How to deal with people fishing right on top of you?
Happened to me last week. Went bank fishing at the river. This part has 3 islands. I set up all my gear and got one line out. On an island with no one on it.(Catfish/Gar fishing) Turned around to grab my 2nd rod to cast out. Some guy waded from another island and stood 2ft from my first rod and started casting. Mind you there was 2 other islands empty. I guess I wasn't in the mood to deal with it. I said to him " your kidding right?" he just looked at me and didn't say a word. So I grabbed my casting net and started throwing everywhere, Even right in front of him. Didn't stop him. So I grabbed one of my bass rods and as soon as he casted. I casted and snag his line. Just played dumb and said sorry. I did that 2 more times. back to back. He finally got the message and left. I normally don't care at all. Specially if they ask if they can work in and fish as well. I've never told anyone No when they've asked. I've meet some good people that way fishing. I've never been that rude to anyone out fishing. In my job I've learned to talk my way through some tough/heated moments with some of the roughest characters in sketchy moments. ( to say the least)

Pensacola, FL Shark Fishing.. Going Tuesday
Heading to Pensacola, FL in the Morning. Taking my Heavy Catfish/Snagging Gear to do some Shark fishing and what ever else bites. But Tuesday I have a guide lined up with real Shark gear. Last trip I had a guide one night and we had no luck. I did better with my own gear of the Pier at Fort Pickens. Caught two nice Black tips and two small Sharks. Not sure what the small sharks where. Our resort we are staying at has a pier but it's Bay side past Pensacola Bridge. Hoping the guide will pan out better this trip. I believe Hammers and Tigers are making their rounds down there right now. My Son caught this nice red Snapper on a KatKing set up and the bigger Black tip on an old Ugly stick with a 1970's Dawia spinning reel. That was fun to watch.

Just bought a reel, but 2nd guessing now
My Last Baitcaster was a KVD Quantum Tour. The Spool Tensioner Clicks. I like that feature. Out of all those they had. The LFS is the only one that doesn't click. The CabronLite 2.0 also matches the rod I have better.

What they had deals on Lews Mach Pro $50 Lews Custom XP $50 Lews LFS $40 BPS JM CarbonLite 2.0 $60 Looking for something that will be a decent all-round reel. Right now have it on a 6'10 MH Fast Lews Hank Parker

Lews Xfinity Pro Casting Rod, Need help choosing Budget Reel...
Well the Lews came in yesterday and had a chance to get it dialed in. Didn't take long at all. Only threw a Wake bait. But didn't have any problems what so ever. Going to test it in some thick stuff this morning. Want to thank everyone for their input. Going to check out the BassPro Catalog Shop to see if they have any there. Probably will pick up another one.

Lews Xfinity Pro Casting Rod, Need help choosing Budget Reel...
Ya it seems super smooth. Going to buy another from TW. Probably get the 7.5:1 and pair it with a 6'10" MH Rod. Same Xfinity rod. Hard to beat for $40 and only about $100 in the whole combo.

Lews Xfinity Pro Casting Rod, Need help choosing Budget Reel...
I have a BassPro Outlet store here that I need to check out. They typically have Lews reels and of course a lot of BPS reels. I found a like new Lews LFS 9.5:1 for just under $70. I think I might grab it.

Best budget SI unit?
I have a Garmin Striker Vivid 9SV I picked up for $300. The 9in screen is nice when split. Can set waypoints and make contour maps. Has built in Wifi so you can connect your phone and use the Garmin Captain app. I'm still learning how to use all the features, but overall happy with it.

Ascend 133X Trolling motor mount mod
Last year was my first year to have a Trolling motor on a Kayak. I was getting too much flex in the mount. Afraid over time it would crack. So I bought some 1/2in HDPE made a new mount. Hoping to test it out next week.

Trailer for kayak?
If you don't mind doing a little work. I'd keep an eye on Marketplace for a used Jon Boat trailer. I found one for $50. Sanded it all down, repainted it. I flipped the axle and remount my springs to lift it. Which makes it harder to float the kayak off at some ramps. But most my spots I have to park and use a cart to access water. I have just around $100 in mine.

Lews Xfinity Pro Casting Rod, Need help choosing Budget Reel...
So one of my Local Walmarts has a few Lews Xfinity Pro Casting Rods in the Clearance Section for $40. I was needing a new Frog set up. So I bought a 7'2" Heavy, Extra Fast rod. They also have a 6'10" MH Fast I'm thinking of picking up aswell. I'm looking for a Baitcaster in the $80 and below that will be decent for a Frog set up. The more I look the more I can't decide. Been looking at these 3 Reels. Was thinking of going cheaper with 2 KastKings one for the 7'2" and another for the 6'10".. or if the Piscifun Alloy M is that much better. I'll get it.

Catching Long Nose Gar with Live bait
Never tired cut bait for longnose... I'll give it a try this morning.

Catching Long Nose Gar with Live bait
What Size Bait would be to big for a smaller hook? I've been hooking them here... would I be better hooking them through the nose with a smaller hook? I try to use the smaller size bluegill or Shade. What ever I catch with rod and reel. Till I replace the cast net. Not my pic, found on google

Catching Long Nose Gar with Live bait
A spot I fish pretty much daily has a big amount of Long nose Gar. I like to set up a pole for them while I Bass fish... My Problem is my hook up ratio is low. My Rig is: 65lb Braid to a Steal leader. I place the Bobber to get my depth anywhere from 1ft to 2ft down. I use a Circle Hook and a Treble hook as a trailer. Then use live Shad or Bluegill has my bait. Getting Gar to hit it and run is no problem. Close to 100% hits.. I let them run stop, run again, stop again run.. etc.. Tried Setting the hook hard at different times. Tried Just getting a tight tension.. All seems good till about 5ft from getting them in. They seem to just let go. I'm only able to get maybe 1 out of 10 on land. Any tips? I've tried Rope Lures... Can't ever get them to hit them. I've spent weeks and many hours on them before giving up. Live bait is all they will hit.

Blue Angels
Always love Vacations at Fork Pickens. Good Fishing off their pier and get to see the Blue Angels fly by. They used to let you see them practice up close for Free, but I haven't tried since Covid started.

Best quality fishing backpack for the money
Bring an old thread back to life. I've been using an Academy H20 Express Tackle Backpack for 5yrs. I even bought it used off of Marketplace. Well it's finally falling apart. They are not made any more and nothing out now offers what it did. It had Rod Holders on each Side, 2 Big Size Pockets on top, One Netted Pocket on Front with 2 Plier pockets. Sunglass case, Sling Pocket and could pack 7 utility boxes in just the 2 lower sections. In the top sections. I carried all my Hooks, Soft plastics, Bobbers, Extra line, Multi tool, etc... Plus I'd clip a Lateran and a small folding chair on the outside. The was a BEAST... If you can ever find one. BUY it....!!! The Closest Pack I can find is this, but it doesn't have the Rod Holders. Which I really only used for a Knife Holder on one side and the other Rod Holder Stakes. Latest Catch Pics Thread
Last 2 Days been out. One time in the Morning catching bait for Catfishing for the next night. Caught 2 good sized Cats at once in my net. Then went out over night and caught everything but a Catfish...lol A nice LMB, Longnose Gar, 2 Turtles?, a Big Crappie and a Carp. Oh and a first for me. Caught a Spoonbill by hand...It was swimming up shallow spot right by me. He kept getting stuck. So I caught him and moved him back to a deeper area. Only pic's I got from last night.
