Getting a new Dobyns rod...
I have the Sierra 703, 734 and 735. 734 is basically a good light jig and Texas rig rod. I’ve pitched in pads but I would only throw the 735 in HEAVY cover like lay downs. I also use it for a frog rod and it’s perfect for that.703 is great like mentioned for flukes, senkos, lipless and chatterbaits. The 734 boded well for spinner baits and little glide baits too. Been using mine all year and so far I’ve pretty much stuck to what was recommended on dobyns website. I wanna check out a crankbait rod but I threw kvd squarebills on my 703 and had great success. 1.5. I believe that rod can do it. It’s pmeasily my favorite

Trolling motor HELP, barely spins
Yea tried tapping on it, prying it, at this point I don’t know what to do without possibly damaging it. It came off before tapping and pulling and since I put that new pin in it is much more difficult. Made sure it was tooooo tight either

Best custom handles, most durable
Just looking at them. Thinking about just getting a red handle to go along with the rockets colors. Glad to know they have good customer service that goes a long ways

Trolling motor HELP, barely spins
Ownim having a hard time getting the prop off. Haven’t seen anything in it. Bought 1/8 rod at Home Depot not thinking I need actual shear pins so the motor doesn’t burn. Tried for a good 30 minutes to get the prop off and it comes loose but won’t come off

Best custom handles, most durable
Had my revo4 rocket handle (right handed) crack on me on a recent outing. While it’s still functional I know sooner or later as much frogging as I do it will break. Also heard that that can be a painful experience. I see some companies but I know this is the best place to ask which one would be best for me.

Trolling motor HELP, barely spins
Was filled with Baylor twine and my little shear pin busted at some point I don’t know how it was still spinning but getting a brass 1/8 inch rod and making me some today. She fired away full speed just need that little pin. Gonna check it every time now I get off the Water. Lack of boating experience bit me. Did catch a couple in my kayak though

Spring is when I always run and gun
Very true most of the water I fish around my area is 3 feet to 6. Gonna fish the rivers this weekend that are substantially deeper and see how that area is. He grass is up on low tides though but the pads aren’t as prevalent. Gotta fix my trolling motor first though

Spring is when I always run and gun
God that’s crazy, I’ve seen water at 72 already, my honey hole is flooded with pads. I honestly feel bad for you guys in the cold, I hated the winter

Abu Garcia Fantasista and other high-end rods
Legend tournament from st.croix is amazing. I have a 7 foot medium and I throw Ned’s, softplastic swimbaits, little darter heads on it and love it. Senkos too. Haven’t tried much else on it but would definitely recommend. Got it at AL used for $170 cause it didn’t have tags

Spring is when I always run and gun
Very interesting, I didn’t catch a male either off that bed and typically they get to protecting first. She definitely looks like she was fanning, who knows. How deep was it you caught the second one in? She for sure looks more in the action

Spring is when I always run and gun
Yea she’s got some spawn wounds. I can’t figure out why either. Did you spot her on the bed or happen into it by luck??? Got my spawned this past Sunday on a glidebait fishing for snakeheads near blackwater

Trolling motor HELP, barely spins
It does increase with controls, I’m recharging battery to be 100% sure. Gonna get it apart tonight to make sure no waters in it. I was researching (too deep of a dive when I realized I got good people on here) and saw the control board. After work I’ll check it out. Also I did have braided line in before, pulled out a big wad but didn’t take it apart. Hopefully it’s not remnants that shot it and possibly worse

Spring is when I always run and gun
The only soft plastic bite over had is paddle tails lol. Skinny dippers and sick fish. Lipless was my jam early spring. Now I got too much muck in most spots Man last year I would smallmouth fish the upper and everytike I made that hour drive it was high and muddy. Weird how the bite is slow in spring lol. Good luck though maybe it will get better with the clarity

Trolling motor HELP, barely spins
Yesterday evening I was out and my trolling motor was working great. Halfway through I try to power away and it is going nowhere. Still spins but barely moves my little boat at all. Got a minn Kota Endura 55lb max thrust 12volt. Just wondering if anyone knows what could be going on. Battery was good, and never ran over anything while trolling. Did very slowly bump into a stump but was barely drifting at all

Spring is when I always run and gun
I been fishing fast this spring, mostly throwing moving baits all spring. Can’t buy a flipping bite and only can catch them on a Ned rig besides said moving baits. Most of the water around me is 3ft, with the rivers having some holes. I also have mainly tidal fisheries as well. My favorite technique is pitching a jig and I guess I just gotta plug away with it. Anyone else have this same dilemma with a shallow area? Also I have to beat pickerel off with a broom to try and get a bass. Got one by surprise that was bedding off the bank. Now water temps are pushing 62-65 at night and shoot to 70 by 3 or so. Haven’t seen bedding bass shallow. Things are just different this spring. Will say my best results have come with a jackhammer

Chatter trailer...
Asked this same question and had my best like with rage bug rigged sideways. Perfect profile. I take the top 2 appendages off

Snakeheads, anything related
They’re a blast. Honestly when they hit, it’s unlike any freshwater fish I’ve personally caught. They will bend out spinnerbaits quick
-
Another BPT idea....
Love this format, after constantly reading about fish dying from weigh ins. Plus I like it cause you see who’s catching, that means more to me than someone who could just catch 7 or so fish and 5 be big. Fast paced. Only idea I would have would be that they have more than 10 anglers fish that last day

People who know you automatically relate things to fishing
I’ve come to a point in my life at 25, we’re everyone who knows me at all automatically associates me with fishing. Now every once in awhile I find someone who shares somewhat of the same passion. No one who truly does, hence why I came here. I’m just wondering how people cope with having no one to really talk too about bass fishing if they go through that. How do we keep it bottled in??? Such a struggle life is haha

Spinning rod love!
Easy that the best noise in fishing is a blow up or drag peeling on a nice spinning reel. Spinning reels are fantastic as are baitcaster. The finesse game obviously suits spinning. You can do anything with either but I find it easier to dock fish like someone mentioned with spinning. Pitching little Ned rigs in lily pads is a dream. Dartheads, and dropshots. All I can throw but they are some of my favorite techniques. I can’t throw senkos on spinning gear anymore, well wacky rig I do but I don’t know it’s weird now with a Texas rig, have to on a bc. Baitcasting is just as fun to me as well. There are times pond hopping though were I will only pick up the spinning rod to be able to wedge myself in between trees were 99% walk by and just pitch so effortlessly with a spinning rod. Safe to say I love em

Favorite jig and trailer!?
Guess all my pics are over 1.46 mb but beast coast makes my favorite jigs. Great skirts, great heads and I’ve really tried to get them hung and I CANNOT. Trailers I love paca chunks, rage craws, rage bugs, and chigger craws. For finesse I love the little bitsy bugs, cheap and good. Basic colors too, tried and true The gycb hula grubs are always, always producing

Snakeheads, anything related
If I caught my pb I would care less about hooking a sh lol, congrats on that. Everyone says they are so good to eat, gonna try one this year. I’ve been in blackwater and seen countless of them swirling, only went once and caught 4 on spinnerbaits. Now I live close so probably gonna get addicted

Snakeheads, anything related
Very true, I hooked a carp one day and 32 minutes later I finally was done and back to bass fishing. If I’m in a big bass are, I agree anything is a waste of what I could truly be accomplishing. A lot of people especially my way have pretty much turned into snakehead fanatics it’s insane Hope it gets better, when I’m after em that blow up or first slam on anything else is pretty hard to beat
