  1. Thanks for the feedback , I got the 7 2 medium heavy fast.
  2. Looking to getting a Shimano expride for dragging jigs. Throw a lot of 1/4 3/8 and a half if it's windy. Once I add the trailer and add some weight to it would I be better suited for a medium heavy or a heavy in this rod. I know what the lure rating say on the rod but didn't know if I should go with a heavy?
  3. The big muskie jitterbug and buzzbait are what most use at night.
  4. Agree location but big would be relative to the location fishing I would think.
  5. 1. Minnow w ffs 2. Jig 3. Swim baits 4. Nighttime top water 5. Other What is everyone's opinion on best technique to catch trophy bass if you had to pick 1?
  6. I think I'm between the okuma x and the talon
  7. Not a flipping rod but swim jigs and dragging . 15 ish pound line range
  8. Ah the poison adrena I forgot about that one
  9. Yeah would rather not spend nrx money if I don't have to.
  10. I'm considering a high end jig specific rod. The g Loomis is expensive and some say it's overated for the price but I have no experience. Would an ex pride but a good high end option or does anyone else have a rod they like better? Looking for recommendations for a jig rod 1/4-1/2 oz.
  11. Fished chick for 2 trips now. Caught some 4s and lost one right at the net that might have went 7.
  12. Kentucky lake or Watts bar worth anything?
  13. I live in ohio and don't feel as energetic to driving as my younger self. I fished chichamunga during the spring and got a feeling that the bigs are in decline there currently. What lake/lakes give the best chance at a 10 in KY or Tn?
  14. Anyone have a pic of a hair jig w trailer? Not sure I've seen one before.
  15. I agree ffs is the cats meow. Josh jones catches most of his bigs with a jig. Butch brown and oliver nguyen mostly swim baits. I'm upgrading now but haven't made my mind up in 10 inch screen vs 12.
  16. I'd say it counts. I guess my question is more geared to what gives the best chance at catching a personal best bass or the biggest bass in the lake.
  17. I guess that's a fair question, I guess we'd have to define what big bass is. I live in Ohio so big bass is probably 5 lb or better obviously 8 lb and up is the goal so probably much bigger than average or some of the biggest fish in the lake.
  18. What are your thoughts on Big versus regular size baits for Big Bass. Obviously there's one camp that feels big bait such as big swim baits are more apt to catch big bass but the number of big bass that have came on regular size jigs and lures there's also something to think about. Does it up your odds to throw big baits to catch big bass or is there as good as of or better chance at catching a big bass on regular size lures?
  19. Some days on Erie you can't go out with a battleship it's so bad. Bigger is better for big water.
  20. I bought a rapala heavy duty electric knife. You can fly through some fish.
  21. I have an older lowrance cover that I'm going to sell but I don't remember what unit it goes to. Anyone have an idea? Called lowrance and they weren't sure. Deminsions are 7 in x 9.5 inchs.
  22. Thank you guys for the help.
  23. No just surface temp. Good point I guess. I don't know why I never realized or noticed this in the past. Guess I'm always learning something.
  24. I'm thinking you guys were correct on a thermocline unless someone else has a different opinion. It is a clear lake and it's been in the upper 80s for the last 3 weeks. Thanks again for the help.
  25. Yes sir. Didn't make any difference on that. So could be thermocline that deep? Also we have had a ton of rain this month and lake was flooded so junk could be logical.. This reading is not everywhere is the lake just in deeper spots . Appears over 15 ish feet. If it's really showing something in the water I can live w that. I was just making sure something not broken or a quick setting issue.
