Punching ?

Featured Replies

Do you really need a very sensitive rod for punching?  I have never punched but it seems like punching doesn’t the sensitivity to react to a bite but more so feeling the weight of the fish on the line so with that said, is sensitivity like that if an NRX preferred to lunch or is it more a feel and action technique?

i see the dobyns 735/736 has a lot of love for punching

I use a dobyns champion 766 for punching and feel like its as sensitive as any rod needs to be. Especially on straight braid.

Dobyns Champ 795.  Decent sensitivity but I don't think it matters a lot.   Lift and feel for weight on a short distance with braid.  Balance is key though or it will get tiring.

Falcon Amistad. Not super sensitive but it’s all i need and the braid helps.
