  1. The monkey and some nice sales really did a number on me the past couple weeks… not pictured a nrx+ 843mbr that’s being delivered tomorrow to pair with the zillion.
  2. Dobyns 705 cb. I use this rod for ploppers, spooks, poppers, square bills, lipless, and jerkbaits. Mod fast graphite rod. Handles vision 110 jrs up to 5/8 lipless with no issues.
  3. I use a dobyns champion 766 for punching and feel like its as sensitive as any rod needs to be. Especially on straight braid.
  4. 10 bucks?? Tell me your secrets haha. I just spent 26 on ups ground from NY to TX. USPS cheaper?
  5. Either reel and either speed are great options. My preference leans more toward the tat sv and 7.1 speed. I find daiwas braking system to be more user friendly and am willing to sacrifice a tiny bit of casting distance for it.
  6. Tatula sv tw, curado 70, curado 150. All good choices
  7. They definitely do float up too. Looks great for slower bottom presentations! Good luck out there!
  8. The adrenaline craw is good for so many things. Most success I had with it was on a wobble head, crawling bottom. Good punch bait too. The 6th sense prawn has some amazing colors, nirvana and dark water bug are great. We’re on hard water here in western ny for another couple months at least.
  9. High action: xzone adrenaline craw rage bug 6th sense hogwalla low action: d bomb 6th sense prawn xzone adrenaline bug
  10. Xzone lures. For a beaver style the adrenaline bug jr, great colors and floating claws. For a craw style the mb finesse craw with a subtle flapping action. In warmer water the adrenaline craw jr gives some good kick.
  11. Picked up a dobyns champion 766 flip and will be pairing it with a tat elite p/f. Rod is rated up to 2.5 oz I believe. I typically punch with 1oz around here, 1.5 max
  12. Can’t recommend the 2021 Zillion enough. Light, smooth, great caster, simple brake adjustments. Hard to imagine anything beating it for the price.
  13. I set all my Daiwa reels the same way. 2 zillions, 2 Tatulas. From factory there’s a small amount of side to side play. I back the tension off another quarter turn. From there I don’t touch anything on the spool tension. Only adjust the the mag dial as needed. Sweet spot on the brake dial is between 6-8 depending on weight of the lure I’m throwing.
  14. Really like sufix. Have been back and forth between a few versions of power pro and found sufix to be a good combination of what I liked about original pp and super slick. It’s a little rougher through the guides than Super slick, but doesn’t hold as much water and cuts through vegetation a bit better
  15. Tackle warehouse discounts them during Black Friday. 20% off.
  16. Have caught a few good ones on the sk anaconda in June bug. Really nice action.
  17. +1 on the live target. Heavy, and the body is super soft. My most productive frog by far. Durability hasn’t been great for me, last one I blew the face out of on fish number 12 or so.
  18. If I’m not mistaken the elite has a 150 size spool, line capacity should be the same as the tat 150. For that line size, should be plenty of capacity.
  19. The monkey took me for everything I had. Being delivered 7/7 I’ve got the following: 2021 Zillion Tatula 150 6 Jack hammers Few packs of 6th sense plastics 2 spools of sufix 832 1 spool 16lb sniper all that is on top of the Daiwa BLX that just got delivered… you win this time monkey.
  20. Anyone have insight on those BLX limber rods? Eyeing both the 7’3 and 7’4. Wondering if I could get away throwing 3/8 and up squarebills, chatters, and lipless on either.
  21. Right there with you. Have a zillion on my expride and they go together like peanut butter and jelly!
  22. Have the 131, 40 pound test on a 2021 jdm zillion. Seems to handle pretty well, holds a leader knot with no issue from what I’ve experienced so far. A bit loud through the guides compared to the super slick v2 I normally use. I got it for free, probably wouldn’t pay retail for it. Doesn’t really stand out compared to super slick or sufix 832.
  23. Looking for a rod that can handle square bills down to 3/8 and whopper ploppers up to the 110 size (1oz). Would also like to be able to throw lipless on it. I don’t need it to excel at any one of these things, just looking for versatility. The dobyns 735cb glass stood out but not sure how it handles the higher end of its rating. Any advice? Am I looking for something that doesn’t exist? Budget is sub 300. thanks!
  24. This my go to leader knot. Easy to tell when it’s tied correctly and easy to do on the water.
