Yall sound like a bunch of old hens in here talking about the gas prices.... Dude you can not fix it with a gas out....it will not change a thing.... A few members hit the nail on the head with plants closing down but also think about this China and Inida are not riding bikes any more their traiding up to cars. Cali and a few other states have really screwed up the market also becasue of there green thumbs politics. So if you dont like the price you got to pay.. get a Hybrid car, truck and boat .

never had a temp gauge on my OB so i dont know. as long as it is peeing a good stream of water at an idle your ok. dont run your engine with out some frog legs and only have the water hose on low and increase the flow if you can not touch it . As far as what you mech. said its true. You should check it for wear and replace as needed. Some say do it every year but it depends on use. I replaced mine about every 3 years because i only got about 10 hrs on it every summer. Its not hard to check or replace but read up before you do it. Oh you will need a gasket every time you open it up.

i was always told that my inline 6 merc was a hard starting engine. What i did was trim all the way down pumped up the gas 3 times and then choked it and she would fire off. That after a 9 month sits for 5 years so i must have been doing something right. Also dran the gas out of the bowls after every use but some will disagree with that just my .o2 cents

The sad thing is if they want it they will get it. keep it the boat in the garage and lock the door. Take pictures of the boat , trailer , gear on the boat BTW dont leave gear in the boat. Take pics of the HVN and engine numbers. Jet pump etc..... I always heard people steal props also so remove it and lock it up.

I tied to show you some pics of my side boards and my bottom bunker boards. If you must have a roller have it where it catches the bow before it gets to the bow catch. If you have to much trailer in the water you will never get it right. if it will not go on stright you have a bunker board problem and they need adjustment. For thought you can shime up the rear of the board that may help dont go over a 1/2 inch. hope this helps

Lock your hitch also. i run a heavy chain through all my wheels also with a big $%#^ing lock. Also cover the boat. Place sign that states boat is protected my 7mm w/ night vision scope or protected by ferocious wife who is in her luner cycle. ;D ;D ;D

make sure your key is in the off position thats all. and set you charge cycle at 2 amps. if you can remove the caps and check the level and distilled water if needed.

a buddy did hes out of marine plywood and sealed it with resin. Then he throug some carpet on it. All you need is a skill saw, and a drill .

did you check the hitch and ball for rust? Shake the trailer on the ball and see if that helps. Dont use the ohm meter it will just jack with you. Did the truck come with factory tow package? or was it an add on? Well what year is the truck there oould be two problems you are having. I will pm my phone number to you call if you want the help.

I am good with engines but not on Johnsons . My buddies engine starts and red lines in Neutral. What causes that and how do i fix it?

Go a head and deck it and you can install a live well, ice chest, and dry storage. I had a buddy who did it to his Montgomery Wards Sea King ... i know you old school guys know about that one he built it with a steering box, radio, and all the above plus he slaped on a merc 40 that little boat would haul some @$%.

Right #$%^ happens even if you start your boat before leaving the house. Most peopel are cool about stuff like that but there are aholes out there. You guys know i run a jet boat but GR went fishing last week OH i say i went fishing hahahaha Yep I caught a 22" large mouth bass on the 5 cast WOOOOHOOOOOO i tried to get the pic off my phone but with no luck. Oh to my point we got back to the ramp and there were guys fishing off the dock that goes around the ramps ... one got all up set because he had to pull his line in. The own of the boat told him his line was in his way. I told him this dock is the boat ramp not a fishing dock. Two on one so he shut his pie hole. i had the trailer back up and the boat loaded with in 3 min.

See you have all the answers and ideas of great minds.......If you are really worried about props i would jump in to a jet drive. But then you would have to worry about sucking in stuff. Hydrilla is my worse nightmaire. It clocgs my intake to jet and it can plug other cooling lines on my boat. what eats that plant? If something does dont fish for it...... All snakes have a thing they do and that's to eat ..... I will kill the ones with fangs if their in the yard. But if you have snake trouble in the yard that means you have a mice problem too. Kill the mice and the snake problem will go away. Those of you who come across rattle snakes that rattle don't kill them its a good thing. Now days they are not rattling due to the fact it gets them killed. The Eastern Diamond back is on the Endanger species list and that snake is on one of our first battle flag Don't Tread on Me The round up in Texas has caused a explosion in the rat, mice, and gofer population which cause more problem with cattle by getting there legs broken due to holes in the ground. Now a cotton mouth is the meanest snake to come across, the animal shows try to put a good spin on them but it's BS Just my .02$

we have a problem with water lice at the ramps here in texas also

use a 2x4 with some type of padding and jack the boat up engough to move the board in place. Replace nuts and bolts. Drop boat down and check then redue until you got it right. Use lots of muscle and tighen the new bolt and nut. Oh cold spray with Galvanize after job is complete. the final thing is crack cold beer with bros for all the hard work

Is good to see young american boys take something and fix it up instead of having daddy buy something new. Great looking job guys a few more of these and you will be ready for a BBC jet boat

Does any one still make a tube trailer any more? As you see in the thread 99% of light problems are ground issues. A wire brush and some elbow grease will go along way. oh if you have splices in the wires it is a good place to check for problems. If you find any repair and replace. Use a heat shrink over any connections that you can. oh check the wires before repair if you see green past an 1 inch go ahead a re- wire the trailer. i am not sure about your state but if dont have to have side marker lights dont use them.
