He didn't mention anything about selling them, so why would he care about patents?
  2. Hmm. I have five (one is brand new so it doesn’t count). 3 of them will squeak. I remember I’ve Read about at least one other member here that had loose cork, but it’s been a while back.
  3. This is always the answer.
  4. I’m losing a little faith in what I thought were fantastic rods (they sure have a great rep around here). I have a handful of them, and one has already been replaced due to the cork coming loose, now two more of them have exhibited the same issue. The cork starts to move on the blank (visibly moves) and squeaks and pops when you’re setting a hook, or fighting a fish. And it’s pretty bad squeaking .... as seen in the video. My 60th anniversary Tat rod is starting to do it too, and that ones not really replaceable. Not sure what to do other than try and rely on the warranty? https://youtube.com/shorts/3gcPvvRwYmg?feature=share
  5. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/catpage-ARKRODS.html?from=basres At $74, I'd grab one of these in whatever spec's you need. Fish it all year, and go from there.
  6. This obviously isn't current (was this time last year), but it's not uncommon for the BPS branded stuff to go on sale.
  7. Really the only reason to buy a Revros, is if you want it for the shallow spool. And if the spool is what you're after, you're better off spending a few extra bucks on the BPS Carbonlite. BPS is notorious for putting them on sale at nearly the same price as a Revros, and you get the same shallow spool capacity, but also air bail, more bearings, and a direct thread handle.
  8. Yea. If you don't mind paying for the Procyon, it's a no-brainer.
  9. I am not speaking for ALL line lay issues, but Daiwa ABS kind of works that way.
  10. The Feugo isn't going to flex any more or less than the other non-Zaion LT reels. In a 2500 size LT reel the "flex" will never be an issue, especially with no fish over 4lbs. You'll literally never notice it. The line lay "issue" is often misconstrued. The line is supposed to spool in a cone shape. Not completely flat like a lot of people assume. The Procyon LT is, for all intents and purposes is just a deep spool Tatula LT. The BPS Carbonlite 2.0 is and Exceler LT with a couple of spool bearings and a shallow spool. The BPS or Exceler will suite your needs fine.
  11. This. Or go to BP and get a Carbonlite 2.0 if you want an Exceler with a shallow spool.
  12. I'm interested too. I've made a few, but due to the expandable material, they were very cost prohibitive.
  13. Agreed. Much better fried.
  14. Some days, I get upset that I don't get to kill a few more.
  15. This is really why I was asking. ? Daiwa promotes their "digigear" so hard, and touts "perfect" mesh, so I wondered if they had actually gotten their machining to the point that it minimized play, or if this amount was still normal.
  16. I’ve owned Shimanos at various price points... Sub $100 Shimanos are no stranger to handle wiggle, worse than this in a lot of cases. Yep, it’s a Carbonlite (Diawa). Kind of an Exceler with a shallow spool. Your Carbonlites have similar wiggle?
  17. Is a little driveline play like this normal on the more affordable Daiwa LT reels? the handle threads directly to the main gear, so the wiggle is in the drivetrain itself, not the handle.
  18. To complicate things, I just realized the BP Carbonlite 2.0 reel is basically an Exceler with an extra bearing, and a shallow spool. For the same price. that’s really intriguing. The new Exceler looks great. And it’s the new Zion V frame material. Too bad we don’t get the nice stuff in the US.
  19. The Legalis LT can be had for $49. Presumably because they updated to colors for 2021. The Exceler LT is still $79 pretty much everywhere. And yea, I think every spinner I’ve ever had is the hex “through” handle design, and while I have had some develop some play, most work fine. Theres no denying that having the handle threaded directly into the main gear is a superior design though.
  20. After some research, the Legalis and the Exceler are the same reel basically, with the nod going to the Exceler because the handle screws directly into the main gear like the higher end reels. other than that there’s really no difference. I’m trying to decide if that feature is worth an extra $30.
  21. Just chunk a weightless 5" Senko in there and go to town. That is always the answer.
  22. I'd have probably rather had the Exceler because of the screw in handle, but I found a Legalis LT 2500 for $49 so I grabbed it. I'm still on the lookout for a BG 2000 at a great price though.
  23. Any Idea if there were any meaningful updates to the 2021 Legalis?
  24. Does anyone know if there were any meaningful updates to the "2021" Legalis Lt? I actually like the previous colors better, and they can be had for about $49 bucks right now.
