Daiwa vs Shimano casting reels
You can’t go wrong. I own both and they are fantastic. I will say I use my curados more as they fit my hand better.

A lot of Tatula love in this thread. I have one and it’s been fantastic. However, I seem to pick up my curados more than the tatula. It seems to fit my hand better. I would suggest going and handling a few reels and see what feels good to you.

Welcome. I too live on the Ohio River just over the pond. Southeastern Ohio here. My wife and I travel up to the Richwood WV area on the cranberry river and fish for trout. We haven’t been in a few years but we’re going to make the trip in the fall. It’s beautiful country up there.

Was a member years ago but life happened and I didn’t have time to fish over the last 5 years or so. I don’t member my old username or password and I no longer have my old email to recover it. I sold all my gear and trying to buy everything back now. I’m from southeastern Ohio and a firefighter/paramedic. I work 2 24 hour shifts a week and plan on fishing many of my off days. Always anxious to learn new techniques. Looking forward to meeting you all!

Will the Rain Ever Stop????
I don’t even look at the forecast anymore. I know it’s going to rain almost daily in Ohio.
