Spinning reel and rod recommendation
Daiwa Fuego LT 59.99 paired with a Laguna will be about $100 before tax. I dislike spinning too but they are definitely a necessary skill set to utilize. A good drop shot rod will not be as good for shakey heads and small t rigs to drive the hook home. Embrace the spinning set up and have a drop shot/Ned set up a.d another for your shakey heads ect.

I have never...
I have never caught a fish over 1lb on a whopper plopper or buzzbait.

Are you a hammer?
I don't know but now I am going to listen to Peter Gabriel's sledgehammer song.

Barely any paint on my swimbait
Bass have more rod cells in their eyes vs cone cells which detect color. Some of the most beat up lures catch fish. I think we as fishermen put too much emphasis on color.

Baitcaster for top water
I'm with Scott. Most rod eyes are ceramic and braid shouldn't wear them down. You would need something with a harder rockwell rating to wear against it.

Bowling
Awesome Mike I will give it a try! I injured my wrist and hand about a year and a half ago and bowling with thumb fully in aggravates it. I will try a few adjustments to see if I can get it to work out.

Feel better soon and keep grinding! It's great to see people putting in work and keeping big pharma away!

Working to Stay Lean ~
Are you supplementing anything for joint health and longevity? I started collagen, glucosamine, fish oils and turmeric to help with creaking joints and pain. Awesome work and physique!

Bowling
I throw right 4 step. Conventional grip with my thumb half in to get a decent hook.I actually did decent my third game yesterday and was my highest game of the night. I really need to work on consistency and study more.

Baitcasting setup for lighter weight lures?
Has anyone fished the SS SV103 and the Alphas SVTW 800? The SS SV is getting tired and was wondering how the Alphas would handle skipping weightless senkos spring and little jerkbaits now.

Thumb bar won’t reengage
Reel type? I would check out YouTube for a complete tear down. Recently a tiny misplaced spacer washer kicked my butt in a Lexa 300, and made life difficult 🙂

Cold Water Chatterbait Fishing - New Video
I honestly wish it got colder here. The bite hasn't really turned on yet it's been a mild winter this year. High 70s this week. With water in the low 60s high 50s. Hoping for some cold snaps to really get them munching. The grass is still very green and healthy everywhere.

Best part of winter is watching it from Arizona. We have over a foot of sunshine today!

Biggest and smallest bass today with the B Viper 8. Awesome day. Schoolies working bait in deep grass around the boat docks. Got a bit excited watching them eat and setting the hook too soon. Couldn't believe how small the little guy was eating a bait that big

Bowling
My first 2 games I'll start at 30-35 usually with high revs. I think I'll try moving right to 15 or 10 with less hook and try to hit the pocket that way. Bowling is very interesting and aggravating. Getting whipped by a 68 year old lady named Edna is very humbling 😄. It's definitely fun though.

Bowling
So I got suckered into a league as a new bowler Tuesday nights. I'm starting to catch on now and it's becoming a love/hate relationship. We are bowling on a typical house shot pattern and I'm having trouble after the transition and oil is heavy on the back end to hook into the pocket. Any bowlers have any advice on what adjustments to make for late 2nd and 3rd game? I only have 1 ball currently the Hy Road. I don't really want to buy another ball as my other hobbies are expensive (bass fishing and guns) but will take ball recommendations if needed and pony up to buy one. Thanks in advance!

Do you find buzzbaits "fussy"? And what's your Love-Hate bait?
Buzzbaits and whopper ploppers drive me crazy. I've never caught anything over a pound. I have seen them catch big bass but they never seem to work out for me.

Large swimbait and/or glide bait preferences
Check out the Cheater by Billy Skinner. Down by Yuma they skip the cheaters with owner beast hooks back into cover and winch out hogs. Would definitely work for your conditions.

Suggestions for baitcaster tatula vs curado vs slx
https://www.digitaka.com/item/4/4/2/4960652310499 good price and they ship fast. There's an Amazon listing too, but Digitaka is legit. I've ordered a few reels from them.

Went out this evening to try out my new Daiwa Procyon AL dropshotting by the London Bridge. It was a fun evening with a roboworm. On a side note I tried the Seaguar Basix line and was surprised. No breakage with my 2nd bass as it charged hard under a dock.
