  1. I know this is an old thread but what is a good reel for the Dobyns 736 glass for chatterbaits?
  2. I found this wheel a long time ago so thought I would share.
  3. that’s cool? but o would prefer an open deck
  4. Anyone have any experience with either of these? looking for something ultra portable but also stable to stand and fish. Any feedback or experiences would be appreciated.
  5. Yes i think that’s it the algae. As this floats and sinks does it affect the fishing? are there are good rules of thumb to follow? I also know there is one pond that i that has more of a grass on top and some times it sinks, and others it’s on top very strange
  6. I’ve noticed in several ponds i fish that sometimes there are weeds and mats on the surface one day and then a few days later it’s not there, it sinks. Aside from wind, how often does this happen in ponds and small bodies of water
  7. really how difficult found it be to put into a truck bed?
  8. That’s kind of what i was thinking anything 3-4 power goes toward metanium but steez would work, anything 3 power and under would goes toward steez but metanium would work as well. i just need some delineation between the two and the only think i can come up with is heavier powered rods and weights of applications lean more toward metanium. Does that make sense?
  9. i have both and like them equally. i just don’t really know where it would use one over the other and why. i understand preference and price point influence peoples decisions but they are both really nice reels. i was just curious why you prefer one over the other and where one might shine vs the other. i have several NRX+ rods i’m trying to pair them with and want to understand where one would shine over the other. Steez has a better lower profile and weight. i like the small compact design. brakes are awesome, great distance. to me that makes it better for the lighter powered rods Met Dc is a little bigger heavier awesome brakes and distance, so in my mind that might make it better for heavier powered rods Its really about which would pair better with certain rods from a balance and use perspective any further help or experiences or thoughts would be appreciated
  10. I’m thinking of using the steez would be better suited for lighter applications and the Met DC for heavier stuff like jigs, and heavier baits. i know the DC is a little bigger profile and have to imagine heavier so may balance out heavier power rods better. Would that make sense? maybe a met Dc on like an 894 or 873 have the steez better suited for a 893 or 852.
  11. I’m not familiar with the metanium B, are you referring to the MGL B. How does that compare in size and weight to a met DC? or a steez?
  12. Which reel would you prefer to lair with the NRX 852c, a metanium DC or a Steez CT SV TW? the steez is lower profile but not sure which pairs better and provides better balance. is there any advantage of one over the other aside from looks.
  13. Man I am torn. Being in the market for a new vehicle. The Pickup seems to be the logical choice and I dont see why I cant easily load and unload the kayak into the bed and cart to the water using something lilke the boon dox wheels. The pickup seems the obvious choice for convenience. But the rods and internal storage and lack of passengers just to have a kayak is an issue. Getting an SUV would be much more convenient for the family and also allow for more internal storage but that would essentially require a trailer which I did nto want to go down that road but perhaps I should??
  14. Anyone have any preference of these two models? Which do you prefer and why
  15. ok so now what kind of trailer do i look for?
  16. so far most people lug it in the truck of a bed but that doesn’t appear to be preference. trailer seems to be ldeal, so much for quick and easy but i guess this isn’t that kind of kayak
  17. Thinking of a Pro-Angler 12, so i am curious to those who have them - How do you transport your pro angler and why? I'd also like to hear about the pros and cons of the method you use. If you could pick any car or vehicle moving fwd. how would you prefer to transport it, what would be the best solution in your opinion. 1) Car-Top 2) Inside Bed of Pickup 3) Trailer 4) Other??
  18. Thanks. I've seen this referred to as bubba-shot
  19. so indont really see a purpose oknseems to be the consensus generally speaking. if that true, would it be fair to say that Medium Heavy and Heavy power spinning rods are less popular for bass fishing than medium and medium light spinning rods, since spinning gear flr bass seems to be favored for lighter applications?
  20. I would be interested in hearing what you prefer each for, specifically.
  21. Anyone have these or have experience with how they compare? I guess the spin jig is better suited for moving baints and the JWR is better suited for bottom fishing. Is that correct, is there anyhting else that I am missing?
  22. Interesting I havent thought about that. Thanks.
  23. so if it’s more about weight than technique, would it be fair to say that heavy spinning rods and MH rods are less popular thank light spinning gear rods like Medium power and Medium Light, light gear for lighter weight apications like drop shotting etc why wouldn’t i be for real? I’m asking questions because that’s how information gets gathered and people share things and info and experience that help others take different perspectives.
  24. can you tell me more what you have rigged up on the spinning gear or what the purpose if for the spinning gear as well as the casting gear?
