Pretty soon I need to order a few of those jackets, and am wondering what's out there that gives you the best bang for your buck? Do I really need those fancy looking $200 life jackets or will a generic looking jacket - see below - that cost $15 be good enough to do the job? What do you have or recommend? Please be safe!

Is it still the best bang for the buck? Do you prefer 2500 over 3000 or vise versa? My understanding is 3000 has a faster gear ratio, and also comes with a bigger - better? - handle which is pretty cool in my book. Thank you for your input in advance!

Looking for a crappy rod, and for some light fishing applications; drop shot, NED rig etc. Maybe even some small mouth fishing w/light tackle. What’s your take on Dobyn rods? Are there better options under $200?

I should've asked what don't you have? LOL I've done that said method for hours, and I always wondered why I was so sore and tired at the end of the day. When I get too beat, I usually switch back to ol'Texas rigging. I'm no spring chicken anymore although semi-macho side of me don't want to admit that....

Which net do you use/recommend?

I've no qualms about sticking my finger inside of a fish's mouth IF I'm using a single hook. However, with treble hooks I'd have to be extra careful, but I still get hooked from time to time which is never fun. I've been thinking about using a fish grabber in the future, and I'm wondering what's out there to avoid pain/bleeding?
