  1. Mix it up. You could have a killer day. Sometimes it's better to try new things and give bass something different.
  2. I usually set when I feel them hit. I believe underwater strike videos are primarily bed fish. They will definitely nip and bite a jig a few times. Every bass is a little different though. I think bass hold on to a lighter jig longer than a heavier jig. Probably feels more natural.
  3. Lake Havasu is unfortunately getting overwhelmed with huge gizzard shad. Snagged a few over the years bigger than a size 13 boot.
  4. Good day on Lake Havasu. Drop shotting margarita mutilator roboworms and green pumpkin biffle bugs on a swinghead.
  5. Dink fest on Alamo Lake Saturday. Definitely heading back this fall for a good topwater day. 18 dinks on underspins. Trees are everywhere. Good confidence booster fishing a new body of water and figuring things out.
  6. Neon Buegill is excellent for older gen I Phones!
  7. A cellphone on a 1/2oz red eye shad.
  8. 8:1. Just turn it slower in the cold months. You'll appreciate the higher retreive rates after a hookset and a bass charges straight at you.
  9. Few from today on a whacky rigged senko at Havasu. Lake Alamo bound Saturday. Super stoked.
  10. Water temp as stated above. Also if you put your head under the water and hear this song the big girls are feeding up ? https://youtu.be/yTxsDZYX2Q0
  11. Neil Young-Old Man Led Zep-Over the hills and far away Tool-The Patient Jimi Hendrix- little wing The Zombies-Time of the season Red hot chili peppers- This velvet glove Ides of march-Vehicle
  12. Left shoulder surgery and mangled my right ankle ligaments pretty good. Took some time off in 2020 to learn things like gardening and food canning. Learned more survival based skills with all the craziness that went on.
  13. Easy to load up and travel. Super low cost to fish anywhere. It's a challenge in adverse weather conditions. The ladies appreciate the stamina of a guy that can paddle sun up to sundown too ?
  14. Zillion SV. Probably one of my favorite reels for windy days, light lures and tournaments. Recently sold my Tatula SV to the company mechanic. He's only tried a bait caster twice before the Tatula and threw it in a Lake. He loves the Tatula SV and it doesn't backlash on him. He's getting better now and backing the brakes off.
  15. Fish the conditions and a rough estimate on the seasonal pattern the largemouth will probably be on. Water temp, water clarity, cloud conditions, and wind give me a general idea on what to start with. Maybe try swimbaits to target larger fish. It's pretty amazing the draw power of big baits. If they don't commit, you get an idea of where the big girls are.
  16. Lake Havasu is wide open. Huge wave has pulled up ready to spawn. 14 today on keitechs swam parallel to tullie lines. Wind cut it short today.
  17. Lots of dinks but a fun day. Using the owner jig rig with Keitechs sungill color until I ran out.
  18. Wind permitting heading out early tomorrow morning to give it a shot for bass. Any tips would be appreciated. Thinking spinnerbait, chatterbait, square bills and a flipping bite.
  19. Love the Lexa 300WN. Search ebay to get them in the $170 range. Handles the Gancraft 230, 8" Magdraft and Jackall Gigantarel well. No complaints with the reel so far. Palms well.
  20. Cold water a straight retreive with occasional rod tip pop to change the action. Summer counting it down to tick the top of the grass violently ripping it out.

  22. The Zillion was finally given justice vs. the made in Thailand SV TW. It's as smooth and precise as my Steez A. Maybe a little bit smoother. Need a little more time with it but it just might be my favorite reel. I wanted a Steez SV but don't really see the point with the JDM Zillions. It's pretty awesome.
