The latest sale thread
I wish that would have happened to me…FedEx came three times. Once no one was there and the other two they didn’t even ring the doorbell (we have a camera), and so I had to go to FedEx hub/sketchville to get the reel. Took me an hour and talking with 3 ppl there to get it. All bc a sig was required.

Thanks. Mainly referring to NRX line

NRX+873CRR vs. 893c
Just wanted to see if anyone else had any thoughts on these rods. I was thinking about getting one of these. Thinking about using it as a shaky head rod. Also considering an 852c. Have a 802c and just doesn’t feel as sensitive as an 822s, but prefer casting so trying to find it’s equivalent. Thanks

Prespawn: how do you pick starting spot…
I haven’t been on this site in probably a year just because of the dumb answers you get. You ask one specific thing and you get everybody’s opinion on everything else but the actual question you asked.. I’m not trying to win any friends, I was just trying to ask a simple question. But thank you though for the advice lol. I’m not trying to be a jerk, but it’s just frustrating.

Prespawn: how do you pick starting spot…
Does anyone read? bait balls or does it matter?! That’s the question I am asking

Prespawn: how do you pick starting spot…
Ok…I just mean I. Prespawn conditions(48-58 degree water temp) do you care about bait fish being nearby or does that not matter? If you find one cove with multiple bait balls, and one cove doesn’t… are you much more likely to fish the one with bait present? Or do bass not care about bait as much when traveling to spawn area and care more about location?

Prespawn: how do you pick starting spot…
Just curious if you guys pick a starting location (ie secondary points in spawning coves) and have a specific one that you pick out and start from, or do you have a general layout (secondary points in spawning coves) but idle around for awhile in and around that cove to see if there are bait balls there? And if you don’t see bait, then head to another cove? Just curious. I’m not asking where specifically you start from. Just….do you look for bait balls in the area first or don’t care? Thanks

any idea why less bass activity (topwater explosions) in the summer morning?
Yes, sorry if that was confusing. I was just referencing how hot it is out…pretty sure there is a direct correlation between hot air temps and hot water temps ha…at least here in North Carolina in July! As I mentioned in the original post, water temps were over 88. I was just a little surprised there wasn’t any surface activity at dawn… thanks everyone for your feedback. Just an interesting observation

That’s interesting! I have never heard that. Have something to do with the oxegyn level?
-
any idea why less bass activity (topwater explosions) in the summer morning?
Yeh I guess they have just been in a negative mood with 95-97 air temp today and no wind. Just no surface activity at all. Not just to my lure

any idea why less bass activity (topwater explosions) in the summer morning?
I'm down here at lake norman and noticed that at sunrise...it's dead quiet. I don't know if I have ever been on a lake that is so quiet at sunrise. I only counted 2 or 3 topwater explosions all morning. Could it be due to the high temps (88+)? Or have all the fish moved out and I need to change locations? I know that's hard for anyone to answer, but have you ever been in a circumstance like this? I've fished these same areas before and usually there's quite a bit of activity going on at that time in the morning. thoughts?

NRX+ 853/893 vs P5 xbites
Honestly, I had an x-bites and just wasn't that impressed. And I have several p5's and a ton of NRX rods. I sold it after a season...just didn't compare to the nrx in my hands.

How you find bass during the prespawn
If the lake is muddy…what would you do? I assume run the lake till you find cleaner water…but say you the cleanest you can find is 1ft visibility with 48 degree water temp?

How you find bass during the prespawn
Thank you! What do you do if there are multiple places like this all over the lake…any other criteria to narrow it down? (Eg bait, water clarity, water temp…)

How you find bass during the prespawn
Just curious what it is you look for when starting out on a lake during 47-58 degree temps. Are you looking at maps before. you go to the lake and looking for topography (secondary points near flats), looking for bait near the backs of creeks, looking for points near the creek channel... Just trying to get an idea of how you start out the day... I have a friend who cruises around looking for bait before he puts a line in the water, and then I have another friend who looks for particular types of structure and when he finds it, he starts fishing...no matter what he sees on his graph or the water clarity. So just got me thinking what do most of you do during the prespawn to give yourself the highest chance of finding bass quick? Thanks

Anyone try the new GLX rods? Favorite?
Thanks! Yeh, I thought about the flippin/pitchin rod. Curious how the sensitivity is on it. Looking at several models. 902c, jerkbait rod, chatterbait rod and a flippin pitchin rod (7'5H).

Anyone try the new GLX rods? Favorite?
I have to pick a new rod from the lineup due to mine breaking. Anyone have a favorite in the new lineup? Thanks!

Lake Norman Tips?
Had a good time! Definitely tons of bait in the backs of creeks on points. My dad and I crushed them the first day. Caught larger sizes on docks near secondary points on a jig. Thanks everyone for your help!

Favorite High End 3.5” Paddletail/finesse swim bait rod
Thank you all! I picked up another poison adrena 6'11m just bc a local shop had one and he gave me a good deal on it. I'm going to try that and see if it works pretty good; if not, I know several other techniques I could use that rod for and will be back at the search ha. I do really want a nrx+ 842c...hard to pay that much for a moving bait rod, but I just find that NRX rods are almost always worth it. Thanks again for everyone's recommendations

Favorite High End 3.5” Paddletail/finesse swim bait rod
Yeh, that's a good suggestion. I already have one of those lol. It's always got something else tied on though. Maybe I'll pick up a second one. I think I was going for something around the 7'2M area.

Favorite High End 3.5” Paddletail/finesse swim bait rod
Sorry…forgot to mention…casting only. Not a fan of spinning rods. I have them and use them…but only when it’s a clear advantage to using them. Thanks!

Favorite High End 3.5” Paddletail/finesse swim bait rod
Lost my rod that use for small swim baits today. So need to replace it. Just curious what you all are using. Thinking either NRX, Steez, GLX, or MB p5. I know you don’t have to use an ultra high end rod, but I like lightweight rods and just enjoy having that increased sensitivity. Anyone use a NRX, Steez, or something else? Let me know what you use. Thanks

Lake Norman Tips?
Appreicate the feedback. Do you find the areas where houses/docks are less dense are more productive? For example, the western side of the lake vs the easter/Cornelius/charlotte side. Or does it not matter?

Lake Norman Tips?
Hey, just wondering if anyone has any updated tips on lake Norman? Heading there next week. Mid lake.

What do you carry in your crate/blackpak?
Thanks! I’m going to be hopping from bass boat to kayak so trying to figure out how to sort things. Obviously can carry a lot more tackle in the boat. So trying to decide if I need to just buy all new gear and have completely separate setups, or if I can put a few 3700’s together that would work for both. Thanks for all your thoughts
