  1. Very good beginning combo! I got mine for about the same price after rebate around Father's day. I quickly got the urge to upgrade once I got used to it and have added 2 other combos but the UltraMax combo still gets used every trip.
  2. Perfect. Thank guys! You two were the first ones I thought of when I asked.
  3. Awesome. Im in Richmond, VA so should be about the same. Even if its a little longer thats not bad at all. Thanks!
  4. Didn't want to start a thread on this and know a bunch of have ordered from Hedgehog. What is the turnaround like? Going to be making an order soon and was just curious what the expected wait time is with it coming from overseas? A couple weeks? A month? More? Thanks!
  5. Following! Gonna be making the same decision myself soon.
  6. Nice! Fuego/Vendetta? Mine too, with some jigs obviously.
  7. The three amigos. Newest addition in the middle. 6.4:1 Fuego CT on a 7' Falcon BuCoo SR Trapcaster And the first of the cosmetic additions done too. Added a red handle nut washer. Red frame screws/brake dial screw/knob caps to come Hopefully next up is a Tat SV on a St. Croix Avid X
  8. I'm an idiot....I read somewhere that the Fuego's knobs are riveted on and can't be changed, apparently that is the spinning reel. Never tried to take apart my Fuego CT handle, so when the Zillion handle showed up yesterday I thought man these look exactly alike, took apart the Fuego handle and sure enough, removable knobs. Oh well, live and learn. At least the Zillion knobs have bearings, so a little upgrade anyway.
  9. JUMPINTOFALL is the 20% off coupon
  10. Of course they do haha. Just bought a new reel Friday....

  12. Just ordered the 7' MH-Mod Falcon BuCoo SR and a 6.3:1 Fuego CT. Can't wait! Thanks everyone for the help! Next up.....Tat SV and St. Croix Avid X 7' MH-F!
  13. Looking at getting the Zillion handle to go on my Fuego CT so I can get new knobs. I'd want the Small Handle Nut Plate and Screw set, right? Edit: emailed TackleTrap, need the large
  14. Been looking into this myself. For bearings, either Office ZPI or Hedgehog ZR. I've been looking at Hedgehog Studios, TackleTrap, and JapanTackle for parts, but with so many options my head is spinning haha.
  15. I was thinking that too. Until I realized that the DSG deal was $20 Dick's cash for every $100 spent....so shoulda been $60 Dick's cash (at least $40 if he rounded up to $300). Either way, free lures is cool.
  16. You mention the HH ZRs and the Office ZPIs, which would you recommend? Might pick some up to throw in my Fuego CT that I have and Tatula SV I'll be getting. Noticeable difference for the little price increase for the ZPI?

  18. Thanks @fishnkamp! Would either of the rods be good to pull double duty? Topwater/treble hooks and plastics? And you agree about the Trapcaster (MH/Mod) over the Med/Mod? I like the aesthetics of the Falcon better, so am leaning that direction all things being equal.
  19. So, uh....any other thoughts on the pairing of the Tat SV with one of those rods for my intended purpose? Is that the right Dobyns to be looking at? Any other recommended rod for that purpose?
  20. Thanks @CroakHunter what is the "trap caster"? And would I want the MH/Mod Falcon? Are they rated higher than they actually fish like Dobyns?
  21. Currently have an Abu UltraMax 6.4:1 on a 6'9" MHF Vengeance and a Fuego CT 8.1:1 on a 7' Abu Vendetta MHF. The Fuego/Vendetta almost always has a frog on it, with some jigs and texas rigs mixed in. The UltraMax/Vengeance has done a little bit of everything, Whopper Plopper, Jigs, Dark Sleeper, Texas rigs, chatterbaits and some squarebills. I throw wacky rigs, top water walking baits, and poppers on my sons Lews American Hero MF spinning combo. After lots of reading, I've seen that the general consensus is that a Medium power Moderate action rod is best for treble hook lures. I have also read a lot about the Tatula SV, I think this is going to be my next reel (and probably the best reel I'll own for quite a while, if not ever). My question is, does it make sense to put the Tat SV on a Med./Mod. rod and use it for top water/treble hooks/wacky rigs/weightless plastics/finesse applications? If so, I need to find a rod. Looking for something around $100. I've been looking at the Dobyns Fury 705CB, and 7' Falcon BuCoo SR. Would these be good pairings? What other rods would you suggest? Is this even a good idea? My other thought was to get another Fuego instead of SV for the Med/Mod and get an SV later with another rod, possibly put it on the Vendetta and get a Heavy rod for the 8.1:1 Fuego for frogging, but then would the Vendetta do justice to the SV? So many questions! Sorry guys, I really appreciate all the great info here.
  22. Nice! Loving mine.
  23. Thanks guys! Like I said, loving it. Feels great and performs beautifully. Was only concerned because I know it's a better reel than the UltraMax but it is noticeably more noisy. Not bothersome, but made me wonder if something might be wrong. Just wanted to make sure. I'll keep on fishin it! Thanks again.
  24. Loving my Fuego CT so far! Have only used it a few times, and hopefully thats the reason for my issue. It reels very smooth, but is a little geary sounding. Not sure if it is coming from the main gears at the handle or the worm gear. Is that normal? Will it go away with use? My Abu UltraMax is near silent and I know the Fuego is a much better reel, but it doesn't sound that way. I can't remember if the UltraMax had a similar sound when I first started using it a couple months ago or not. I have not done anything with the Fuego, just took it out of the box, spooled it up and started fishing (same with the UltraMax).
  25. Thanks for all the advice guys. Next time I need to re-spool I'll go heavier. Have only been back into it a couple months. My cousin who helped me get back into it has been using 15# on everything for a few years, catching multiple 6+ lbers and hasn't had any issues, but for peace of mind next time I but new line I'll go heavier.
