Spinning Reel Recommendation
Planning on replacing some old spinning rod/reel combos soon. I have 3 I wanna replace. One I'll be using for weightless senkos, one for drop shotting and one for shaky heads. I'll be using Denali rods but I'm still undecided on the reel. What would you guys recommend?

Lake Ferguson
Anyone have any experience fishing Lake Ferguson in Greenville, MS? I'm fishing a BFL there at the end of next month. Anyone have any tips or advice on the lake? What type of structures to expect? Vegetation?

Good Rod For Heavy Cover Fishing
I recently made the switch on my flipping rod to a Denali Kovert 7'8" Extra Heavy Fast. One of the best rods I've ever fished with, highly recommend it.

Fishing Scissors
I use the Rapala scissors as well, they cut all types of line including braid easily. They are small and I usually keep them in my back pocket when I'm fishing.

I love our BPS here. Service is great. The time share people are annoying but I've learned to just ignore them. I don't even acknowledge they are there.

Spro Frog Sinking
I guess my question really was is this characteristic of Spro frogs since the one I purchased new was doing this right out of the box was filling up with water about every 3 casts without a fish striking it. I had been primarily fishing with Strikeking frogs and yes they will fill up with water but I may fish with it for an hour or more before it does if I haven't gotten bit. So when I bought this Spro and it was filling up with water so quickly it made me wonder did I get a bad frog or is this characteristic of Spro frogs?

Spro Frog Sinking
I'll have to disagree since I don't have this problem with other hollow body frogs

Spro Frog Sinking
I have fished a few different brands of frogs mostly SK and I know they all collect water to a certain extent. Anyway I recently purchased my first Spro frog and about 3 casts with it and it will sink due to being full of water. I understand I can just squeeze it and empty the water but I'm just wondering if I got a bad frog or if all Spro frogs are like this?

I hear a lot of good things about the PQ but I think the most impressive thing here is your reports and that you've stuck with it for 4 years already.

Frog Rod/reel Setup
Thanks for all the suggestions guys. I think I'm gonna take a ride to BPS and take a look at some of these. I think I'll probably go with that 7 ratio reel as a lot of you suggested. I do think that's important as a lot of time fish will hit the frog when slack is in the line. A high ratio reel would definitely help to pick that line up quicker.

4X4 Jigs
Maybe I'm in the dark but until last week I had never heard of 4x4 jigs. Bassmaster Open was on my home lake last week and Tharp won the tournament on his signature series 4x4 jig until then I was clueless they existed. Any of you guys use them and what are your thoughts on them?

Frog Rod/reel Setup
I had never been much of a fan of frogs until this year. I moved a couple of years ago and am now living on Ross Barnett Reservoir, lake is fully of lilly pads and tons of other vegetation. Tons of fish caught on frogs here and alot of tournaments won on them. This past year I focused on getting better at fishing frogs and they have now become my go to bait. So anyway I'm looking to upgrade my rod/reel setup. I'm considering the G. Loomis Frog Rod Series 7'1 Heavy with fast action tip from BPS. Totally unsure of what I want as far as the reel goes. What are you guys/gals thoughts or suggestions?

Randall Tharp Win Bassmaster Open On Ross Barnett
Had the privilege of meeting Randall Tharp after his win on Ross Barnett Reservoir here in MS. He was a super nice guy, took the time out to talk to my 9 year old son who is very motivated to learn more about bass fishing now. We attended day 3 weigh ins at BPS, it was a great experience to finally see one of these in person.

A-Rig
I'm kinda new to the A-rig used one of the little mini 3 arm ones with little success. Thought it'd be a great bait to throw now that shad are schooling here on my home lake. What has been you guys success with the A-rig and how do you rig it? The one I just purchased is the Mann's A-rig and I have it rigged with the Yum money minnows one 5" on a 1/4 oz jig head and the rest are 3.5" on 3/16 oz jig head.

I fish them weightless or t-rig them with about the same success. I use 2/0 hooks. You should do fine with a spinning rod 20 lb pp.
