  1. Maybe I need to rig them different. I’ve tried weightless and weighted TR and on jig heads. But I’ve gotten nada on them.
  2. Giving some XZone lures a shot. True Center Stick - 5" (8 Pack) 12133 - Watermelon w/Blk True Center Stick - 5" (8 Pack) 12404 - Carolina Pumpkin Black Flake Adrenaline Craw - 4.25" (6 Pack) 28315 - Summer Craw X-Tube - 3.75 Inch (8 Pack) 41851 - Killer Perch
  3. Maybe the GYBC Fat Ika. I catch the vast majority of bass on soft plastics of all types but I’ve never gotten one strike on these.
  4. Try the Magic Eraser sheets. They are way more flexible and can easily wrap around a cork handle for easy cleaning.
  5. Well, it was only $0.45!
  6. Sometimes, if the area is very weedy. I’d rather be safe than sorry.
  7. @Bluebasser86, that sure looks like the same gal to me. Beautiful bass! Congrats!
  8. That looks good. Hopefully it works as good as it looks.
  9. Like camo for hunters.
  10. Not my PB. Maybe 2.5 lbs? But I was fishing last Saturday and while bringing the boat towards the take-out point I passed a spot with overhanging limbs touching the water and I picked up my St. Croix MLXF and said (to myself lol) “I’m going to catch a bass right now!” I cast a weightless Zoom Trick and Bam! Caught that bass! I said that ten more times. Didn’t work! ?
  11. I use Gamakutsu 1/0 circle octopus hooks for wacky rigs. I rarely lose a bass. And if I do, it’s likely it just bit the end of the bait and never took the hook.
  12. Thanks. That sounds good to me. In fact, it should probably be a bit warmer here at that time of year.
  13. Umm-m-m-m....they’re beans! That’s what they do! ?
  14. A decent knot you can tie well and have confidence in is worth 10X more than a knot you don’t.
  15. For the average Joe it probably makes no difference at all.
  16. He got me again. Twice in a week! Got a pack of Zman Finesse TRD’s in Coppertreuse and 1/6 oz. Ned rig jigheads; Zoom Tricks in Motoroil/Chartruse and some 1/8 oz. tungsten bullet weights; Owner 1/8 oz. Shakey Head 4/0 hooks; and a Zman 3/8 oz. Chatterbait in Chartreuse Sexy Shad.
  17. Those days are definitely times for finesse presentations. You really try to drive the hook home while fishing a frog and you may really have an issue! One word. Thermocell!
  18. That’s got my vote. Second would be a Zoom Trick.
  19. I moved to Conroe (The Woodlands) in August 2019 but didn’t start fishing here until late April 2020. And to be frank, I really didn’t start fishing seriously for bass with new rigs, lures, etc. until June. So now with six new rigs, lures, tackle and a small inflatable boat, I’m looking to take a week’s vacation for what I hope is a great week of bass fishing. But I don’t know when to take it. March? April? February? Let me know what you believe is likely the best time for a week’s vacation for spring bass.
  20. Had to stop at WM. I strayed over to the fishing section. Whodathunkit? Not much. Pack of Zoom Tricks and Baby Brush Hogs in watermelon/red; 1/2 oz. Strike King football jig with 2 Rage Tail Rage Craw trailers; and a classic Rapala floater in Silver.
  21. Well...it says “Long Cast”! OP- if you found that reel, maybe there’s a reason why lol.
  22. It all depends on the “bank”. I have two spots where I fish the bank that’s maybe 15 seconds from the truck. If I fish those spots I’ll bring 3-5 rigs, a chair, the whole Plano box, etc. But if I’m beating the bank, no more than two. Normally a MHF baitcaster and a MF or MXF spinning rig.
