G Loomis GLX MBR843C vs MBR844C for Senko rod
I'm considering the MBR843C or MBR844C in GLX as my Senko rod. I throw mostly 5" and occasionally 6" using 15-17lb line. What are the pros/cons of each? Appreciate some feedback. Thanks.

ZPI - Friction Zero Oil
Have any of you used ZPI - Friction Zero Oil? It's made by Nano Technologies of Japan and is a low-friction oil that replaces the grease in American reels so they perform like their Japanese counterparts. I used Quantum's Hot Sauce for a while but after reading posts here and seeing the red dye residue that builds up I've decided to use a different oil. Thanks.

G Loomis GL3 MBR843C vs SBR812C for spinnberbaits
Micropterus salmoides replied to Micropterus salmoides's topic in Fishing Rods, Reels, Line, and KnotsThanks for the welcome. I've seen this site a few times when searching for bass info, but never clicked to be directed to it. It's good to find so many people to derive information from. I'm in the market for new rods and reels and am evaluating my current line choices to see if I want to try out any of the new lines that have appeared within the last couple of years. Thanks everyone. If I go with the MBR843C I will probably get the GL3 version since it is most comparable to the SB series. I definitely would not purchase GLX unless I was using that rod for worming/jigging as well. Maybe IMX if I get one from fatfishfarmer. His prices are amazing. His IMXs are around the same price of GL3 in local tackle shops. Just need more feedback on IMX vs GL3 for a dedicated spinnerbait rod.

G Loomis GLX MBR784C vs GLX MBR844C
Micropterus salmoides replied to Micropterus salmoides's topic in Fishing Rods, Reels, Line, and KnotsWhen you say that the MBR784C and MBR844C fish like two completely different rods can you be more specific? I use Shimano Chronarch SF reels with my rods, so maybe it's the underhand roll cast that makes casting 3/16-1/4 oz bullet weights a little difficult. I've been using 3/8-1/2 oz jigs much more the last couple of years so I may have become accustomed to the heavier weight loading the rod more easily. Probably need a bit more practice with the lighter weights.

G Loomis GL3 MBR843C vs SBR812C for spinnberbaits
I'm interested in a dedicated spinnerbait rod and am looking at the GL3 MBR843C and SBR812C. I selected the SBR812C over the SBR813C because after evaluating them in a tackle shop the SBR812C was more similar to the MBR843C, despite its lower power rating. I think the extra fast action has a lot to do with this. The SBR813C was a beefy rod. The bottom rod circumference was much larger than the MBR843C. One thing I've noticed is that in all the spinnerbait threads I checked no one suggested a GL3 rod for spinnerbait fishing. Most people recommended IMX. Why? Is it because IMX is more versatile, say if someone wanted to use the rod for other applications, like worming and jigging? Spinnerbait fishing typically does not require a very sensitive rod unless you are deep slow rolling, which I rarely do. I've contacted G Loomis several times over the past couple of years and everyone told me that the spinnerbait series uses graphite that is most similar to GL3. GL3 is a little more forgiving which makes it good for reaction baits. It's more durable as well. A necessity for the rod I choose is the ability to accurately place 1/4-3/8 spinnerbaits into tight cover, like flooded stick brush, tules, etc using an underhand roll cast. I had no issues using a 6' 6" rod, but find that I'm increasingly more comfortable and versatile with 7' rods. They provide a bit more leverage and control when playing fish. I have 2 CBR845C rods for cranbaits/topwaters and love them. Anyway, I would appreciate feedback on some of the differences between the two rods, particularly the SBR812C since I haven't heard many reviews, and wonder if they are a step up, as well if IMX would be better than GL3 for the MBR843C. Thanks.

G Loomis GLX MBR784C vs GLX MBR844C
I currently have a GLX MBR784C as my jig/worm rod and was considering getting a GLX MBR844C to replace it. Conditions vary from fishing 5-20 ft deep with 3/8-1/2 oz jigs in rocky cover using longer casts to fishing 1-10 ft deep with 3/16-3/8 oz bullet weighted soft plastics in lay downs and dense vegetation. I find the MBR784C casts 3/8-1/2 oz lures with ease, but I have a little difficulty, particularly with accuracy, when casting 3/16-1/4 oz lures. I'm wondering if the softer tip of the MBR844C, which I was told was a difference compared to the MBR784C by a G Loomis representative, would make casting lighter baits easier than with the MBR784C. Is the MBR844C as effortless making short casts to up close shallow cover as the MBR784C is? I primarily use an underhand roll cast. Another consideration is working a lure. Is the extra weight of the MBR844C noticeable while holding the rod during the retrieve or is it negligible? Is it any more fatiguing than the MBR784C? Does the balance of rod and reel feel any different? Finally, would the MBR844C improve hook setting, particularly when fishing deeper and making longer casts? I've noticed that I'm missing some hook sets during these conditions. I would appreciate some insight on this subject. Thanks.
