  1. It is disappointing when your looking for a bass, but the fight makes up for not having caught a thing on that cast. What waters (state) you in? @JFlynn97 they for sure make up for it. Been fishing were they’re not as prevalent and haven’t got bit yet. Can’t keep pickerel out of the way for bass or even snakehead
  2. Yes, we are all bass anglers at heart. I been running into them in my waters, not gonna lie between them and the pickerel they can even out a boring day when the bass aren’t biting. Anybody catching them this early in the year? A lot around me on the eastern shore of md are and I’m about to take some buzzbaits and go out (hopefully catch bass as well)
  3. It pretty much is finesse. I don’t like throwing anything but chatterbaits and lipless on it really. The 4 I can throw anything basically with confidence. I throw only reaction baits on that rod, it is nice and wouldn’t trade it but get a 4 @flywall99
  4. I’ve been looking at it alllllll day lol
  5. Okay, I have valuable info for future endeavors, but I got a st.croix LTB 71mf for $170 couldn’t pass that up. Thanks everyone especially @blckshirt98 For getting into detail about it. Now I’m thinking Tatula, Stradic FK or Pflueger Supreme cat to strap on it
  6. The 703c is great for chatterbaits and lipless, even cranking has worked out really well for me on that rod. I got the 704c for swimbaits like fetches, 5” skinny dippers, jigs and spinnerbaits and it’s made me happy. Idk why I love that 703 so much. That’s precisely what I was gonna do I have a roll of 15# braid waiting on a Stradivarius paired with a nice dobyns spinning set up lol. My buddy just suggested gamma touch which I’ve been having really good outings with. I’ll be throwing 1/6 ounce Ned’s on it as well and darterheads. I LOVE 2 power rods and below but for the area it’s gonna cost me more fish than the enjoyment of that battle on a lighter rod. Plus it doubles for smaller jigs and t rigs when I gotta pitch around trees when I’m just shore hoppin or wanna toss a spinning set up for it. I had a champion 766flip and it was a horse I could toss around any tree and not have a worry I just don’t enjoy the stiffness and trust a 735 to do that as well
  7. I’m looking at the 703sf now, I know it’s not rated for drop shotting on their website but I have a lot of structure and heavy vedgetation were I live. This medium seems to be the ticket. Btw the 703c is an AMAZING rod as well. I got the 734 and 735c as well. Guess you took advantage of the sale too lol
  8. I like the Eva foam or cork. Have several sierras with I believe AAA cork that I really like Elaborate on a Phenix, I was checking them out yesterday and just based off of tw reviews people seem to live them but I’ve never actually had my hands on one
  9. I know a lot of people like medium lights for dropshotting but I kinda like a medium powered. Looking for a better spinning rod than what I have
  10. All caps I just tried and it works for me SPRING20
  11. You see lee consistently finishing up there or winning and Evers. Lee is the next KVD. Evers is putting his name up with the all time greats though
  12. Swger tungsten is running a sale right now on their website for 20% off with a code. Good weights
  13. True, I wanna get a good tip too. It would be a waste of a rod cause it did a good job for multiple purposes
  14. I have 2 tcs Rods, one 7’3 heavy casting for frogs and swimbaits. I have the medium plus shakeyhead rod as well. I love them, they are good rods for how cheap they are. They’ve been $100 for awhile on amzn, and they are on clearance now on this HORRIBLE classic sale. Back to the rods, my spinning rod is amazing, works for drop shotting, Ned rigs, shakeys as well. Gonna throw dartheads and try them as well. My frog rod was amazing. Threw senkos, jigs, frogs, chatterbaits even but I after 2 months (I fish a lot, 3 or 4 days a week) the top insert on the guide just disappeared. So that’s the only issue I’ve caught fish on it after but it frays line so I’m retiring it. All in all good rods for the price
  15. Keep your eye out for sale if you have not already bought a rod. I got a Dobyns Sierra on tw for $115 and they are very good Rods imo, I would save and wait for an opportunity like that. Maybe just buy a colt for now if you can’t wait for a sale. Stick to st.croix or dobyns. Best for your money. Keep your spinning tackle for finesse baits like drop shots Ned’s and little swimbaits. If you go on amazon tcs Rods are good as wel I have 2 and love them both and they run $95 to $110 but get a medium heavy for now to cover most bases. I can’t apeak for shimano Rods but like others have said if they hold a candle to the reel quality you cannot go wrong but being young, be careful with your Rods. I broke a lot when I was your age, now you may be wayyy more careful than me but take st.croix into consideration for the warranty. Also, on that note buy yourself a rod sleeve, save the tips from ceilings when admiring your Rods in the house lol good luck whatever you do
  16. Almost everything some brands stay out like SHIMANO of all brands did. Daiwa I think stayed out but all strike king and roboworms and sooooo many companies were 25% or more off. I got tungsten swim jigs from eco pro for $3 a pop best time to buy tungsten weight as well. Swagger is cheap to begin with they went on sale. Stanley Ribbits did. It was insane
  17. That does I sent them a dm on Instagram, yea you’re right though everyday during Christmas they announced it based on pacific time
  18. That’s not a bad idea using them on cranks, not bad at allll. Otherwise we have the same ideas. Frog I never use anything but braid, but I frog alotttt. No spinners I use flouro just using the rod selection I have I throw others on that. I see the crank idea maybe better for spinners and chatters
  19. There is some gooooood fishing in PA but if you go south go to Florida. A couple of my buddies and I went and slept in a van cooking deer meat in Home Depot parking lots. Fishing Everglades and anywhere we saw water. By far the best trip of my life and the best fishing but when we went most of the peacocks died due to 50 degree temps the entire time we were there
  20. Pretty much what I’ve concluded I’m gonna do and try out first. Just moved to an area loaded with stripers too so got some spooks to try out. Do you use a leader Glenn
  21. I can vogue for the dock theory, I was blessed with a trip the lake Anna this December on the warm side and drop shotting docks caught my biggest(about 3) and majority by far. Always wanted to venture up your way
  22. I still have baits from last years sale, but of course their is a lure or 30 I want. Don’t know if anyone’s heard when they are having it?
  23. Yea I remember he even said on a drop shot of all things. He’s one of the top dogs right now Thanks for the hook info that’s really what I need. I have those Aaron Grammys too. Just started drop shotting swimbait shut none of any size above 3.5”
  24. I’m gonna have to, that’s all I wanted them for. I had to know they stopped and didn’t just drop to the bottom. They have some good colors too. I have problems sometimes fishing my jerk air from a kayak so these would be such a nice fit
  25. Sweet pick up, but please elaborate on the ima suspending traps cause I’ve been putting them in my cart and taking them out for weeeeeeekkkkkkssx
