  1. I just received an email from Tackle Supply Depot announcing a 20% off discount on everything. Said it was a going out of business sale?
  2. Does the Daiwa BG MQ belong in this discussion? Has an aluminum body and the 2500 size is a decent weight at 8.3 oz with 22 lb drag. I’ve been watching this reel for inshore saltwater fishing. It’s usually listed at $199.99 and I just ordered one for $134.99. I have and like several Tatula LT spinning reels and am looking forward to the comparison. I think I’ll like!
  3. Is fluorocarbon more manageable in the first season of purchase? If I bought a bulk spool and don’t use it all, would I notice a great difference in succeeding years?
  4. I placed an order with ALF. 30% discount. Setting up for fishing clear Canadian smallmouth waters next year.
  5. Thanks for the advice!
  6. I’m considering buying a 1000 yard spool of Seaguar Tatsu on eBay. Is all Tatsu line a legitimate “Made in Japan” product or are there some knock-offs being sold? Any problems with an eBay purchase? Thanks for advice.
  7. I have fished Crotch Lake in the Frontenac Highlands (area west of Perth, ON) and Wabatongushi, north of Wawa, ON. Beautiful lakes!
  8. Thanks for the nice report. I love fishing in Canada! Got in one trip after it opened up this year and have two periods scheduled in ‘22. Wish I lived closer.
  9. First post from an appreciative lurker! Thank you all for the great knowledge and opinions regularly posted on this site. I've primarily been a saltwater inshore angler for many years but also make two trips to Ontario every summer. On the Canadian lakes I've primarily fished crankbaits, jerkbaits, and plastic swimbaits, targeting smallmouth and walleyes. I'm starting to consider how to rig up for my initial attempts at finesse fishing, mainly ned rigs and drop shots. How important is it to use a brightly colored line to see the pause in the line indicating I'm on the bottom? I'll be using a nice St Croix Eyecon spinning rod (MLXF 7'6") and am tempted to rig up with 6# flouro line to keep it simple. My other choice is 6, 8, or 10# bright green Sufix 832 braid to a flouro leader. I do have an extra spool so maybe the smart solution is to rig up both options and see what works best. Any thoughts?
