  1. My wife enjoys going out on the lake, and enjoys fishing. But her idea of fishing and mine are a little different. She drowns worms exclusively. No other baits or lures. And she's completely happy with catching a few bluegills. I'm after a little more challenging fish, plus she's not a morning person at all. I'm usually coming off the lake when she's getting ready to head out.
  2. Back in the 80's, I kicked an Ambassador over the side as I was putting the trolling motor down. Heard the splash and looked around, and saw a spinner blade twirling towards the bottom. I dove in and caught it just as the rod butt hit the bottom in about 20 feet of water. Had an awful time getting back in the boat, but I managed. I remember that every time I fish that cove.
  3. Another suggestion to check out would be Lake James, just off I40 exit 94 in North Carolina. Extremely clean lake, and beautiful to boot. Lots of smallmouths come out of there too.
  4. I enjoy fishing alone much more than with someone, especially if that someone is my wife. She spends more time hung up than she does fishing, bless her. I'll take a kid fishing in a minute though, I love helping kids get interested in fishing and hunting. I have two grandsons, two nephews and a niece, plus my son-in-law has two young brothers, and I've taken them all out fishing at one point or another.
  5. I stumbled across this forum one night while work was slow, and I've been reading ever since. Figured I'd sign up and post a little. My dad was a semi-professional fisherman back in the 70's and passed on a lot of knowledge to me over the years. Unfortunately, I don't remember most of it and I'm getting back into bass fishing now, and it's been fun (and tough).
