  1. Hello BR, It's been a while, I was wondering if anybody know some good places to Ice Fish in NH. I'm going to be going to the NH Fishing Expo on Saturday and then on Sunday I will be trying to go Ice fishing alone with my dad for the first time without a experience angler helping us. Does anybody know some good places to ice fish NH and if there is any tips I should know before I go ice fishing? Any help is greatly appreciated, Martin Sierra
  2. I've never had problems using a spinning reel with a swimbait, a couple months ago I forgot my baitcaster I normally would use for swimbaits so I used the next best thing I had with me, a 6'6 Abu Garcia Vengeance Medium Heavy Fast Action Spinning Rod paired with a Abu Garcia Silver Max Spinning Reel Size 40 with a Max Drag of 14lbs, and 30lb Spiderwire Stealth braid. I was using a 7in Lunker City Fluke on a 7/0 Swimbait hook, I manged to catch a 2.8lb LMB and a 3.2lb pickerel with zero issues. The braid did cut my fingers a bit while casting. It was a great day of fishing! I personally think the spinning combo you would use would work fine!
  3. Hello BR, I just came back from Boy Scout summer camp which I was in for a week and I got a couple chances to go fishing and caught a 3.4lb LMB bass and a 4.5lb LMB bass which was my PB LMB this year! I just got back from fishing for 3 hours at The Nashua River and was wondering if anyone knows what fish couple be blowing up like crazy on the surface. I'm pretty sure they are pickerel but, to my next question is if anyone knows a good carp rig and bait for carp in the river? Thanks, Martin S
  4. Good morning BR, I'm about to head out to canal in which just yesterday walking there I spotted a 6lb bass. Might not be a giant for some but for me it sure is! I know the exact place were it is, I saw it last year and both times I did not have a fishing rode on me. He/she might not be the biggest bass there but I sure think it is! So to the question, What are some good baits for a bass which is very finicky and lives with the most bluegills I have ever seen? The canal is very pressured, I have used the drop shot with a 4" finesse worm and a jerkbait and really killed them on it (not literally). What could work? Bass stage: Pre-Spawn Water Clarity: 2-feet Depth: 4-6 feet Bottom: Soft/Leaves & "Snot" grass Quality of water: Polluted Martin
  5. oh my god, are you serious? what happened?
  6. Great Idea for a thread! Here is my latest find! Jitterbug
  7. Hello, BR Just wondering if anyone ever gets rashes or bumps on their skin after bank fishing/going through the woods. Almost every time this year I've been bank fishing and have come home with rashes and bumps on my exposed skin (legs, arms). I've had some bumps on my legs after being thorned by some plant for around 2 weeks now. If they don't go away this week I will visit a doctor. I'm a boy scout and fo hiking a lot but I've never gotten this before. Does anyone know what these plants/insects could be? Martin
  8. Hello! I have a feeling I'm posting to many topics but, this is what it's for am I right? Anyways, I was just fishing in the Nashua River and caught some nice 10 inch smallies and I got hooked up once again and it was a super, super, tiny bass, not even 1.5 inches which had bite my lure which was a 1/64th oz gold trout magnet. What's your smallest bass that you have ever caught?
  9. Wow, I've only been fishing for 3 years and started to fish for bass 2 years ago...
  10. HELLO!!! Sorry, its been so long but my laptop charger broke and I forgot the password for this website cause I keep it saved on my laptop, just got a new charger from Amazon so it all good now. Anyways, I did end up catching my PB, wasn't an LMB like I was hoping for but it was my personal best smallmouth bass at 2lbs and 14 inches. I had caught some smallies before but very few. I couldn't catch it on my birthday cause I got a surprise party and some friends slept over so couldn't do it the following day. So I finally got to go fishing on Sunday, one of my best days of fishing ever. I caught at least 10 smallies, tons of Rock Bass, Warmouth, Perch, lots of 1lb bluegills, pumpkin seed and a couple pickeral. Most of the smallies were small 8 through 6-inch dinks, also caught a 2 incher. All the fish were caught on a tiny 1/64th oz Gold trout magnet and in Nashua River next to the downtown and mills. I never even see any fish in there, but I guess there was... I also almost caught a nice 20 pound carp on the trout magnet but, he bent the hook when I set the hook... I will be going fishing in an hour to see what will be biting since I have finals and I am being dismissed early, right now I'm in class on my laptop since I finished for today, still have tons of studying to do for tomorrow, which is my last final. Wish me luck! Martin Sierra
  11. A PB on a 1" bait! Amazing! Thanks!! It's worth a try! Will most definitely be throwing a jig & craw! I've never thrown a Senko... But I have a Jig! I got lots of packs of them but I have never thrown them, I have used finesse worms and had luck on them. Senkos are so used here that I don't think I will have any luck. It's worth a try though! Thanks, everyone for all the help! Cant react to the post cause I ran out for today.
  12. Any lures under $20??? Thanks!
  13. Good Morning yall, So tomorrow is my birthday (finally turning 14) and I was going to go fishing from 4 pm (when I get home from school) to 9pm-ish, its a pretty short time to go fishing, but I would like to catch my PB on my birthday, which right now is only 4lbs-ish. Anyone know any good lures to catch my PB? I will be fishing from the bank. Martin
  14. Hello, How long have all of you been fishing? Martin
  15. No, I don't, but will most definitely will! Great idea!
  16. 44-45 degrees is some cold water... They must be in the deep like you mentioned with that cold water.
  17. Mine is a Whopper Plopper for $12.99
  18. Hello, Just wondering what was the cheapest lure that you have ever bought, and where you bought it? Martin
  19. They also have great customer service!
  20. Welcome to Bass Resource! Since you say it is flooding I would think the water is very muddy. The fish go near the shallows when it is flooding in search of any creators that may normally not be in the water if it's been cold which I guess it has, they might not even be spawning yet and are still in the pre-spawn like all the bass here in NH. Fish near the shallows with a spinnerbait in white, shallow diving cranks, bladed swim jigs, or a kei-tech on a jig head which has been working a lot for me here. Fish something that makes lots of vibration in the water, and is visible to the fish with the murky water, chartreuse or white being my personal favorites. Good luck on the water! Forgot to add, use a white chatterbait!
  21. Great to see this thread is growing!
  22. I know which hooks you are talking about, they are at Walmart for $1.96 with 40 hooks included. I got a pack, there are four different varieties included, 10 straight shank hooks, 10 weird catfish looking hooks, 10 live bait hooks, 10 offset hooks. They are pretty bad and come dull.
  23. Zoom Super Fluke in Arkansas Shiner rigged with a 4/0 EWG 1/8oz belly weighted red hook. Or a Reaction Innovations Little Dipper in Bad Shad Green rigged the same way. They have both been killing it here in my lakes and ponds.
