  1. Don't care for the snakes but I love the hooks.Just wish I could buy more. The maker (vmc) only sells to businesses and Hannon's company has been unresponsive. Rick Wells Tallahassee
  2. Love those buzzbait hits.Doesn't get any better than that. Rick Wells Tallahassee
  3. Thought I'd put a plug in for my hometown lake,Lake Talquin. The lake has become a very good bass fishery. From 2000 to 2002 the lake was stocked with nearly half a million hachery bass and the stocking has been a huge success. These fish have become large and numbers have been way up. the following is a detailed evaluation of the stocking program. If your not interested in reading the whole thing scroll down to the last paragraph as it is a summary of the program. http://research.myfwc.com/features/view_article.asp?id=24239
  4. Don't mean to hijack this thread, but GMAN do you mean hand poured frogs or toads? If your talking about hollow frogs how do you do that? Rick Wells Tallahassee

On the original thread I posted a short interview with Charlie but I don't think too many people saw it. It's the last post. http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1190653401/0
  6. I fish the Gambler Cane Toads quite often. They will catch bass on top, subsurface and crawled across the bottom. They are wider than most toads and sink more slowly. They have the paddle legs and ridges on the body so they create quite a commotion.Great bait. Rick Wells Tallahassee

    OB, Thanx
  11. I have been tubing here in Fla.for the past couple years.I see gators almost every time I go out.I have not had any problems with them except for the ones people feed getting a little close. However I would never tube at night.
  12. Look's like it's got a good chance.Let us know.

It's a prop bait so pull hard to get the propellers going and then let it set.Don't try to walk the dog,the propellers will interfere. It is designed to be pulled straight.

Olebiker, does anyone in town sell them?Do you use the 3/8 or 1/2 oz size? What is your favorite color?

Yesterday my friend and I went to his father's house on Lake Seminole. It is on the Fla,Ga border. When we went into his fathers den he had 11 bass over ten lbs mounted.I asked him what he caught them on.He said he had caught all but one on a Devil's Horse.I used to use them as a kid but I haven't heard anything about them for a long time.Think I'll give them a try again. Anyone here fish a Devil's Horse? Rick Wells Tallahassee
  16. Thanx cj I'll give it a try.
  17. I'm using a 3/16 oz spinnerbait with a gold willow leaf and a silver colorado blade. If I slow it down to where I'm catching bass I get hung up in the dying hydrilla. Why don't people use a trailer with a spinnerbait? Rick Wells Tallahassee
  18. Was wondering if anyone on the board fishes this combination?I'm trying to fish a spinnerbait high in the water column with a slower retrieve.Any suggestions would be helpful. In other words slow rolling near the surface. Rick Wells Tallahassee
  19. I agree suspended bass are the toughest bass to catch.I have found (2) reliable ways to catch them. (1) Fish at night when they are not so spooked. (2) If the bass are suspended in 15' of water, strip off 15' of line and add a bobber.I usually fish this with a small Maribu jig as it will give off good action with the slightest ripple on the water.
  20. I think Walk the Dog works so well cause it keeps the bait in the strike zone longer. Rick Wells Tallahassee
  21. I've had some luck with white trick worms.

I bought Doug Hannon's Snake kit.Haven't had a bite on any of them, but I love the hooks that came with them.Between the eye and the offset it has a barb that really secures the head of any soft plastic. Problem is I'm down to my last one.VMC makes them but they will only sell to manufacturers.Does anyone know if anyone else manufactures this style of hook?I've really gotten spoiled with these hooks. Rick Wells Tallahassee
  23. I use a bobber and jig for suspended bass.I use a small maribou jig and a bobber at the depth the bass are suspended at.If there's a little ripple on the water you don't have to do anything.Just kick back and wait for the bass to bite. Rick Wells Tallahassee
  24. I use a bobber and a maribou jig for suspended bass.If there's even a little ripple on the water you don't have to do anything. Rick Wells Tallahassee

I'm with Road Warrior,I use megastrike as a lubricant.I fish a lot of frog/rats and it helps them slide through the pads and also helps with the hookset. If it also helps attract bass so much the better. Rick Wells Tallahassee
