is the 867 rod the best for what i am trying for throw or should i move up to the 908?

does the tranx come in Left hand? if it doesn’t come in lefty, any other ideas?

Picked up an 867 and a cardif reel for but I prefer low profile reels. I intend on using it for Deps 250, Megabass megadog, Hudd 6 and 8in. Thats about as big as I will be going, so the 867 should suffice, but what reel? 1) is there any advantage in casting distance or power with a round reel vs a low profile baitcaster, or is it just preference? 2) What low profile bait casters would work? Would a lews super duty LFS be strong enough for this reel, I was also considering a zillion HD. I've also read about a tranx being used. 3) if I stay with a round reel, what woul dbe the benefit of upgrading to a calcullta or Daiwa Luna 300?

wondering if anyone has any experience with the megabass mega dog too water bait. it’s very large at 8.7in. what would be a good rod/reel for this and other very large baits? Could the Tequilla baccarat handle it or does it require a larger swim air rod?

i tested the animated robotic lure today, I didn’t fish with it, just wanted to see it in action and i have to be honest it looked pretty dang good. Anyone have any luck with these?

I dont understand your sentence in asking a question I have no interest in? If i Dint have an interest, I wouldn't have asked the question. Perhaps I could have been clearer but I think the question is pretty direct, no?

I thought my thread was pretty clear but if not - My interest is - as I stated above - What is the attraction to Round reels when it comes to BFS. If they are not light weight, and as compact as low profile reels, why do pople choose them? What are the advantages or disadvantages> Is it cosmetic or functional?

I dont care if its braid or not. to me BFS represents small micro, ultralight fishing. Which also means the smallest lightest gear. I could be wrong.

Round reels to me, seem to be more oriented for power fishing, large fish, saltwater, etc. I dont know why i think that way, its just my perception/misperception. In regards to BFS, I see a lot of suggestions about the calcutta round reels and can someone please elaborate why a round reel over a low profile baitcaster? . PS -i love small profiles and the attraction to BFS for me is the super-ultralight, micro fishing, so to speak and I cant understand why I would go or a large "fat" round reel? Thanks!

Oh geez round reels vs baitcasters, that sounds like a whole seperate thread. I have no experience with round reels. I thought they were for saltwater

I have the P5 PopX stick. Is that BFS? I have it with a daiwa SV air Is 2000 the right size, I prefer the smallest package but have to keep in mind what rod its going on. I am lookng at the Megabass baby plugging rod, is this a good pairing or should I be looking at a 500 sized reel.

i had a Tsurinoya reel awful is the pop-x from megabass considered bfs?

anyone have any experience with the Megabass pop x stick and the siglett? both of these seem like they would be good for BFS but not sure how they compare
