  1. I also saw the HMG 7'2 medium/MF casting that might fit the bill?
  2. If you carry them often, a ceiling rack is the nicest. DIY one for my Jeep Liberty and works great
  3. I tried my Assassin as well this morning ! Little harder to dial in but once done, cast like a champ and weight next to nothing
  4. I have one, 6'9 but spinning I amn looking for a baitcaster combo, reel Will likely be a KK Royale Legend Elite 5ish:1. As for line I honestly dont know, maybe Light fluorocarbon since it sinks ?
  5. I caught my first fish on a KK reel. The spinning us noisy on retrieves and the BC I tried was really smooth ! Cast easy and few backlashes. Im relatively new to baitcasting so. Backlashes were when casting against wind.
  6. Hi guys, I've decided I should use my CB more and the reason I'm not using them is that my gear is almost all fast action or beyond except for trout rods. I was pretty much set on the Fenwick Lunker Stik in 7'3" lenght. I was wondering which power should I buy ? There is a Medium and a Medium Heavy. I have lots of thinfin size 6 and a few others. Also Rapala Lipless Rattlin Rap size 7 and 8. I could probably use the spinning med/mod. fast Elite Tech bass for the TF but I figure I would need something else for the lipless and larger cranks ?
  7. All my KK are spooled and will likely get their first use this afternoon
  8. I use golf clubs as my usual example to explain my OCD about rods/reels...
  9. That being said, you can still atenuate the retrieve disavantage of spinning by choosing 6ish:1 spinning reels. People often oversee the importance/possibility of choosing a suited ratio.
  10. Buyers beware: On most of the newer Shimano lines, you'll have the 6.2:1 gear ratio only on 3000 size.
  11. I am looking to try their new 3.5" fatty tubes
  12. I will fish mine before ordering more but looks great!
  13. I received the Royale Legend Elite and the Valiant Eagle. Size 2000 is definitely what I wanted. I have a good feeling with the RLE but not so good with the Valiant Eagle. I Will spool Them and try Them next weekend. The Valiant Eagle got a screw with head damaged will have to look into that with Them.
  14. Should receive them today Can't wait to get my hands on
  15. I ordered it, will likely receive it before last season outing. Late October is probably not best time of year to try the so claimed "fastest spinning reel of the world" though ... I usually put on slower reels in October since I can't educate myself to reel way slower lol.
  16. Unable to order it, shipping to a Canadian address doesnt do the trick ? @KastKingUSA
  17. Thanks sir. They do not seem to be available yet
  18. The handle makes it ugly and kind of badass at the same time... They will cost more than the average KK reel though from what I read.
  19. Its an ugly and beautiful reel at the same time ! I might give it a try next year ! My 6.2:1 are doin ok actually
  20. You should think about a medium/Fast spinning setup for Soft plastics as you already have a bunch of mh casting setups !
  21. I was more affraid about setup overall balance and casting ability than line capacity. As for the review it will be a full one (yes, including unboxing and general impressions, but not just that) Since it will likely takes a few Weeks, I might have an hard time doing an honest review this season, as a Canadian my season is coming to an end. Will definitely be using both of them at my last tourney in October if I got them
  22. Hi guys and gals, I just ordered two new KK reels, 1 baitcast and 1 spinning. I ordered the Valiant Eagle, in 2000 size. I read somewhere else that the KK equivalent size to a shimano 2500 would be a 3000. At the time of order, I was under impression that a 3000 KK would be same than a Shimano 3000 and a 2000 would be more or less a 2500. Was my assumption right ? I have a bunch of Sahara 2500FE but they don't sell them anymore and to go to a 6.2:1 ratio (I love to pick up slack fast), you need to go to their 3000HG size which I do not want even if they apparently weight the same. I usually fish with Tuf-Line XP 20lbs braid and from the website spec, the 2000 would hold plenty of it. I had to order from eBay as the regular KK site isn't shipping to their Northern neighbours (note the spelling ) The reel will be paired with Medium/fast 7' rods for softplastics (tubes mainly) but I might give it a try on a spinning MH/fast for heavier tubes (3/8 and over) My actual Sahara 2500FE are 9.2oz The new model Sahara 2500FI/3000HGFI are 8.8 and 2500 can hold 140yds of 8lbs and the 3000 170yds My Sahara are binding when it's really hot and sunny outside, a well known Shimano flaw of these reel Gen. Some claim it's the friction ring, other claim it's the bushing deforming under heat and I changed it for a bearing in one of mines and IIRC it never binded. That being said, if I concentrate enough to do it consistently and close the bail by hand, it do not bind so... I think they've all corrected it on the new Gen though ! The KastKing is 8.4 in 2000 size. and 9.6 in 3000 size, 2000 can hold 150yds of 8lbs and 3000 210yds So now I am wondering: Did I choose the right size ? Will it compare with the Sahara, or even better, outperform them while being at least 20CAD$ cheaper ? Thanks,
  23. I just had a deal on a Team KVD combo so I got it. 6'10" Heavy/Fast baitcast. I read many guys frogging with longer rods than that (7'4 to close to 8') but I'm just shy of 5'8" and I fish from a kayak, most of the time sitting but sometimes standing. Will that do the trick ? Also, I ditched the reel (a Quantum Solo baitcasting) for a KastKing Royale Legend Elite in 8.1:1 ratio as I like to pick line fast when needed. I hesitated for a while with the ratio between 7.3 and 8.1 but I finally get the 8.1 as I already have another 7.2:1 reel if I really don't like it. Any members bought the Royale Legend Elite ? Its a fairly new model from KastKing. Also, what's the handle lenght and hole size as I will likely replace it with a carbon aftermarket on, mainly for look purpose The new handle should be a tiny tad lighter as well. This is my first KastKing, I use to be a Shimano guy but I decided to cross the line. I hope it will compare with similarly priced Shimano reel (I have a Citica 200E that I upgraded with a Curado spool and swapped a bushing for a bearing) or even better, outperform them, any toughts about that ? Thanks, Tom
  24. I know but I think both members are still active ! I will post pics of my stuff soon but nothing to call home about
