I can't see it well enough to tell the color.
  2. Yep that is what I'd use.
  3. I'm not sure what you are wanting to do. Are you wanting to completely remove the weedguard or do you have some flared out from the rest?
  4. I had to quit using my butt seat because of my knees. Both are bad and one has had surgery and the other needs it. It was different learning to cast sitting instead of standing and I just can't flip at all sitting.
  5. I'd be very skeptical of this battery as it does not show the reserve capacity. That is the number you need to be checking to see how long it will hold up to continuous running. I'd not get anything lower than a reserve capacity of 140 amps but higher is better.
  6. The only other thing that I do is take a drill bit the same size as the spout hole and (by hand only) gently clean the walls of the spout.
  7. I wouldn't do it without first buying a fish tape and using it. They only cost a few bucks and are well worth the money.
  8. Generally around here in MO the east wind is associated with the passage of a cold front and the resulting low pressure area which spins in a counter clockwise direction. That happens after the cold front's barometric pressure change which usually has shut off the bite, especially in the prespawn period.
  9. I like red jigs at night in the summer with a white trailer in the waxing moon (gibbous to full).
  10. You can do most but stay away from Gulp products. They don't work well when remelted. As you mix them you will finally wind up with brown.
  11. My setup will be a Curado E 7:1 reel with a Gloomis 844c rod. The bait will be a home made A Rig. I hope that will be late this week or early next week.
  12. Water on south facing banks get sun all day long.
  13. It would really help to know about your rig. Is it single axle or dual axle? Do you have brakes? How old is it? Do you have an actuator on the tongue? I have it all the time with my trailer. The actuator lets the tongue slide forward then slide back as I apply the brakes. I have had it rebuilt and it still is there. I called the mfg and was told that a new actuator would not fix the problem so I just have to live with it or buy a new trailer.
  14. The first time I used a gps it was very foggy and I had 4 miles to go to where I wanted to fish. The gps took me right into the mouth of the cove that I wanted. I have not been without one since and don't ever plan to be. So yes get the one with gps.
  15. It depends on who is selling as to what I would do. I'd be skeptical unless it is like someone on this forum who has been around a while or off Ebay where you might get some backing if it didn't work. I've sold a few here and on other forums to members and so far I haven't had any feedback so I guess they were working when they arrived.
  16. Since this is your first rig, you might be better off if you took it to a shop and had it fixed right before you get hurt.
  17. I like them because of their dependability. I used my old ones hard for 15 years, cleaned them up and sold them for nearly what I gave for them. Not one of them ever had to have a part replaced. I switched to new ones when the Es came out. I may never buy another reel because they seem to be as dependable as the old ones that I had. I never found that with the D and G brands.
  18. I fish a lot of tubes and mostly with the same rigging as you mentioned. There is nothing more important than watching the line. Sometimes I can feel the bottom very well and sometimes not. I get more feel with braid and a leader than I do with mono. Lots of times the bite is only seeing the line jump or move with no thump at all.

I make my own from stainless steel wires. Then I wrap it and coat with epoxy.
  20. It can cost very little or it can cost a lot. You need: a heat source (hot plate and pans or dedicated microwave and cups) plastisol colorant some type of mold maybe glitter a ventilated place to work Go to places like Jann's Netcraft, Lurecraft, Bear's, and Barlow's. Check out what they have to offer and see about starter kits.
  21. What you need is dependant on your motor and accessories. I have had to go to the Sears PM-1 agm with ll50 CCAs because I have a 225 Optimax, 2 hds units, 2 lss 1 boxes and run the aerator. With the draw down 1000 CCA batteries didn't last me over 13 months. If you have an Opti and plan to fish cooler temps running the aerator all day long then I recommend you get a bunch of CCAs.
  22. Seven setups on another guy's boat would be too many. If its your own then stuff them in the locker and go for it.
  23. If you fish in the "cone" of your depth finder you can see the fish and your bait. You can raise or lower it to exactly where the fish are. You can even see them move to take it.
  24. I've had them all over the place in the front. I am a constant watcher and when to the starboard side of the deck I got neck cramps fishing from the port side of the boat. The one I have right now is mounted on a ram in front of my recessed trolling motor tray. I like that better than any other way I have tried.
