  1. Finally got one on a jerkbait yesterday and friend of mine caught a 3lber on a shallow squarebill. It took four trips to finally get one!
  2. Not much else for me close to Denver as far as I know. Anywhere you’d be willing to share?
  3. No luck for me. Fished 3 hours yesterday at some boulder ponds throwing jerkbaits, lipless cranks, jigs and a drop shot and not even a bite.
  4. The past couple of years have brought a lot of new products for bass fishing. Some that flopped and some that became apparent in anglers lineups. Some that I can think of are spybaits, Tokyo rigs, Ned Rigs and many others. I just looked at the Jackall Pompadour and thought of it as sort of a new age bait. What are some of the newer lures and tactics that are now heavily used in your arsenal?
  5. Looking at getting either the Daiwa Tatula spinning reel or the Stradic Ci4 this weekend to put on a setup for finesse plastics (Dropshot, Shakyhead, Neko rig, and weightless plastics). In your expertise, what is the better purchase?
  6. Hey guys, I know it’s probably just as cold for a lot of you in the western states as it is here in Colorado. Wanted to start preparing for the early spring and get an idea of what your guys’ early spring setups will be. I’ll be starting with the following. 7’ 6” Swimbait Setup- 6” Huddleston 7’ MH Carbonlite Baitcaster Setup- lipless crankbaits 7’ crank bait setup- Squarebills 6’ 8” jerkbait/topwater baitcast setup- Megabass vision 110 6’6” MH baitcast setup- Football head crawdad Spinning- spybait spinning- shaky head spinning- hair jig
  7. Mostly Denver metro based lakes and parks... Quincy Reservoir, RMA and a few out by Boulder like Pella Crossing and St Vrain. Would love to hear if anyone has had any luck with bigger swimbaits.
  8. Hey guys, I'm located in the Denver area and wanted to get an idea of what kind of swimbait fishing people are doing in the Colorado area. Looking forward to the warmer weather and actually got out this past weekend and crawled a Huddleston 6" swimbait for a while with no luck. I recently invested in a swimbait setup to try and catch some bigger fish. My setup is a Dobyns 736C and a Lews BB1 (that I will use for frogs and flipping as well.) Coupled with a couple of swimbaits including a Huddleston, mattlures bluegill, a triple trout, Jackal Gantia and a Gan Craft glide bait. For you other swimbait guys, where do you fish them around the area and what are your go to's? Would love to get in to some nicer fish this year throwing swimbaits!
