  1. The 7’ Medium? I just want to be able to tie on a KVD 2.5 or 3XD too. I know a rod that handle those well and throw a DT4 well is asking a lot though.
  2. For sure. The versatility just shrinks a tad with their ratings, so not sure which to go with yet.
  3. Yea, its a little odd. Even in this thread it has been matter-of-factly said that the FR705CB is a graphite rod. But similarly, I was going to purchase a Lews XD series cranking rod recently, because I thought it was a composite. It is advertised at BP and TW as "HM50 graphite/S-glass". After a back and forth with Lews, they tell me that it's an all graphite rod. So I mean, who knows.
  4. Just an anecdote... With T-rigged soft plastics, don't get stuck in one mode of retrieve. I see guys all the time that no matter what, that rod tip is going to bounce exactly the same every time they fish a T-rigged plastic. Example, I had a pretty good afternoon yesterday on a 3/16 T-rigged senko, but I was basically slowly swimming it back with some random bounces/stops along the way. When I slowed down to a "normal" retrieve they weren't interested.
  5. According to Dobyns, that is not quite correct. I emailed and asked for clarification. I think is will be interesting for a lot of people, as everything I see online calls this a graphite rod. The FR705CB is 40% Glass. That's news to me.
  6. I had the 7’ Invoker Pro glass rod. The action was pretty spot on for shallow/medium cranks. The shape of the grips don’t really suit my hand at all though. The blank on the glass rod mentioned above was crooked. It bugged me, and was one reason I sold it.
  7. Id like to know too!
  8. Went to check out a 50 acre WMA lake near my house this afternoon. Its managed by the state, and I haven’t fished it in a couple of years. I got there late, and decided to just throw from the bank some instead of putting the boat in. Got to pull on a 5.82lb six casts in. Then a 3.69lb about 15 min later. Ended up pulling 12 out for a total of 24.92lbs in just over two hours. I also saw 4 different cotton mouths, and remembered why I don’t bank fish. ? I caught them all on a 3/16 T-rigged Senko, nearly swimming it back. Worked slow, they wouldn’t touch it.
  9. That’s a great price. Id have probably tried one if I new about that sale.
  10. I’ve had 4 Ark rods. Two Invoker Pro casting (ended up selling), and two Cobb series spinning rods. Out of the 4, two had QC issues, and had to be swapped. One of my Cobb spinning rods still creaks and pops in the reel seat when you put pressure on it. That said, the Cobb rods fish great. The blanks seem nice, they are very light, and balance fantastic with 2500 reels. I’d probably try another. ETA: I forgot I ordered a Lancer Pro spinning before I bought the Cobbs. The guides were not lined up with the reel seat, so I returned it. (Also, idk why they left so many threads exposed in front of the nut. You can see I tape them, because they get annoying on my finger.)
  11. No one is giving them a hard time, just making sure we didn’t miss a promotion THEY were offering. I mean, at those prices $7 is like two more lures! ??
  12. Where did you order from? Find a good price on them?
  13. Unfortunately no where around here to handle one. Which lengths did you look at? Tackle Warehouse has the 7’ listed as 1/4-3/4oz and I thought that was perfect for what I needed…… But just saw that the Shimano site has it listed 1/4-1/2oz. I throw some KVD 2.5 squares (5/8oz) so afraid the 7’ may be too light. So now I’m looking at the 7’2”, but it may be a bit much for DT4s (which I also throw a good bit). Decisions decisions ?
  14. Not cool. Ha! You didn’t use a code or anything? Even says $100 on the homepage?
  15. Is anyone using one of the newer split grip Curado Glass rods? I’m looking for a crank rod to pair with my new Curado MGL 150, and the 7’ Medium Curado glass is one option I’m considering. Good looking rods, I just can’t find much chatter about them.
  16. That’s what I always thought. But it’s pretty odd that someone there that was put on the line to answer my “technical” questions and help pick out a rod would say otherwise. I even said, “wait, the Fury 705CB is a composite blank??”, and got the reply “All CB model rods are composites”. ??‍♂️ I’m just the messenger.
  17. Whhhaaaatt? The site was telling me I had to get to $100 for free shipping? If it’s $50 I’ll be calling Monday AM to try and add something, ha. I just tried. I have to put $100 in my cart to get free shipping. $50 didn’t work.
  18. Check my OP. The employee told me “All CB model rods are composite” (we were discussing the FR705CB specifically). Im paraphrasing, but he said something to extent of CB models being only 40% glass, and CB Glass models being 60+% glass. ??‍♂️
  19. I agree. But it wasn’t Gary that I was talking to, and I believe I’ve seen him call the 705CB a “graphite” rod on another forum. However the employee told me pretty matter of factly that all CB models were composite.
  20. Well. Thanks… I guess. ? I just bought a bunch of cranks and jerks for no real reason, ha. But $4.25 for KVD 200s, 1.5s, and 3XDs to my door is too hard to pass.
  21. I called Dobyns today to get some info on a rod. During the conversation the person that was helping me (I can’t remember his name) told me that all CB rods are composite (mix of graphite and glass). He noted that the CB-Glass rods just have a higher percentage of glass in the blank than the regular CB models. This is contradictory to what I’ve heard in the past. I was under the impression that the regular CB models were graphite blanks? Can anyone confirm?
  22. Well. With a little internet voodoo, I ended up picking up a Curado MGL 150 6:2 for $163 to my door from BP. Can’t really beat that. I guess I’ll try a DC next time. ??‍♂️
  23. Nice. Thanks. I, for the life of me can’t find that flyer anywhere. It’s not the same one linked earlier in this thread, or the other sale thread. ETA: Finally found it after going through google, then adding a different store.
  24. When I go to that link provided, there are inshore and surf rods on page 9. Someone said page 5 earlier in the thread. I think there are some wires being crossed.
  25. I guess I'm losing my mind. Is this the flyer you're referring to? I don't see them listed. https://www.rabato.com/us/bass-pro/weekly-ad/ZXiKep
