  1. Thats what I thought but apparently the 804 is a great A-rig rod. Read the reviews https://dobynsrods.com/product/dc-804c/#reviews
  2. I decided to pick one of these up to dedicate towards the A-Rig. I am thinking of a good reel for it, leaning towards the the zillion HD. Would the HD be too much reel for that rod or would a zillion sv tw be better?
  3. I agree the more i use them the more i grow fond of them. I also like that they are technique specific and build rods for specific purposes
  4. Why? just curious to understand. Why not on Casting?
  5. So I decided on getting a pickup for my next truck but it will have a shorter bed 5'7in. If I want to transport a larger kayak, 12 feet, will it be secure with Tie dowsn, is there anything else I would need to keep it secure and safe? For those with trucks and shorter beds I would like to listen to how you approach it. Thank you!
  6. I see Daiwa makes a steez AGS drop shot model and I always assumed drop shotting was done on spinning gear. Anyone drop shot with casting gear?
  7. i see a lot of love for 764 glass rod, st least i think that’s the number, it’s a chatter bait rod
  8. So 867 would work for Deps and Hudds 6/8in?
  9. Interesting. I just think it makes sense becuase its a vertical presentation and jigging for other species like crappie is used with spinning gear. I dont have a rationale other than it seems logical to use a rod with the reel under the rod. Is there a reason it doesnt make sense? Just curios.
  10. Thanks. Is the 807 comprable to the 867. Thats what I have for Hudds and Deps
  11. O appreciate the thoughts. Since jogging is a vertical action, would a spinning rod make more sense? Also, if i went with a spinning rod, would a Med or MH be preferred. I don’t see myself using huge spoons just standard bass size.
  12. Anyone have any experience with the 806hsb
  13. Do people consider glide baits wake baits? I see some wake baits advertised as such, but in reality they are topwater. To me a wake bait is partially below the surface or just under the surface to create the "Wake"
  14. Anyone have any good wake baits they like. I fell in love with the Spro Rat this year, not truly a wake bait but it doesnt go deep at all. I also enjoyed a snake from save I think. Fun Bites! Anything else that you love to use that would be considered a wake bait?
  15. Considering the conquest 844c vs the Megabass P5 Destoryer Madbull Has anyone tried either of these for topwater walking baits?
  16. Interesting. Do you think you would have not caught them with a spinnerbait or a regular jig?
  17. The color of the Rod name on the rod coincides with the color wheel, interestingly enough.
  18. So Im thinking a MH powered rod. Would a Baitcaster or spinning set up be preferred, Im leaning towards spinning. Would a conquest MH be suitable for 4in spoons?
  19. I saw a youtuber kill them on this technique. he has a great channel.
  20. inreally don’t get swim jigs. it’s basically a spinner bait without the blade and maybe a trailer on it. i can’t imagine a scenario where either a jig with a trailer on it or a spinner bait wouldn’t work but a swim jig would? it’s the one technique/bait that i really don’t understand. Am i right or wrong - what am i missing?
  21. Does anyone have any recommendations for a Bass specific Spoon rig? Rod and reel?
  22. I have a few Dobyns rods and I have to say that I am impressed. The rods are all very sensitive and I have come to appreciate the value they provide. I went to their site - they have soo many rods and series. I am just curious, in your experience, what rods/series do they shine. For example I found that there is a lot of love for their Champion XP Glass rods for Chatterbaits. Obviously the drop shot love is there for the 701. They have a big swimbait following with the 867 etc. Are there any rods/applications/techniques that they really shine?
