  1. When I was growing up the local lake manager had an old alumnium boat and he would sit on the very front of the boat, anchor down and bass fish with his spinning reel just like this. he would cast out turn it around and turn the handle very slow and he would hook his plastic worm in the head then twist the worm then insert the tip of the hook that way as he reeled in it turn in the worm giving it action. He caught a lot of fish.
  2. I have a Tatula and love it is really light and no issues so far. I have the 2500 but i think I will get the 3000 next time. If I was you I would take a spinning reel that you already have and mount it on the rod, line it with the line your going to use and put all the of the main baits on it that you plan on using so you you can check the balance of the set up. Then you would know if you needed a heavier or lighter reel. Just a thought.
  3. Pride keeps us from catching fish sometimes.
  4. I know there are fishermen that think this isn't bass fishing and I have been told that by some but Wacky rigging is a fish catching machine. You can finesse it, power fish it, jig it or even use it as a top water bait. This year from Febuary thru June til the water got in the 90's my partner and I just wore them out on a wacky rig. One Saturday for a total of 5 hours I had 68 bass myself and the next Saturday I caught 65. During the week days after work he and I would fish together and was catching up to 60 together in a few hours. We caught 28 one afternoon and was complaining about how bad the fishing was. LOL These lakes we fish are 100 acres are less and heavly pressured. Yes sometimes we catch dinks but we also have caught some hawgs 10.3 being the largest this year with multiple 8's on down . We use finesse worms and finally dialed it in to one color one brand that work the best for us and weightless 95% of the time. I hope this next year is just as good . Happy Thanksgiving Everyone !!!!!!!!!
  5. I fish with a Daiwa Tatula Med/Light 7'1" cork handle version and it is a great rod. Sensitive, tough as nails, very light the price is around $159.00 . I wacky rig, ned rig, drop shot, slider, and light texas rig. It does great for all of these.
  6. I use the exact setup line and # test. Make more raps and when you finish your raps and make that first knot make sure to pull it tight. I normally do about 25 raps. The more you do it the better you will get at it. FG is the way to go so don't be discouraged.
  7. Normally there in what we would call deep 15-25 foot. But there coming to the top.
  8. On my home lake the bass have started to school this is something new to us so I have some questions. 1. Do bass school at night? 2. What baits do you find work good ? We have caught them on crank baits, topwater and wacky worms. 3. Any other tips you have or oddities about scholling bass that you have noticed. PS. This type fishing can be addictive.
  9. I know I am a little late to this topic but I use Heat Shrink in the clear color. You can buy a kit off of Amazon that has multimule sizes. Find the size that fits your bait cut the size piece you want an hook it. Works better than o rings in my oppinion and its cheap. I fish wacky almost all the time. I use VMC neko hooks.
  10. the step is sosmall if you mounted the bracket to the step the bracket would hang down below the boat.
  11. I am relocating my transducer for my hummingbird mega 9 side imaging to the transom. My boat is a 1997 bass tracker 175txw. There does not seem to be a great place to install it on this boat. This boat has the small step below the transom and the motor turns clockwise from the rear. Any suggestions? By the way I want be doing anything but troll speed when looking. I fish small lakes mostly.

  13. One arm guy with a rope around him swimming his boat to the dock. His only Battery ran down and he couldn't crank it and since he couldn't paddle he tied a rope to himself and started swimming. Yes we stopped and towed him in.
  14. Daiwa TATULA 2018 with cork handle 150.00 can't be beat. Tough as nails, light as a feather and extremely sensitive.
  15. I fish wacky rigs 99% of the time I fish mine weighless and I use a #1 or #2 VMC neko hook with a Jackall Flick Shake. I use heat shrink cut in small pieces instead of o rings and the silicone tubing. Just find the size that fits your worm the best. I have been averaging 25 to 30 a afternoon doing it this way.
  16. Last week someone posted about losing big fish and of course I commented. Saturday I lost the biggest Bass I have ever hung and actually saw. She came up twice and then went straight away from me. She was definitley a 10 + bass and yes I know they look bigger in the water cause she looked 15+ so I'm under estimating>LOL . I had already caught 13 and had thought about retying but being lazy I didn't and my drag was not set properly so it cost me a better chance at a bass of a life time. I fish light spinning tackle and when you hang a good fish the world needs to be perfect. I had to eat humble pie and think about what I did wrong. You never know when you feel that tick on the other end what it will be.
  17. To me the new moon to full moon is the best. Full moon to new moon not as good . I only get to fish about 5 days a week though.
  18. Sharp Hooks, Slack out of line, Soft rod tip, Keep your head in the game, and a lot of Luck. Sometimes it just bees that a way.
  19. I don't have the Rebellion casting rod but I do have the Rebellion in spinning and compared to my Tatula spinning the same size it feels like a Sheman tank. I don't mean its heavy it just feels like its tough as nails so to speak, and good sensitvity.
  20. I love Smackdown on a spinning reel.
  21. I have the Daiwa Tatula with the cork handle 7'1" medium lite and looking to purchase th 6'10" Medium with the x fast tip. Do any of you guys have both or at least the 6'10" so you can tell me how you like it and the differences in the tips? I love my Medium Lite.
