  1. Does anyone know of any services that Repaint and Refurbishes Shimano reels ? possibly Customize them ? Has to be someone good out there ? Any help would be great Thanks and tight lines !
  2. Ok fellas ... Yes I know both great reels Question is ... What do you feel one does better than the other ? Pitching ... Casting... crankin .. etc. I do notice that the Metanium scratches up pretty easy ... Keep in mind that I’m talking pre 2020 models. Let me know your thoughts please thanks and Tight lines !
  3. You can find a Falcon 7”3 Jig Low Rider on ebay for about $100 Hands down the most sensitive and balanced rod in the $100 price range.
  4. Now I’m curious because I’d like to do the same thing. Possibly 7:5:1?
  5. Ive tried them all … Tatula's … Lew's Hyper and Pro and I cant see how it's even close ? Shimano Chonarch's and Mentanium's just blew the doors off of everything. LOL … both Lew's had issues after the first day. Really tough to beat a Shimano. Now if the Tatula's would get away from the T-wing mechanism they would be incredible. They are getting lighter and smaller too. There are some great deals on Chronarch's and Metanium's out on the web too.
  6. LOL ... Yes The long and short is ... yes your right it’s best if the knot is not on your reel. but guess what ... 1 -The leader constantly going through your guides is Worse ? 2-if your leader is that short you will be re tying it 3to 4 times a day especially if you catching good fish in any kind of cover. (That’s a major pain) 3-This is why you don’t see the pro’s throwing any Tatula’s. Like I said ... if they would lose that T-wing mechanism Tatula would be the absolute perfect reel. If given the opportunity throw a Shimano Metanium for a couple of days... I promise you will forget about Diawa If you don’t want to spend the money.. the Shimano Chronarch can be bought for $200 and is probably the best bang for your buck in a $200 reel.
  7. If the Tatula’s had a different mechanism than the Twing they would be the absolute perfect reel. They cast incredible Unfortunately if you fish with any kind of leader ..the knot gets caught in the Twing. I ended up switching over to all Metanium and Chronarch Shimano’s.
  8. Are the reels themselves different? And would it hurt the resale value if I decide to re sell in a year or so ?
  9. Has anyone bought a Japanese Metanium or Chronarch from Japan on Ebay? shipped from Japan need some advice or thoughts... notices they are allot less money...
  10. Thank you for your responses. My gut was telling me the Shimano as well . Dont get me wrong the Lew’s Hypermag isn’t a bad reel ... I just think that overall the Chronarch will be more enjoyable to fish with. The resale value is definitely important if I ever want to trade out of them. The Shimano in a year if kept in great shape will definitely be worth more than Lew’s. I had a friend of mine that fishes tournaments tell me that most Shimano tournament guys don’t get free reels to fish them. Most Lew’s tournament guys get free Lew’s reels. LOL .... that basically tells the story. I plan on putting them on Falcon rods. Tight lines ! Thx
  11. Looking to buy 3 reels Both cost the same and I have a gift certificate that has to be spent this week. Which reel would you buy ? The Hypermag is a bit lighter but the Chronarch is still light. Help boys ! Which one ???
  12. Has anybody had experience with Elite Black rods ? /eliterods.com These rods look pretty d**n sharp ! I currently throw Falcon Low riders and a couple of experts. I'm thinking about switching over … Pro Todd Hollowell uses them and speaks extremely high about them. BLK 72h Casting rod 7'-2" / 15-25 Lbs. / 3/8 - 1 1/4oz. / Heavy / Fast Action Suggested uses include: Jigs, Tubes, Frogs, Flipping *Comes Standard with our custom Winn grips Any feedback on them ?
  13. Maybe I’m just old ...lol But I like the color and character of the Pre 20 Tatula too... Hey if anyone has the pre Tatula in mint shape 6/3:1 ratio? If you want to sell I’m interested
  14. I have 4 of these reels in the various speeds. Best all around reels under $200 in my opinion. I'll say this … I don't think 7.2 ounces on the older model feels heavy at all. LOL … when I started using bait casters they were 10 to 11 oz. reels. I see this as opportunity to buy a couple more of the older models new at big discount.
  15. Falcon New Low Rider series rods Can be found for $100 on Ebay .. Incredible Rods ! WOW There is NO rod out there for $100 that is as sensitive , light and powerful ! Diawa Fuego spinning Best spinning reel for the $ guaranteed. $70.00 … AGAIN Incredible ! Totally agree on Falcon rods … The new Low Rider can be found online for $100 Just a home run ! Super sensitive .. light and Strong !
