  1. I just started fishing the shaky head. I am using screw lock shaky heads. I've been mostly using pretty decent size bates on them. I figure she has like half ounce and up, but I noticed that I'm not getting a good hook up ratio. I've gotten bites. I'm going to set the hook and I miss it. It's really the first time. I've noticed that it be like this is happening. I googled. I couldn't find much information, but I did see YouTube or a video from Bryan Latimer and he was saying that he has his own jig had shaky head jig head for this reason and it's not offset. Is anybody had an experience like mine? Has anybody tried his jig heads?
  2. Still want a shorter rod. i do a lot of underhand flips, so thinking the tachyon shaft might be the best bet. I don't know of any other rod that has its specs at its lengthS
  3. I don't see the benefit of the longer rod and find the added weight and length more cumbersome, especially in a kayak. I use a lot of underhand and side pitches and if i have make a longer "cast" i just use a roll cast which is pretty controllable. I'm thinking of picking up the megabass tachyon shaft.
  4. I fish out of a kayak and I really love pitching and flipping it's my go to technique and I've noticed that I don't really like the longer flipping sticks. I've tried a few of the traditional 7-11 sticks, way too longz. they just did just don't feel right to me they feel too big. anybody have any shorter under 7 foot flipping sticks? i prefer steez, megbass nex etc
  5. I am in a kayak now and looking to move to a boat. What's the smallest bass boat size but still capable of getting no around at a decent clip? i'm not looking for a john boat. Also, How do guys rig livescope up in the now? do they drill into the deck?? I'm definitely going to be adding Livescope regardless
  6. I don't think i buy this whole hull design stuff. If you threw a 5hp on there and if the plastic could support it, that thing is going a lot faster. I don't care what the hull design is. The issue is the plastic boat - not the hull. id bet money that in the not too distant future, motorized kayaks will be going 6-8mph. Actuakly now that i think of it, the EPDL from old town gets 6mph from a E-bike type of system. I'm pretty sure that hull is probably very similar if not exactly the same as the autopilot.
  7. Yes it's true, i read that as well the airplane prop def increases speed. However, it also appears to be terrible in weeds, so i've decided against it.
  8. I run dual motors on mine. the boat is perfectly setup for them to upgrade the motor to something with some serious power, it's a shame they haven't done it yet.
  9. I have the TB and i wouldn't say thata what i'm looking for way to stiff and not exactly sensitive. It's a great rod but for frogs and swim signs is what i use it for
  10. I'm not looking too heavy. Maybe 1/4 - 1oz with trailer probably 1/2oz + bait
  11. Thanks for the info, i mean pitching. Not looking for a long rod
  12. I'm looking to add a flipping and pitching NOT punching rodS to my lineup this year. i'm looking for the most sensitive option, most of my rods are P5, NRX, or steez AGS but open to any others i fish out of a kayak so i'm thinking shorter would be better. I'm amal thinking that af least one should be a little softer to allow for subtle underhand casts and let the rod slog the bait out as opposed to a formal cast. Most of my lakes are covered with Spadderdock and wood and laydowns, so needs to be strong enough but also soft enough to make gentle casts. What rod and reel combos would come to mind?
  13. i’m looking to add Hummingbird 360 and a Helix 9. Which model 360 do you use, i see there are several?. Has anyone go with the Ultrex or Fortrex model? Are they compatible, they are shorter and seem to make sense one kayak. will these work with a helix 9 on the autopilot?
  14. Anyone know of a good sturdy cross bar mount to mount a 2 screen setup on the autopilot? looking for a bar that transverse deck so they can be in front of me when seated or standing. I don’t like mounting the fishfinders off to the side on the rails.
  15. yeah my current rig is designed for maximum fishing time and minimal loading/unloading time. this is why i bring so many rods, i think it saves me time, i’m rarely re-tying. i’m also curious if bait could change things whether something is working or not.
  16. Hmm, i don’t take anything off my kayak ever. My tacklenstays in the crate, my crate stays in the boat my fishfinder and all other tools stay on the boat. only think i take off is my powerpole and rods. so far no issue. i even leave the fishfinder on the ram mount. occasionally i’ll take the battery off to charge
  17. I don’t understand what you are saying or why you would post this.
  18. the newport and the torqueedo 3HP are significantly faster
  19. I’m looking to hear from people who run an additional motor like a torqueeso or newport on the rear. The purpose of the dual motor is the rear motor is for speed and for getting to and from fishing spots. The minnkota is for fishing. I’m not looking to run both at the same time. Flat question is anyone do this? second question is how? the autopilot has a rear rudder, do you mount the motor off to the side?m or remove the rudder and use the motor or an accessory? looking for thoughts. if i go the 2 motor route, i’m leaning towards mounting to the side band leaving the stock rudder. I’ve seen the hobie lynx with a bixpy do this and other kayaks but not sure if this would work with a more powerful motor. Any thoughts?
  20. i have a power pole mounted in the holes already. i’m thinking of just getting a stronger plastic bin and 3M mounting the bin as a container with maybe some bungees to keep it secure.
  21. bixpy motor. the battery paavo has 4 holes that would be great to mount to a screw coming through the hole of the kayak. very easy to remove quickly for charging but laps then secure for use on the water because the lynx is a very flat and open deck
