Custom reel bearings
I have a Revo STX tore down doing some maintenance and I am toying with the idea of replacing the stock spool shaft bearings with custom bearings. Do you think it would improve this reel that much? I am ok with the distance I get with it now. I don't know if I would benefit from the change or not.

New Rick Clunn crankbait
I never buy a bait because it is endorsed by someone. I buy them because they have a good reputation or I think they will work. Endorsements mean nothing to me.

Rod Warranties
No they won't. I have a Crucial with a broken tip that is about a year old and I am not getting much help. Real disapointed with Shimano guarantees right now.

Weirdest Thing You've Reeled In
Two ten speed bikes like brand new. I was fishing the river below the walking and biking trail and snagged onto one in about 3 feet of water, I was able to pull both of them out with my plug knocker. I laid them across the back of the boat and finished the days fishing. When I got home I gave them to my nephews and they used them for a couple of years.

Beaver style baits(The New Senko?)
I really believe that the RI beavers and the Net Bait Paca Craw are the most productive soft baits I have ever used. There just doesn't seem to be a wrong way to fish them.

Storing Flukes
You can go to a dollar store and buy those clear plastic "shoe boxes" or storage boxes. They come in two sizes and the small ones are about a buck. The original bags will fit them very well and you can stand them like files. I never have a problem with bent plastics.

universal line??
I agree with the Yo- Zuri, I use it for everything.

How'd it get its name??
How about road kill camo? That was a good color and it is hard to find now.

Fish Harder Co. to sell of subsidiaries
I have never had a problem with them, they seem to be a lot better than any other when it comes to that. And you don't need inserts.

jim duckworths soft plastic tip
It is an old, old trick and it does work very well.

Silent cranks vs rattles
Probably 90 per cent of my crank baits are silent, I never did get into the noisy ones. For a while it was difficult to find baits that did not have noise makers inside, now it seems the trend is back to silent baits again. What do you prefer and why?

Now that's standing behind your product.
We're not 'dissing' Shimano, we're 'dissing' those that think anything BUT a Shimano is inferior. The thread was started by someone noting something positive that Abu did for a friend of his, but somehow deteriorated into yet another lame *** brand war. And it happens anytime you say anything good about another reel brand. It is as if you are supposed to say "Shimano is by far the best but". It is getting old.

Now that's standing behind your product.
I'm glad Pure Fishing has made you happy, but that's no reason to take a jab at "Big S". Shimano has provided me with outstanding customer service on the rare occasion it's needed. If you have had to replace 10 Abu Garcia reels in the past few years, I would consider another brand. I haven't had to ask for a replacemnt from Shimano... ever. : On the other hand I have been using ABU reels since the early 60's and have never had to ask for a replacement EVER!! I have also never had a serious repair issue with any of their reels EVER. Any time I have needed parts or had a problem their customer service took care of any issue professionally and quickly ALWAYS. I use Shimano also and cannot say the same thing about their customer service. At times they act like they don't know anything about the problem and it must be an isolated situation but did not offer a solution. Although they build good reels their customer service is not at the same level as most good reel companies. Big room for improvement there.

Crawdad colors and info all you need to match the hatch
Cast a soft craw into a small mouth stream and they will hit it as soon as it hits the water. How do they know? What do they see?. I know there is a difference in the colors and shades of coloration between a hard craw and a soft craw. But at times it has seemed to me that the bass see this while the bait is still in the air. I have had days when 3 or 4 smallmouth are waiting for that bait to hit the water. One old friend always said the soft ones are shinier. Whatever it was he could see it too because when we picked craws at night he never picked up a hard one. I tried to catch every craw I found.

Crawdad colors and info all you need to match the hatch
As much as science can study it I don't think we will ever know if or how a bass sees colors.

Crawdad colors and info all you need to match the hatch
Yes and that is not always easy to do, I am still trying to figure which ones are in my waters. I know there are some sites on line that will give information about that but sometimes it is just not specific enough.

Crawdad colors and info all you need to match the hatch
Here is a good site with a lot of information about crawdads and their various coloration and how to match them. More than I need to know, but interesting. It also has a lot of information on bait fish, frogs, and worms etc. http://www.pixelpayback.com/craws/hoverbox/index.html

Daiwa Tierra 153h vs Citica/RevoS
You know it is all about personal choice. I had a Citica that I was very disapointed with, did not think it was in the same class as the Revo S reels that I own. It felt like a grinder and did not cast near as well as the Revo's.

Okuma reels
I have not read too much about them here. Just wondering what the members think about them. Seems like Cabela's has a selection of them. Are they good reels?
