Got a couple of daiwa bg2500 reels for 75 bucks or something from sportsman’s outfitters. Not sure what they have left but seemed like a good price for a well reviewed reel.

Thanks! Would I use mono, fluoro or braid? I have mono on the others but not sure if bass setup requires something different or again just down to personal preference.

Hi there. Hoping to get some advice from the board here. I fished a lot growing up back in Scotland. Perch, roach and pike mainly although did do some trout fly fishing. That was 25 years ago. My daughter recently expressed an interest in fishing so i grabbed a couple of ugly stik elite rods on sale and paired them with some okuma avenger abf30 reels. Put 4lb mono on one and 6lb on the other. We’ve been catching some rainbow trout at local stocked water in NJ (Just releasing them) and I have quickly fallen back in love with fishing. Would love to do some bass fishing and picked up a Daiwa BG2500 reel which should arrive next week. My question was on what rod to pair it with. Was thinking either a Bass X, Dobyns Fury or Daiwa Tatuma but not sure which one or which model to get. Have been reading up on the different rigs so was planning on using some senkos and Texas / wacky rigging and maybe some crankbaits etc. Also, what line should I put on the BG2500 reel?? Any other advice for a new bass fisherman would be great and appreciated! Thanks in advance. Hope everyone is staying safe. Cheers
