Got on a few decent ones today. Biggest about 3 pounds. Dragging an xzone craw on the bottom was the deal today.

Rod deflection
I may be mistaken, but I believe deflection is the measurement used to determine action. It measures the number of degrees off the standard plane. Maybe some people use deflection / action as interchangeable terms?

They were bought by VRX fishing products, same company that makes the rod glove. I think they are based out of Ontario.

Need help: Straight Fluoro or Braid to fluoro leader...pros and cons of each
As a couple others have mentioned. I run braid to leader on just about everything. Mostly mono leaders, but I do run seagaur abrazx on my t rig setup as I fish a lot of rocky areas and appreciate how tough the line is. I use a blood knot for the leader connection and have had no failures at all (knock on wood).

Fluoro: improved clinch knot or palomar??
Used the palomar knot all of last year without any issues. Just make sure you don’t cross lines around the hook eye and you’ll be golden.

Fluoro Leader Length?
I usually run leader approximately 6-7 feet. Just about the length of the rod without the knot going onto the reel. This length provides a couple of benefits in my eyes. I fish pretty clear water, if I'm fishing bottom contact in 5-6 feet of water I feel it's less likely fish will get spooked by my main line. Second, I like that I can get a few trips out of a leader before it's too short and needs to be retied.

300+ to spend on new rod
have a 7'2 mh expride and a 7'2 jwr IMX pro. They are both fantastic, I find the grip/reel seat on the expride a bit more comfortable, both fantastic rods.

Help with huge cold front, I’m worried ..
Right there with you.. this weather has been discouraging.

Curado vs zodias vs ex6 vs expride
Expride to me punches quite above it's price tag. Really can't go wrong.

Hook keeper
Those look pretty good. It’s hard to tell from the pics on amazon, does the bottom part of the keeper offer a loop to attach t rigged plastics without popping the hook tip out of the bait?

Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
Beat the bank with it for a bit yesterday. Throwing a 3/8 jig. Coming from the SLX rod, the sensitivity is insane. Didn’t catch anything, it it was pretty amazing to feel it bump off something and know exactly what I was hitting. edit* mobile really made a mess of that. Whoops.

Did success create your favorite bait?
For me, no question about it. Texas rigged strike king rage menace. I started back up fishing two years ago after having not since I was in my early teens (33 now). First year back I just had a spinning rod and threw a lot of senkos with decent success. Year two I got my first bait caster, started doing a lot of reading and watching youtube, expanding my tackle selection a bit. May 30th, I'm out at the dam on my local lake, I see a couple of kids catching some big bass throwing a weighted lizard. I tie on a rage menace with a 1/4oz weight and proceed to have the most incredible day of fishing I ever had. Little did I know at the time that New York was right in the middle of spawn and I was catching bedding bass. Must have caught a dozen in the 3-4.5 pound range that day, and quite a few others. The rest of late spring and all through the summer you bet I had a rage menace tied on at all times.
