  1. Yes it is! But as with all saltwater safe reels, it should be thoroughly rinsed after each use in salt or brackish water.
  2. Get some Gopher tackle heads. They are really nice and priced right. I have been successful with a variety of baits as a "tail" for the Ned Rig. They all seem to work.
  3. Will the Daiwa SV103 reel go down as one of those reels to reach "legendary" status for its durability, versatility, and customizable platform since they were really only around from 2015-2017? Before the discontinuation (I wonder why they were, yet they still are in the new catalog), I saw them in the Daiwa 2015 catalog and liked them since they were a TD-Z/Zillion frame but it wasn't until this past spring that I ordered my first. Now I own five with hopes of owning more. I have many Shimano reels and have been a Shimano guy for many more years than I have fished with Daiwa, but these reels really impress me (and seem to have a big following here and on other sites). Why all of a sudden did they become the "it" reel when in 2015 and 2016, almost no one was talking about them. Any input/feedback is helpful. Also, I think I want to try and customize one or two of mine but I am new to it so I want to be sure I do it right. Thanks!
  4. Every time I see that reel I think of this:
  5. When you did get it free, was there a screw underneath so you could change the knob? Thanks!
  6. What tool did you use? What cap did you replace it with? Did you have to twist it out and just pop it out? I don't want to damage the original knob or cap but would like to replace it. Thank you!
  7. The one that was just recently replaced by the LT that just came out. It has the foam round grip.
  8. Is the knob on the Daiwa Fuego 3000 spinning something I could replace with an RCS cork knob or other Daiwa flat rubber knob? Thanks!
  9. It does? I thought the Steez XT did but not the Elite series...that's good to know if it does!
  10. Wait a minute...is it the length of the rod or the action? Just kidding...but I have contemplated a steelhead rod for spinning techniques and river fishing for both bass and trout.
  11. The Tatula retails for $149, the Cronos for $169, and the Tatula Elite for $179 I believe but all seem to have similar graphite configurations. The Tatula has SVF, the Cronos has Braiding-X and cross wrap HVF, and the TE has SVF with nanotechnology. I already own both a Cronos 7' M casting, a 7' Tatula Elite M/MH Ehrler AGS rod, but am interested in the spinning rods as a nice match for my Luvias 3012H for neds, hair jigs, small tubes, and drop shot. Thanks!
  12. Any opinions on these three rod lines in the 7'6" spinning models both F and XF? What does each excel at and what is the best rod of the bunch (yes I know the Elite has AGS guides) but I mean blank, actions, etc. and graphite technology compared to each other. Thank you!
  13. Nice looking Ito.
  14. Maybe RH/LH interchangeable like most reels?
  15. Here's some info that I could find:Daiwa Fuego LT (Light & Tough):http://www.tackledirect.com/daiwa-fuego ... reels.htmlTatula LT:http://www.tackledirect.com/daiwa-tatul ... reels.htmlBallistic LT:http://www.tackledirect.com/daiwa-balli ... reels.htmlI think they look great! Hopefully they are improvements over the old models and the Tatula (which looks like it replaces the Procyon) looks like a nice addition.
  16. Sweet! Looks like an Ito with the new ZPI spool at the Tackle Trap and either some ZPI or SLP screws and accessories. I bet it will look great!
  17. Bassmaster has all the ICAST products for preview...there is also a Curado rod and a Conquest/Loomis rod (price is insane). I am sort of excited to see what Daiwa has to offer (since what Bassmaster has is stuff already out and the new stuff will be seen in the next weeks).
  18. Love my Luvias 3012H on a medium St. Croix Legend Xtreme...nothing wrong with the 2500 size but the 3000 offers better line lay and a bigger drag.
  19. I have between 45-50 reels so yes I have a serious reel buying issue haha.
  20. Has anyone heard of these (new I think) Tatula reels with cork knobs? They look really nice but can't seem to find more info on them...I think there was a YouTube video but can't seem to find it. Here is a link from another forum: http://www.tackletour.net/viewtopic.php?f=47&t=75246 Hopefully these reels are coming to the states. Thanks and best wishes on the water!
  21. So a 200 Curado J but what about the 70 I? Is there going to be a new 70 size? Or 50?
  22. I tested out a few Sierra rods and they would not lock down fully. Never saw this before with Fuji seats but I know what you mean.
