  1. @Redlinerobert we sadly can't see them anymore would love to see custom reels as they are not that common around here ! @J Francho on the first page pic: I noticed LHR and RHR baitcasters. Are you using lefties for some technique like flippin/pitching ? Also, what is the spincast used for ? After using one lately, I wondered if I would not add a good ol' spincast to my arsenal for cranks ? I guess a spincast should fit any casting rod ?

  3. Hi guys and gals, My name is Tom and I'm a new member from a small city halfway between Montreal and Quebec City. I started fishing for bass out of my kayak a few years ago and also fish from a 12' aluminum boat. I also fish for trout during Spring since bass here opens around June 15th. I have quite a bunch of tackle, like most folks here I guess I'm very interested in reading what members setups are ? Like my nick suggest, I'm both a geek and an angler. I mainly fish for smallmouth as there is no close enough largemouth fishery where I live but I started competing in some kayak tourneys West from where I am, so I got in largies more this year with a not too bad success (quantities but no size sadly) I fish for bass since 2015. I mainly fish my surrounding area (Mauricie, QC, Canada) but I also compete in Kayak Angler Association of the Outaouais which is a club who organises events in Ottawa, ON area. Looking forward to share the little knowledge I gathered those last few years and learn more stuff !
  4. In rivers, they tend to fight like larger specimens from other BOW with no current. I put it on the fact they need muscles to cope with that current
  5. I'd go with a 7' feet medium fast rod with 20 pounds braided like and some tubes as fat and as short as possible in natural color with some purple in 'em. If its a river I guess it will have some current so you should not go under 1/4oz tube head and if you go with a 3/8, you might want to upgrade to a 7' MH, Fast action spinning rod especially with mid size tubes (3.5-4"). Take the fastest retrieving spinning reel you have to "eat line slack as fast as you can. BTW I don't use leaders on these setups, braid to bait.
