sneddog44
Hey guys, I'm located in the Denver area and wanted to get an idea of what kind of swimbait fishing people are doing in the Colorado area. Looking forward to the warmer weather and actually got out this past weekend and crawled a Huddleston 6" swimbait for a while with no luck. I recently invested in a swimbait setup to try and catch some bigger fish. My setup is a Dobyns 736C and a Lews BB1 (that I will use for frogs and flipping as well.) Coupled with a couple of swimbaits including a Huddleston, mattlures bluegill, a triple trout, Jackal Gantia and a Gan Craft glide bait. For you other swimbait guys, where do you fish them around the area and what are your go to's? Would love to get in to some nicer fish this year throwing swimbaits! Michigander
Was hoping you'd get some responses. I'm getting into swim baits this year in Michigan and am trying absorb as much information as I can before I can get out on water that isn't frozen over. I only have the Jackall Gantarel Jr and an S-Waver 168 right now and plan to get a Dobyns 795SB and a Shimano Cardiiff to throw them on. At least that's the best budget combo I can come up with. Figure if I don't care for swimbaits then I have a new medium duty musky setup, lolz.
JLING1605
I am based in Colorado as well. Just curious as to what lake you are attempting.
sneddog44
Mostly Denver metro based lakes and parks... Quincy Reservoir, RMA and a few out by Boulder like Pella Crossing and St Vrain. Would love to hear if anyone has had any luck with bigger swimbaits.
VolFan
Bear Creek was always good to me with swimbaits. Fishing hudds and glides across points and on underwater humps was consistent, if not overwhelming. Youd be shocked what you can catch fishing wake baits at night in the rocks at Chatty. Catfish? Walleye? Smallie? Largie? Its like a frickin' grab bag.
