  1. Anyone use either? What is the rod Feider uses for hair jigs? Looking to pair with a Luvias 3012H. Thanks!
  2. I have one of these reels as well! Absolutely stunning! I got mine from TW during the Memorial Day sale back in the spring. I have a Luvias as well...(mine is a 3012H) and I absolutely love the reel. I have mine on a Legend Xtreme spinning rod and have been putting it to good use. They are amazing reels and best wishes with your new setup! I ended up getting my reel from a place in AL that had it for $199 shipped at the time with a free Daiwa hat. Since then, the price of the reels on the same site has gone up. That looks awesome! I never thought they would match up like color-wise that but they look great. Best wishes with the new setup.
  3. I ordered two of them...total came to $147. I have a Tatula SV I want to try with it as well. I have two of the 6'9" ML spinning rods as well (one is still brand new with plastic still on the cork). My 6'9" ML that is in use has seen lots of fish and is a great rod. I figured if I like the 6'9" MH-F casting, it's worth ordering two since they have been discontinued. It should be a nice compliment to the ML spinning.
  4. I have a 7' Medium with an SV103H on it and I absolutely love the rod (and reel). It is very nice at throwing a variety of baits and even though it has a regular taper, it is rather fast. They are a great rod for the price! I got mine for $99.
  5. Classic 80s reels! The PL100 might actually be earlier and closer to the SM2A that Bill Dance used to use! I just got a PMA15S for $10 at a flea market. I cleaned it up, oiled and greased it and it is beautiful! They are great reels you have there. What type of Daiwa rods are they on?
  6. 4600C reels were a part of me growing up. I have had both C3, C4, and UltraCast 4600 models. My dad used them almost exclusively when I was growing up so I was trained to use bait casting reels on them. I can still see him using the LightCast 4600, Royal 4600, and his C3 reels. I have a custom Iovino 4600C that is metallic green with chrome/gold parts and pearl white knobs. Awesome reel and one I don't even use...it's a display model and one-of-a-kind. Enjoy your fishing with your reels and best wishes on the water!
  7. How about a Daiwa MiniCast or GoldCast (classic)? The SilverCast is nice too. One of my kids has a MiniCast and it works nicely. Best wishes on the water and have fun fishing with your children!
  8. Before our local store closed, I picked up a few bottles of Gander reel grease and oil for something like $.39 or $.50 per unit. Is this stuff any good...it is a forest green color in the bottle? Not that I am concerned and could ditch it if it stinks since it was cheap beyond belief but is it any better than the standard Abu stuff you can find anywhere? Thanks!
  9. Thank you rippin-lips. I am going to give it a shot and if its similar to my 15 Luvias 3012H that I own and got for $199 shipped, then I may just have to return it. If it is nicer, then maybe I will keep it. I just thought for the price it would be worth a shot...or maybe I could exchange it for a Certate as mentioned earlier.
  10. Well if it's nice, then I will keep it...if not, I can simply return it. Thanks for the input guys. Currently I have a Stradic Ci4+ 2500, Luvias 3012H, RG 2500, and SS Tournaments 1300 and 700. I just figured for the price, it would be nice. Or I can exchange it for a Certate and be refunded a few bucks back too. I have to get the reel in hand to see. Thanks for the input and if anyone else has any information, that would be great too. Best wishes on the water!
  11. I have handled but never used a Stella and they are smooth! I just figured for the price I got this Steez, it would be worth a try. How does it compare to the Exist?
  12. Awesome setup man!
  13. Just added a last minute purchase to TW with the Labor Day discount. Picked up a Steez EX 3012H spinning reel for $467 from $799. Has anyone used this reel before and how does it compare to a Shimano Stella or even the Exist. I have a Luvias 3012 Shallow Spool that I love! For the price I figured it would be nice but any input/comparison is helpful. Thanks and best wishes on the water!
  14. I want to try an SV105 with the red accents on my Poison Adrena rod but I don't know if I can...for now my Scorpion 1000XT is on it!
  15. Wow man! One of my favorite reels done very classy! Well done and good luck with the reel! Halloween/Autumn special!
  16. SV103 as others have said.
  17. Yes I do...those are some of my intended uses for the rod and reel as well!
  18. I am a little over an hour from your area more towards the northeast section of the state.
  19. That is the exact rod my one SV103XS is on!
  20. Now that is awesome! I hope you get and SV103 soon! Enjoy the weekend!
  21. Some of those old bumpier foil Rapalas are classic. They were the first of the foil style that they came out with. Also, the painted straight line on the minnow baits indicate (with the red mustache) that they are the made in Finland versions. I saw use them.
  22. Congratulations! I think you'll really like the reel!
  23. I have an original Falcon Expert casting rod in excellent shape from 2001 (6' Medium/Fast Action). Wondering what ever happened to this series and what this rod (which hasn't seem much action in the last few years) would be good for technique wise? Thank you!
  24. http://www.daiwa.com/us/contents/reels/sv_series/index.html The SV103 does not say "freshwater only" and if you look at each model, it can be used in (M)edium freshwater and (L)ight saltwater. They have CRBB bearings.
  25. I have one of my SV103XS reels with 10lb. test line on my Tatula Elite Ehrler 7' AGS rod and it is a joy to cast. And it matches up with the rod nicely. I plan on using it for lighter plastics/jigs and some finesse applications that I don't use my spinning gear for. I may put an SV103H on my 7' Tatula Medium regular taper and throw spinnerbaits, cranks, swim jigs, etc. I know there are lighter and more refined reels out there but for some reason, the SV103 has been standing out since I saw it in the 2015 Daiwa catalog in late 2014/early 2015 at a place called Dunkelbergers in the Poconos.
