  1. I'm pretty sure you can order online and pick up in store for free. They'll hold an order like that for 30 days before refunding your money if you don't pick it up.
  2. Is this the latest sale thread, or the latest scam thread?
  3. I bet if you contact them, they'll fix it, they even have "defective bait" as one of the categories on their web contact form: https://www.strikeking.com/about/contact-us
  4. I have to ask - if they suspend when given slack and rattle when pulled, are they really that different from shallow running jerk baits?
  5. Tackle supply depot has a decent blowout sale going on: https://www.tacklesupplydepot.com/Blowout-Deals-s/1563.htm A lot of Berkeley hard and soft baits, some Strike King plastics, and these standouts also: Berkeley pit boss $2.86 Missile baits baby d bomb $2.99 Bandit 200 crank baits $4.67 Zoom super chunk $1.96 Yum chunk $1.49 Zoom lizards $2.40 - 2.56 Reaction innovations small beaver $4.02 Colors are limited, but there's a lot of decent stuff left.
  6. When everyone is talking about throwing jerk baits in colder water, are you all using hard baits, or flukes too?
  7. If I've done all I can to get the hook out and the fish still ends up floating upside down, my personal policy is that it is now bait. At least it prevents the fish from being wasted.
  8. I caught a seagull when my live bait was bouncing in the big motor's wake while moving spots. Trying to fight something with a rod while its desperately flying back and forth overhead is an experience.
  9. What? Reels that break during tournaments or practice cost you time and money. That's the opposite of efficient.
  10. Lockett Lures is having a 30% off New Year sale https://www.lockettluresoutlet.com/index.html All of their soft plastics are shameless knock offs, but they are sold in bulk and reasonably priced. E.g. - 25 Ned worms for $8 https://www.lockettluresoutlet.com/275nedstick.html 100 Paca-ish chunk trailers $39 https://www.lockettluresoutlet.com/325chunk.html 125 Senko-style worms $49 https://www.lockettluresoutlet.com/125fattiesbox.html 250 8" Finesse-like worms $79 https://www.lockettluresoutlet.com/4finesseworm.html
  11. These: https://www.armysurplusworld.com/ecwcs-level-2-grid-fleece-thermal-bottom Grid fleece, loose enough that, if you had to, you could wear tighter fitting polypro thermals under them, but snug enough that you wouldn't need to. I've worn them sitting in a stand down to 5 degrees and they're great. $20/pair is pretty easy to live with also. While we're on the topic, I've found that if my hands are warm, the rest of my body is warm as well. A couple of zippo hand warmers are great for keeping the hands warm: https://www.amazon.com/Zippo-Hand-Warmer-12-Hour-Chrome/dp/B013HLGTL2/ref=sr_1_4?crid=3FWXIWR9TIJUF&dchild=1&keywords=zippo+hand+warmer&qid=1577996424&sprefix=zippo+han%2Caps%2C235&sr=8-4 Light them at the beginning of the day and they will stay hot for about 12 hours. Seriously hot, as in, keep them in the provided bags or don't touch them without gloves on. You will smell burning lighter fluid, but on the water that shouldn't matter.
  12. Keitech swing impacts and fat swing impacts on sale at Siebert outdoors - $3.08/pack for regular and $4.12 for fats. Limited colors left, but free shipping for orders over $50 until 12/1. https://www.siebertoutdoors.com/Swing-Impact-512.htm https://www.siebertoutdoors.com/Fat-Swing-Impact-514.htm
  13. I don't know if this is against site rules, but...I'll make this easier for everyone. https://mobile.craigslist.org/boa/d/foley-2018-bass-tracker-heritage/7004278195.html
  14. Don't forget the old standby crickhopper. The hooks are tiny and it doesn't dive very deep but it will work when other stuff fails. A split shot 6" up the line in front of it will force it deeper.
  15. For those looking to try trolling crank baits - my experience has been hooking pike to bass about 3:1. So, I use a metal leader to avoid bite offs. Pike seem to accomplish this just as you're about to net them to maximize the #&!@ you factor by forcing you to watch your $10 swim away.
  16. Would titanium wire leader solve your bite-off problem? https://www.rapala.com/terminator/leaders/single-strand-titanium-leader-wire/single-strand-titanium-leader-wire/Single+Strand+Titanium+Leader+Wire.html
  17. Has anyone found an inexpensive cover for a 120? The fitted model is $190 on various sites but best mixed reviews. I looked at a few "universal" covers for V-hull boats, but I'm not sure they'll fit.
  18. Wow. 121 pages and nine years of posts, and I killed the thread with two questions! In hope of restarting this discussion, I ended up answering myself by going with none of the options mentioned above. I found an older Sun Dolphin 120 that came loaded with outboard, gas tanks, foot controlled trolling motor, battery, fish finder, life preservers and trailer. It has some tears in the seats, dings and ugly plastic repairs, but I'm pleased with the deal overall. That being said, does anyone know if cracks like these can be fixed? Someone obviously tried to hoist the boat by the rails and cracked the plastic where the rails insert on both sides.
  19. While we're at it - add the bass tender 11.3 into the equation, also with older electric and gas motors, but no trailer.
  20. What's the better choice between a lightly used late model pond hopper with 45lb endura Maxx motor and an older bass hound with 30lb Minn kota trolling motor, 2 stroke Evinrude, and trailer, if both were priced close to $1000?
  21. Free shipping from Rapala with the code "shipping." Based on the email I received, there's no minimum to use the code.
  22. Thank you everyone for the suggestions! There aren't enough reviews about the Okuma or the Quantum out there, and as many people love Pflueger's as complain about their QC but they're heavier than the others anyway. So, it's come down to the Fuego or the Nasci. The only real difference between them appears to be that the Daiwa has a reverse gear and the Nasci doesn't. I've never used a spinning reel without reverse, but the only time I ever use it is to adjust how a bait hangs before I cast it. Not sure that's a real necessity.
  23. In anticipation of the labor day Tackle Warehouse sale, I’m looking at a few size 2500/3000 spinning reels with at least a 6:1 gear ratio to pair up with a Dobys 703SF. I'm planning on using it for lighter worms and small jigs. My budget is around $100. I’ve narrowed it down to: Daiwa Fuego LT Okuma RTX Abu Garcia Revo X Pflueger supreme Pflueger president XT I’ve purposely left off the Daiwa BG because I hate the reel handle style, and it’s heavier than the others. I have the Revo X and I like it, but I want to try something else. There's very little practical info about the Okuma and a lot of people say the Pflueger QC has been lacking lately. So, I’m leaning towards the Daiwa. Am I missing something?
  24. Here they are: https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/War_Eagle_Mike_McClelland_Finesse_Spinnerbait/descpage-WEFS.html
  25. I think it was 25FREESHIP
