  1. Water was 65 degrees. The huge majority of this lake is only a few feet deep. The channel that winds through it gets up to 18ft deep.
  2. Well only pulled 2 bass from the pads. I haven't been on this lake since last year. The Lilly Pads are not very thick yet. Pulled the first bass out on a Dark Blue Senko and the 2nd with a square bill just on the outer edge.
  3. Bass Pro Jeep Phoenix Bass Boats
  4. Going to hit the Lilly pads in the Morning. 6am till when ever. Have about everything listed above with me. Except a weedless Spoon. Tried finding one at Walmart on my way into work tonight. Going to have to hit up Academy or BassPro for those.
  5. 20-30lb Braid With a Swinging Football jig has worked well for me.
  6. Thanks everyone... Tons of great info.
  7. Two of my go to fishing spots have large parts of pretty heavy cover of Lilly pads. I've tried a few different Frogs, but never get any blow ups on them. I've been able to snag a few Bass with a Football Swing jig with Senko's. What other options do I have?
  8. Sounds like a blast. We have visited that island a few times. We haven't been down there in years, but plan on going back soon. Would love to have the info for your crew.
  9. I've been using a 7' Light rod for Beetle Spins, inline spinners and light swimbaits. Been using these rods for many years. It's my go to for White Bass and Crappie. I've caught several decent LMB on it too. Shakespeare Micro Spinning Rod Light 7ft 2pcs.
  10. You can find Used kayaks in that range that you can stand up in. The 12T and 128T from Ascend. I've owned a 12T, 128T and a 133X. I haven't had any issues with them. All Stable enough to stand in. Their draw back is they are heavier, but the 12T is 77lbs. I'd bet you can can find these used in that range. Shoot I only have $500 in my 133X.
  11. Ya I'm going to call and figure out what all I need. If that's the case I have to have a bill of sale for both. Which I don't have at the moment.
  12. I bought a used Kayak and a used Trolling motor all off Marketplace. I've always was told even a Kayak with a Trolling motor has to be registered in MO. So I started looking into what all I need. Found this on Boat/Vessel/Outboard Motor Titling and Registration If I'm reading this right. I don't have to title or register my Kayak. It clearly says except Trolling Motors... I'm I missing something?
  13. Few years ago I bought a used Ascend 128T and a Cheap Baja SS for $500. Used the 128T for 2 years. One day while scanning Marketplace. A guy posted a new 133X he wanted to trade or Sale for a Smaller Kayak. I offered my 128T and he agreed to it. Quickly found out that I needed a Trailer and a trolling Motor. Trailer Build I also found a new Garmin 9SV for $300 and a new MotorGuide Kayak TM for $500. So I spent this week getting it all set up. So in my whole set up so far. I have under $1500 invested counting the trailer.
  14. Well I ended up finding a Brand New Motorguide Kayak TM. 55lb 36in... It was still in the Box for $500 off of Marketplace. So now I can upgrade to GPS later.
  15. The iPilot is a 2013. Not sure I want to gamble on that old of one I have to fix right off the bat. Basspro has the Kayak Motorguide Xi3 Kayak 55lb 36in Shafts for $730. Thinking I should go with it. Gets me wireless right way and I can still upgrade to GPS without buying a whole new unit. Does anyone here have issues with GPS loosing signal on Rivers and Streams?
  16. Hit my family pond for an hour. Good pond for a nice confident boost. Biggest 4.7 Smallest 3.5lbs. Caught 5 in all. Lost a few good ones too.
  17. I've got an Ascend 133x and trying to figure out what Trolling motor to go with. I fish mainly just Rivers, but also lakes. I've heard the GPS doesn't always work on rivers due to trees blocking signals. Anchor lock would be nice, but not sure if I really need it. I don't tournament fish. I might try it next year. These are the 3 I'm looking at. Motorguide xi3 $669 Wireless remote, No Foot controls. But can add GPS for another $449 later if I like. 45lbs 48in Shaft MinnKota PowerDrive $619, No Wireless remote, Has Foot Control. Can add Co-pilot for $150 or i-Pilot for$450 Also 45lbs 48in Shaft Haswing Cayman $669 Wireless remote and Foot controls with Quick release mount, No way to add GPS that I know of 55lbs 48in Shaft (The GPS Version is $1300) I did find a used MK Powerdrive with I-pilot, but the GPS doesn't work. The remote powers the motor and turns though. It was $300 and another $100 to ship. Not sure what it cost to fix the GPS. It's a 55lb 48in Shaft. Also no Warranty. Kind of a gamble.
  18. My Garmin 9SV came with one of these. Actually been searching online to buy more just like it, but no luck.
  19. Wow, That's scary. This came up on my news feed today. The True Story of the Bass Boat Hero Who Broke the Internet (msn.com)
  20. I have a 133X now and a 12T as an extra for family and friends. Last 2 years I had a 128T. The 128T was a good boat. Never had a problem and not to bad to paddle around. Very stable. I traded my 128T for the 133X. The 133X is even more stable, but not fun to paddle around in. If it's windy or any current it takes to much energy to paddling around to have any fun. So a Trolling motor is a must. Acsend 133X Pro's Very, Very Stable Pre-wired with Yak-Power Has built in Mounts for front or rear Trolling motors Has 2 laydown Rod Holders ( Big advantage on Rivers with trees) Plenty of Storage and Deck Space Con's Heavy 130lbs Some of issues with the Deck warping a little ( I haven't had any issues with mine) No Swivel set like was on the 128T Not the easiest to paddle - Going to end up buying a Trolling
  21. Going down to Florida for a week and would like to do some fishing. Anyone travel with Spirit and bring a couple of rods with them? How did you travel with them?
  22. Pelican Catch Power 100. It's 9.9ft and 75lbs. https://www.basspro.com/shop/en/pelican-catch-pwr-100-single-person-fishing-boat?ds_e=GOOGLE&ds_c=Nb|Generic|Boating|DSA&gclid=Cj0KCQjwiqWHBhD2ARIsAPCDzanFe0NI0ucpejZJtLP9-CrZszg6sidlmcsVgQQ9R7aPrc2GMyE_IxcaApFLEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds
  23. That's good to hear. Thanks
  24. I have 3 Family Ponds I fish. One I've fished for over 20yrs. It's small, but has good vegetation and is spring feed. It has step banks and is about 10-12ft Deep, but it's under an acre. It's man made, but has been fenced off from cattle since I can remember. I've pulled a few 3 and 4lb'er, Dads pulled a 5 and 6 out of it. The other 2 are a 2ac and a 5ac ponds. Both Shallow and for Cattle. They are very old ponds. 100+ years old. the smaller of the 2 is 8ft at it's deepest. The larger one not deeper. 1/4 in Pads, 1/4 of it is about 2-4ft deep. We pull 5lb+ multi times each year. They have a healthy population of Bluegills, Crappie, Catfish and LMB. I've got limited access to land that Johnny Morris's Family has. He has 4 Ponds that feed into each other. The Largest being 13ac but all 4 add up to little over 30ac... But these Ponds are very protected and only fished by Family and a selective friends group. They've pulled 10lb'ers out of it. Going to bank fish it soon. Not allowed to kayak it. Liability issues.
  25. I appreciate it. I'll pick up a couple of few Spinnerbaits. I've got tons of Plastic.
