  1. There might be too much oil on the brake race. Rub it with a q-tip so that theres a thin, even coating of oil.
  2. Take the spool out and put it in again. Sometimes the spool doesn't sit right because of the silent tune feature.
  3. Ark has a new baitcast reel they are going to reveal at icast. Looks interesting
  4. I just spun the spool with my finger like seen on the video posted
  5. I just tried mine and it doesn't make that sound. Although my spool has line on it and the brake race is lightly oiled.
  6. $199 is pushing it, but I really like small framed reels and I like daiwa mag z brake system. I wanted a slower reel for small swimbaits, chatterbaits, and spinner baits and the alphas sv isn't offered in a 6 speed ratio. I'm happy with my purchase but the alphas for $215 is the better reel I'll try to get the pictures tonight. The frame is the same except for the brake adjustment dial
  7. I was able to fish the tatula tw 80 for a bit today. Nice overall. Casts good, feels smooth, and palms well. I have an Alphas sv tw and I feel like the alphas might be a little smoother but hardly noticeable. Didn't get to catch anything but still enjoyed my time on the water with the new reel
  8. mine just came in, but won't get to use it until next week.
  9. Mine should be here tomorrow, hopefully get to try it out on Saturday
  10. I can run 30 pound power pro braid with 15 pound trilene big game mono leaders on my t-wing daiwa casting reels. I like 10-12ft leaders and I don't have issues with the t-wing. I use the Shin knot for my braid to leader knot. It's slimmer than the Alberto knot and seems just as strong.
  11. Maybe there's too much oil on the brake race. Rub a q-tip on it and take off the excess oil, hopefully it helps
  12. I like mine a lot. I upgraded it with hawgtech spool bearings and a tatula elite long cast spool. I like the Fuego because I can run long leaders with thick mono tied to my braid and don't have any problems passing thru the line guide. With my tatulas if I want to run a long leader, I top out at 12 pound mono or I have issues reeling thru the t-wing line guide.
  13. I want to try Sufix Advance next. I just started using Sufix Siege about a month ago as leader line and main line in 17 lb test for my baitcast reels. It's been great so far. Great knot strength with SD jam knot, low stretch, very manageable as a main line on my Daiwa SV reels
  14. I use long leaders, 12-15 feet. With my t-wing daiwa's, I use 30 pound power pro braid to 12 pound trilene big game mono. I use Shin's knot to connect the lines, and it is thin enough that it runs through the t-wing without any resistance.
  15. I have 30 pound power pro braid on mine and run the spool with some side to side play like all my other reels. It's set with 2 brakes on and external is set to 5, no back lashes even with light Texas rigs (1/8 oz weight)
  16. I ordered on Thursday or Friday last week and still no email saying it's shipped.
  17. I think you might have a faulty reel. I use 30 pound power pro braid on my curado dc. I use it for Texas rigs with 1/8 to 1/4 oz weights and whatever plastic lure I'm using. Setting 2, no spool tension and I never backlash.
  18. I've been looking at this reel for some time but haven't pulled the trigger on it. $155 on Amazon right now, makes it very tempting. Can't find much information on the forums or YouTube though. Not many user reviews or videos on this one
  19. He made an error about the x-ship bearing and even confirmed it in the comments for that video. It does have a bearing supported pinion, just not the x-ship dual bearing support
  20. Pro G is on its way out and is being replaced with the tournament pro LFS, which is already available on tackle warehouse and the big auction site. Has 2 upgrades on the pro g: quiet cast braking system and a P2 pinion support bearing. I have fished the Pro G for about 6 months now and it's been an awesome reel. I just got my Pro LFS and will be trying it out sometime this week.
  21. I've got one, 6'6 mh-f casting. Works pretty good, I've used it twice throwing TX rigs and swim baits at the pond. Good sensitivity, especially for it's price. Feels very stiff for a MH though, kinda like the Abu veritas.
  22. Make sure the drag is turned up some. Sometimes if I press the thumb bar down and then turn the handle, the clutch does not fully engage unless the drag is tightened up a bit.
