  1. Do you really need a very sensitive rod for punching? I have never punched but it seems like punching doesn’t the sensitivity to react to a bite but more so feeling the weight of the fish on the line so with that said, is sensitivity like that if an NRX preferred to lunch or is it more a feel and action technique? i see the dobyns 735/736 has a lot of love for punching
  2. What gear ratio? I was leaning towards a Tranx but again wasn’t sure in gear rario? Dobyns 806 for swimbaits and mostly A-rigs, would you go Tranx or Lexa HD and what gear rario?
  3. what would you reccomend? i’ll be using it for A-rigs and Swimbaits
  4. didn’t realize they were fragile
  5. My ranking is as follows 1) Megabass P5 - just so incredibly well done, not as sensitive as NRX but more enjoyable to fish with, the sleek design and balancing and grip, just make it the most enjoyable 2) NRX - obvious reasons - sensitivity 3) Conquest - they don’t enough love prob because they’re soo expensive, could be number one just don’t like the full coke grips. 4) Dobyns Champ XP - can’t say enough good about them. never tried the xtasy series 5) St Croix Legend/Legend Xtreme - also really sensitive but they don’t wow me. have not tried poison adrena or steez ags.
  6. I don’t see much feedback on these as compared to other brands so i appreciate the input and feedback
  7. really curious where the steez ags rods would come into play in peoples experiences as well
  8. i can’t find the forum now, but basically they said it’s not as smooth as other reels in this price range and the certate is a way better reel.
  9. i’ve read negative reviews and just curious before i pull the trigger
  10. To you, no judgement here - what makes it worth it? just curious
  11. Dobyns 806 HSB to throw A-rigs and swimbaits Dobyns 804 for carolina rogs Dobyns 736 glass for chatter baits would a zillion sv work fine for all 3?
  12. is the steez still suitable for MH, heavy bass fishing? or is it a bfs reel?
  13. This is purely subjective, but in your experience (which would be a helpful qualifier in your response) what High-end brand casting rods represent the ultimate to you in either versatility, power, sensitivity, etc. Names come to mind such as conquest, nrx, megabass destroyer p5, steez ags, dobyns xtasy, poison adrena, etc, etc would love to hear how you would Rank the top end rods from your perspective, however you choose to rank them/ thisnis an open ended poll. just want to hear your experiences with high end brands
  14. i’ve had both reels and aside from the size difference the zillion seems as good in every way, i don’t see any other difference than size. anyone else have thoughts? In fact some of my zillions seem to cast farther but it could be individual settings
  15. Anyone have any experience or feedback on the AGS casting rods. Would like to hear your thoughts on sensitivity power ratings, strengths and weaknesses compared to other higher end rods. Thanks!
  16. Looking for feedback on the Luvias LT spinning reel. Thanks in advance.
  17. What Dobyns rod makes for the best frog rod?
  18. Anyone have any experience with how the zillion HD compares to the Antares MD? Lookng for a reel to throw bigger swim baits, glide baits, etc.
  19. Anyone have any info or experiences as to how these 2 reels stack up?
  20. That is great info thank you!!!
  21. Irod bama rig special is another consideration.
  22. I dont think it’s not strong enough for an A-Rog. I mean an A-rig had to weight at least 2oz if not more. How could this be a good rod for the A-Rig? i don’t get the reviews and am questioning if this could work or if i should look at a different rod.
  23. Looking for a Dobyns A-Rig rod. i’ve heard reports the 804 champ xp is a good rod but it’s only rated to 1 1/2 oz. I have to imagine that an average sized A-rig rod would be at least 3 oz. Anyone have any good rods to recommend i prefer Dobyns rods for this use but open to other suggestions
