Alpha Slasher vs Megabass Jerkbait Special
Slasher for the price and ability. Megabass for the looks and placebo effect of getting one of the most expensive rods in which always adds 50hp at the crank. You can get a slasher AND the new tophammer which is a slasher with more power for specialing in topwater for the price of the megabass.

Lake Okeechobee in October
Okeechobee is a bucket list bass fisherie. I'm sure Toho is great and all and I will make sure to make note of it for the next time I am there.

The worst way to break a rod. AND rod question.
For $5 I would be willing to find out. Personally I would have to repurpose it as a cranking or topwater stick knowing that it wasnt 100%. I wouldnt get caught up on not being able to source the same rod. There are 100 rods out there that are better. Within budget is a different question. If there is sentimental value behind it, than I would repurpose it as a fly swatter.

Does Anyone Use Mono for Jigs/Spinnerbaits?
The reason a lot of people use braid exclusively is because we spend a small fortune on rods that are on the highest level of sensitivity. Anything other than braid takes that level down a notch or two. We all do what we need to do to catch fish though. Mono shines imo for treble hooked baits and fast tipped rods. I dont use it at all, aside from spool backing, as my cranking rods are all moderate action.

What Is Your Current Flipping / Pitching Jig Set Up ?
An oz for sure. I havent done enough research to see if it makes a suitable punching rod. It would be bittersweet if it did! Bittersweet meaning I would then need 3 lol. I will acquire that 893 eventually to use for 1/4 to 3/8. The 894 will mainly chuck a 1/2oz and an occasional 3/4. I can't wait. I hope I can still use it this season by the time I can afford it. Mid oct eta and I'm in Indiana. Snow on Halloween is not uncommon but neither is 70 degrees. Lol

1oz topwater rod suggestions
In the presentation they state that it's a Slasher with a little more power and a full handled grip that was made for one of their pros. They liked it so much that they did a small run of them. The Slasher is on the list after the NRX. I dont throw enough topwater to justify the expense of the Tophammer. I just cant get bit. I'd love to see some reviews on here though.

Gettin an NRX 894 and putting a Bantam mgl on it. I'll probably use 50# braid.

Reel to pair with orochi xx to pitch and punch.
The lews is an awesome reel. I went out and got the lews, curado k, and tatula sv and if I had to be stuck with any of them for the rest of my life I would be ok with it. Agreed upon the TWS. I like how it fishes but I think it's a weak spot in the reel. I fell going down a cliff and the tws got some sand in it and never worked properly again.

Kistler helium 3, shimano Expride or megabass orochi xx ??
I'd love to know what rods do make the boat ride with you? I didnt think it could get any better than an X-ray blank. Please enlighten us. If you are rocking all NRXs then yes... no argument there mi amigo.

1oz topwater rod suggestions
Alpha Angler just released a rod for mail list subs called the tophammer just for big topwater. I wouldn't think a medium would cut it but after watching their presentation I have no doubt in my mind it will chuck a 1oz without issues. Google it you might be able to find it or better yet sign up for their mailer. They have some cool stuff only available to the ones in the know.

You will be hard pressed to find something better than the Kistler or Shimano. The only thing decent on your list is the megabass.

Worth the gamble. I got a tatula elite off amazon and it was in a box 10x bigger than the rod with only bubble wrap around the tip. I got real lucky there. There was no fragile stickers either. I believe a fragile sticker for a delivery service is equivalent to a kick me sign on a nerd.

If you need a shallow to medium crankbait rod Dicks has the dobyns dc705cb glass for $130 after the $10 off $50 discount. That's like $100 off retail. They also have the infamous dc734c for $170 and a couple others as well. Scroll down to figure out which rod is which. Those are some no brainers if you are looking for a great mid tier rod for low tier price.

Maybe looking for a new reel
Aldeberan or the alpha ct sv are good options. I'm going with the aldebaran. I dont plan on throwing hair jigs though. Neds and weightless 5" will be my lightest.

1oz topwater rod suggestions
My frog rod is 7'3" and I have no problems. I dont think another 3 would matter. I am 6'2" though so YMMV

1oz topwater rod suggestions
5 or 6 power for sure. I have a champion 765cb and it is perfect for 3/8 to 1oz treble hook baits. You can throw shallow to deep cranks on it as well as light to heavier jerkbaits. It's a very versatile rod and much more versatile than its glass version. Lately I have been throwing 3/8 and 1/2 chatter baits with 4.6 paddle tails and I am loving it! When I have the need for another mod action rod I will own 2 of these bad boys. You can really chuck those baits out there being 7'6" which you will need on the bank. Its light and perfectly balanced with the curado dc which isnt an easy thing to do with such a long rod. There arent many reviews on it so I rolled the dice and surely didnt crap out. You will be able to find it for around $200 come labor day.

Preferred Punching/Frog Braid?
Had some original spiderwire 65# in my garage since God knows when. 10 years maybe? Works great for frogs. I dont think the bass is going to mind seeing it. Maybe tighten up your brakes a little more? Maybe a little more practice walking the frog or a faster tipped rod?

2018 tatula rods
Hey have you heard of the Dobyns Fury 735? lmao just kiddin bro. You want a fast tip to work the frog. You want a heavy to XH power to pull the fish out of the nasty stuff so up to 2 oz dont matter as long as the tip is good to go. Its a sight bait so any price range will do. My rod doubles as a flippin stick so sensitivity is nice to have if its pullin double duty. Keep that in mind. As far as height is concerned, I am 6'2" and fish the dc736 and can rock that frog from the bank. Keep that under consideration.

As a lefty if I get a right hand reel is there any reason I need to switch hands after casts?
Most of us cast right handed and reel baitcaster with our right hand. Until recently BCs only came right handed. We have done it so long that we dont even realize we switch hands. It would be unnatural to not switch hands.

Rod fit for Shamano Stradic C14+ 2500 reel
Any rod will match but a smart match would be a >$300 rod. Always spend more on your rod! NRX or a Kistler Zbone would be the cream of the crop.

Is it dangerous to take a small boat on a big lake?
I've taken on rollers from wakeboard boats in a 20' boat. No way in .... that I would be in a 12'er with power boats playing. If you can hit a no wake cove by riding the shoreline maybe but I would really research it before I tried it. You would think that going at dawn and being out by noon would be ok but the hardcore wakeboarders also go at this time because it's their only opportunity of glass water.

What type of rod for Whopper plopper?
You are just quick on the gun bro. We all get excited when we see that fish attack our piece of plastic. Let him take it first. I know its hard to do but dont set until the rod loads either by the weight of the fish or you reeling down on him. You will get it. I'd hate to see you get a rose just for this. Buy one for all treble hook applications such as the dc765cb. Awesome sensitivity and a very versatile rod.

Dobyns 736CB Glass Opinions
This is arguably the best chatterbait rod for the money so if you occasionally throw them I would get it. It's on my shortlist as well. It will chuck DDs just fine. My 765cb does fine with them and it's a power lower.
