  1. Ghoti, What kind of rod are you using?I can fish the swimsenko very slowly weightless and feel the tail swiming.
  2. Man you are one hell of a fisherman.
  3. I don't see them either.

E2 x2.Once a bass gets a frog in its mouth it's hard to take it away from him. That's why so many people complain about losing a fish halfway to the boat they never had it hooked in the first place. One way to help this problem is to use megastrike or some other gel as a lubricant. This lets the frog slide in the basses mouth so the hook can penetrate. Also you can use a Mann's Phat Rat (or phat frog, however I've never used one)as the bass pretty much hook themselves. They use a completely different hooking system.Or best of all use a combination of the two.
  5. Big bass in pads, sounds like a frog or rat to me.My suggestion would be a black Mann's Phat Rat in the early morning. Rick Wells Tallahassee
  6. I told you guys about global warming!!
  7. I use a split ring whenever I want to walk the dog.Makes it much easier. Rick Wells Tallahassee
  8. I use Megastrike and Frog Hog.Frog Hog is a better attractant, but Megastrike stays on longer and is a better lubricant. Rick Wells Tallahassee
  9. I bought the kit,put a lot of hours in them, not even a nibble and they don't cast well. However the hooks that come with them are the best I've ever used. They are an offset hook with a barb above the offset. They really do a good job of keeping the head from sliding down and balling up.They are also very sharp and the hookup % is great. They can also be sharpened. If your interested in the hooks but not the snakes: http://www.backwatersonline.com/category.cfm?Category=1825&CFID=854509&CFTOKEN=9532
  10. I have a poontoon and it works great.Weighs 20lbs.I don't use the oars I use swim fins. You can run it hands free like a trolling motor.I've been in winds up to 30mph with no problem.I live in Fla the only problem I've had is fighting off the alligators. Rick Wells Tallahassee
  11. Does the black light attract bugs?
  12. I really apreciate the tutorial on jig fishing.I'm one of those guys who wants to get good with a jig.All the info was great. However you didn't mention what trailer you were using.Would you be willing to part with that info? Rick Wells Tallahassee

I guess I'm not fishing in the right places. The bass are not in the lillypads, not in the cypress trees and the hydrilla is gone.I'm fishing from a tube so there are no electronics and I'm just trying to figure out where the bass are. Rick Wells Tallahassee

Raul, I don't think that will be a problem.I have fished this small lake for many years. It has always been a lake with a lot of hydrilla, pads and cypress trees. For some reason this year all the hydrilla has died and the lillypad beds are shrinking. This is a natural occurance as I called and there has been no spraying, etc.Anyway there is no structure on the bottom to get hung up on. I'm using green 40# braid.I don't understand will black make it harder for the fish to see?If so why don't they make the line black? Rick Wells Tallahassee

    # of hits.
  17. Stanley Ribbits (toads you can buy at Wally World). 1) Reel fast, keep it on top of the water. 2) Reel medium, keep it a foot or so below the surface 3)Cast and let sink to bottom(in shallow water) reel very slow, crawl it over the bottom.
  18. dsa,who makes those tubes and have you ever tried one?

I'm going to give drop shotting a try for the first time tomorrow.I would like to tie it directly to the braid line as I am not very good at tying on leaders.I'm fishing from a tube (and fighting off the gators) and will only be taking one rod.How much do you think I'll lose if I tie it to the braid? Rick Wells Tallahassee

Trying to find SencoSam's tutiorial. Can anyone help? Rick Wells Tallahassee
  22. Yesterday I started fishing my morning go to bait,a black Mann's Phat rat.Suprisingly I got no action with it.I pulled out a Baby PHat Rat (I've never used it before) it was the exact same lure only in a smaller size.I quickly caught 3 bass 3-6lbs before the sun hit the water and the top water bite stopped. No Dinks! P.S. With the Phat Rat the bass nearly hook themselves.
  23. Karl your right that is what I'm talking about. Thanks for the info.
