  1. Looking for feedback on this rod. Looking at the NRX lineup - Where does this model shine given so many options like the 821nrr, 822dsr, 822syr, and the 852/872? whats the puropose of this rod in the lineup and lastly how would it compare to the conquest 843s? Thanks
  2. How would you rank these in terms of lightest to heaviest duty and what lure weight range would be the maximum for each reel? Thanks
  3. Im more looking for feedback on how thse models compare to each other. Where does one shince over the other. PS referring to Alphas Air TW
  4. These rods have similar specs. Anyone have any time with both. Which do you prefer for what? Thanks in advance.
  5. Thanks - Any thoughts on the NRX 852 or 872 vs the one?
  6. How do these Daiwa BFS reels compare? I don't understand the differences and where one would be preferred. Just looking for an all around BFS baitcaster Alphas SS Air SV Lite
  7. Can someone tell me the difference between these 2 reels? Daiwa Steez Limited SV TW vs Daiwa Steez SV TW
  8. Why dont you like round reels? So it sounds like I should just go with what feel right. A Steez CT can certainly hanlde punchin gup to 2 oz or thoriwng a bigger swimbait, if I choose to do so? I just want to know where the limits (generally) are with each reel.
  9. So how would you characterize the reels listed, which are lighter duty and which are heavier duty and how would you further categorize them in what their suited best for? So, what you’re saying is that there is no need to think of these reels in terms of limitations, they can handle any lures or applications, it’s more of a personal preference?
  10. As a newbie to bass fishing, i had to familiarize myself with rod brands, actions, lengths and powers and understand where rods shine and the applications and limitations, pros and cons within. I think i have a good understanding of that now so thank you to the kind people who have helped me thus far. Now i need some help when it comes to reels. I am still not clear on understanding the power and strengths of certain reels compared to others, where each one shines over others and the limitations as well, in terms of applications and weights of lures etc, so i need some help So before i ask the questions, let me just say that if anyone feels the need to insult my inexperience or my curiosity - please do us both the favor and don’t comment. No need for that, move on. I’m only asking those who want to help, provide personal experience and insight. Of the reels listed below, 1) how would rank them in terms of handling lightweight vs heavy weight applications (lightest to heaviest)? i listed them in the order i would rank them i terms of duty. 2) What would be the range of weights (or applications/techniques) in ounces that each reel could handle, min to max. i broke them out in 2 categories, low profile reels and round reels Thank you in advance for any feedback. Low profile reels Steez CT SV Zillion SV TW Steez SV Steez A metanium DC Zillion HD Antares MD DC Lews SD Shimano Tranx Round reels Calcutta Conquest 100 Calcutta Conquest 200 Calcutta Conquest 300 Cardiff 300
  11. Any feedback on this would be appreciated
  12. Followup question. is the Metanium well suited to handle heavier techniques up to 2 - 2.5oz, like some small swimbaits?
  13. Looking for a versatile sensitive spinning rod for finesse applications mainly but really an all around spinning rod. Would like to hear from anyone who has experience with either of these rods and how they compare in terms of power and sensitivtiy. Thanks in advance.
  14. Can you give me an idea of the max weight for lure for the Steez SV?
  15. How do these 2 reels compare? What would you say is the maximum lure weight these can handle? Are the suited better for specific techniques? or specific weights? what would each reel be rated for lure weight? What are the gear ratios for each reel?
  16. Thanks. What would ne the Steez SV max weight?
  17. Curious if it would work fine for flipping and punching and other heavier cover applications up to 2oz?
  18. From what I read, these reels are meant to make very long casts with specific weights. Is it fair to say than if the weight is too light or you dont make an aggressive bombing cast, the reel will backlash or will it just not cast far?
  19. so 8s for bottom techniques, buzzbaits, anything else? how about jerkbaits? someone said faster speeds for life’s yiu work with the rod, and slower reels for lures you work with the reel
  20. Interesting hearing the varying opinions. Initially i felt, it’s probably easier to slow down reeling than speeding up. Slowing down is a calmer and more relaxed motion than cranking fast but i heard a lot of people prefer to speed up than slow down. for those that prefer the latter, i’d love to understand why. Prefer slower reels to speed up.
  21. Do you think 8.1 is too high for top-water retrieving techniques like buzz bait, whopper ploppers? Do you think they are versatile or do you prefer slower reels?
