  2. Picked up an H crate with 4 built in rod holders. how do i add more rod holders? is there something hobie or another manufacturer makes to create more rod storage. looking to hold 8 rods in all. looking for any attachments or creative ways to carry more rods vertically. thanks
  3. if money wasn’t an issue, what would be the best Frog Combo?
  4. It seems St Croix tends to underestimate the power of the rods, whereas other brands overrate them in my experience. So I have a Green Legend X MH that I was going to use a a dedicated frog rod. Anyone have any experience with this rod and if it would do well in that role?
  5. starting to appreciate these more and have a few more waistline 1) what is your preferred shallow diving crankbait, medium diving, and deep diving crankbaits? 2) are there any large shallow crankbaits? I mostly fish for size not quantity. 3) do you think a deep diving crankbaits Require a different set up and shallow or medium meaning do you need to have your power Rod, And if so what power 4) What’s the best crankbait for Ponds?
  6. This one? https://japantackle.com/casting-reels/shimano/shimano-18antares-dcmd.html

  8. How about the 736 glass chatterbait rod. I have that one too but it’s a dedicated Chatterbait rod any other brands or models would be appreciated
  9. The Steez A doesn’t have the SV, does that mean it will backlash more easily? i love steez and zillion SV - they’re are so easy to use
  10. I have a Dobyns champ XP 804, would this be good for deep cranks like 6XDs and 10XDs
  11. What’s a great deep crank combo, no budget? i prefer Dobyns, Steez AGS, St Croix, and Megabass rods
  12. Man that’s not fair. what state are you in? Bass Fishing in PA isn’t great but i’m determined.
  13. Can anyone please explain to me the differences of the various steez reels? How do they differ in size and intended use? Thanks! see pic below
  14. what’s wrong with the legend X as a frog?
  15. I understand all that. I’m just curious how people approach it and looking for some patterns or generalizations. deep crank is one i never would think of as well as chatterbait rod as an example
  16. I appreciate that and understand the overthinking part but would still love to hear how other people approach it. there are always things to learn and i’m just a curious person - that’s why we have 2 ears and 1 mouth.
  17. I’d love to hear more thoughts on any rods (not the specific brand or model) certainly ok to list that but rods that you have dedicated for specific techniques or have earmarked for applications.
  18. i really appreciate the feedback so far. Also thanks to those that offered power action and specific use. So, looking back at the replies, here is some observations… Frog rod - seems to be a technique that needs a specific rod. Also sometimes combined with Flipping and even punching (not in this thread) chatterbait - not sure why, i really don’t understand why does this bait require a dedicated chatterbait rod? topwater - also i noticed that people mentioned topwater rod in addition to the frog rod. Is this for walking baits?? Jig rod - defiantly seems to be a specific rod. ben separate from a texas rig rod. Swimbait - also a rod that seems to be unique spinning/dropshot/wacky/Ned - i noticed that spinning seems to be preferred for ned rigs, wacky rigs and most definatmey drop shotting
  19. I just want to make sure a steez 70 CT SV can handle a rod of that size and power
  20. Thank you! yes 360! very excited.
