  1. This is a great question. I have a lake i fish that tends to get a film on the top and stains the line. Brand new line at that, lol. My pickiness always hates this and I want to change it out. It normally cleans itself when i am on cleaner water, but I do like the question. Any insight on this would be great. One thing I do though is to soak my line in KVD line conditioner before and after this and it seems to help.
  2. I know that this will not be popular, but the Googan Jigs are very solid. I love the hook, weed guard, weight stamp and the shape of their casting jigs. They also have a great wire bait keeper. Solid.
  3. How do you rig the chew toy? Are you swimming it or is more a bottom contact set up?
  4. This right here, changed the Ned game for me and my sons.
  5. Stop being logical. I dont need this kind of negativity in my life! LOL.
  6. I will be the first one to admit that staying with what I have is the best option, lol. I just want to explore my options around this price point with recommendations from those that have gone before. I would love to turn my TP-1 set up into a purely flipping and jig set up.
  7. I have become addicted to throwing a Frog. Currently, my set up is a Lews TP-1 M/H with a Lews Speed Spool LFS and 65# braid and it is working. The TP-1 is easy to cast, and still strong enough to haul them out. Now, saying that I am being pulled to look at a heavier powered rod. My issue is, that my first experience with a heavier rod was a Abu Veritas and I hated it. It had no feel, and was terrible to cast. My fear is that I do not want to recreate that experience and would rather stay with the setup I have now. I know there are $$$ rods, but I want to stay under the $200 mark and If I can get a combo under this even better. I have been intrigued by the Shimano SLX XT combo for the price, but again dont want to run into hating the feel as if I am fishing with cue stick. Any options or directions would be greatly appreciated.
  8. The Lews TP-1 MH would be one that sits between a MH and H and I love it! I use it for frogging in thick stuff and it has enough back bone to move them, and is just soft enough to still cast into tight windows.
  9. I have used the Booyah, and the LiveTarget and for durability, the Booyah wins hands down. For everything else, the LiveTarget is by far the better of the 2. I will fish both all summer long.
  10. Call me late to the game, but i have just now tried the Zman bullet weights with the small EWG hook that you can tex-pose in the Elaztic! These are a game changer! I love the Ned, for me, and for my boys, but the only issue was spending their future college tuition savings on hooks from snags and hang up losses! The thing that kept me from trying them, was i believed they would fall over due to the pointed head and thus defeat the purpose of the presentation. Nope and nope. That Elaztic is so buoyant that it stands up great! Not only that the hook up ratio is just the same with a little tweak to the hook set. This is honestly really exciting for me. I even tried them in grass and was able to drag the them along and then allow them to fall in to the holes and it worked great! If you are already using these, good for you and keep at it, if not, trust me it will change your Ned game and minimize the built in frustration of the exposed hook.
  11. How long did it take for them to get you your order?
  12. I will trade for Vision 110's or Jackhammers?
  13. Is there a code to use online for that 25%?
  14. Have not looked that close. Again, just want to be clear - I am a fan of this company, I was just shocked how much of a "chemical" smell there was when I opened the package. I will continue to buy their jigs and hard baits, just will probably not buy anymore of their plastic offerings.
  15. Let me first start off by saying I am a fan of this companies gear so far that I have used. Divine Swim Jig - Awesome, with the screw lock for the trailer. Hybrid Jig, awesome as I caught my first jig fish on this jig - still not sure what I did right (lol)? Yesterday I come across their "Craw" style plastic and wanted to see what they were all about. Got them home, opened the package and wow, what a "chemical, plastic" smell. It actually caught me off guard. I know there are baits with scents, but I just cant imagine this is the scent they were going for? Now the plastic itself, seemed solid, good design, have not seen the action so I can not comment on that. Without any "rudders" on the appendages I am assuming a loose flopping motion, as best guess. Just curious if this has been anyone else's experience.
  16. Haaa! Caught 1 frog fish and then thought I caught a double digit toad, and it ended up being a 35" + Muskie! Just awesome!
  17. Is there opportunity on that lake to throw a frog? I am addicted to this and did not know if there is much covered water? Thanks again!
  18. I am headed up there this week and it is my first trip on the lake. I am thinking about bringing my kayak or just bank fishing? If anyone can give me any local knowledge of the water, baits, and tips it will be appreciated. I should have any application covered with my setups but wont have much time to get dialed in - so anything would help. Thanks!
  19. I have started to use the Owner hooks and have been extremely happy with them. The hook has a bit more strength and i prefer the wire keeper on the Owner hooks.
  20. I have gotten to fish the LFS now and am already looking to get another one to upgrade my ProMax (Great reel or the price). The LFS just feels so solid and put together. Not sure if that makes sense. It just feels like it is going to be a work horse of a reel and have some longevity.
  21. Good to know. It makes sense, as my son has an older BPS reel and the tension knob does not click, but it changes after a handful of cast, and he has to readjust. Because of this, he has now taken ownership of one of my other rods (Lews Custom). Lol
  22. This happened to ours in St Louis and I went nuts! Where are you located?
  23. I have, I allmost bought the combo for $145 - but I love the TP1 rod and the reel was such a good price I went this way. I got the rod for $35 after a gift card ($30off) and the Reel was $75. Hard to beat this combo at that price, whether I stick with the Lews or the Revo.
