  1. I have two- a LT2000 and a LT2500. They are great reels at their price point.
  2. I used a trolling motor prop. It worked, but I did not find it easy to control. But my inflatable is different and I sit up higher, so it may be a different story with his boat. On high speed I was moving. Just hard to keep straight with the prop off to the side. I also ditched the oars and went with a yak paddle. I used a trolling motor prop. Darn tootin’. I have a .380 in the bedside table, a .45 ACP in my dresser, a 9 mm in the kitchen cabinet and if the SHTF, a Springfield SOCOM 7.62 mm with several loaded magazines in the other bedroom. All the other guns are in the safe. The Kahr 9 mm is my go-to CCW, although I will take the .S&W 380 ACP at times if I’m dressed lightly and my Firestar .45 ACP if I’m wearing a jacket or coat.
  4. Not for me, but good to see someone filling a niche a lot closer than Japan lol.
  5. Looks like me after the holidays!
  6. I’ve always used clear or blue. I like to see my line but prefer the bass doesn’t.
  7. I have one. Got it for about that same price. Surprised me how well it fished for the cost.
  8. That’s interesting as it seems you did not match the hatch (as I understand it); rather, you offered up baits that appeared similar to forage whose numbers have dwindled. So I guess the question is, do bass key in on forage whose numbers are lower than previous, almost as if thinking “eat it now while it’s still available?” Or is it just a coinkydink?
  9. It must be the “Meg” version!
  10. There’s a lot of truth in that opening statement!
  11. That'd be better than riding a mechanical bull!
  12. Any spinning rod over medium. If I need a MH or H, that’s baitcaster territory. As far as spinning actions, I like XF for wacky rigs. Crank the line tight when the bass runs with the bait and the hook will set fast. I like F for weightless Senkos.
  13. That was my thought. “Hey! Isoroku is ‘Gary’ in English. This hat is worth $$$” Google Yamamoto. You won’t see Gary on any of the initial hits. You will see Yamamoto bleach. ?
  14. Love that pistol grip rod. And man! A hi-speed 4.8:1 retrieve! Smokin’! ? It probably was fast back in the day!
  15. Man goes into a pet shop and tells the clerk “I need a cat that’s good for mice”. The clerk points to a gray tabby and says “There you are, sir. That cat is definitely good for mice”. The man buys the cat, leaves and returns with the cat five days later. The clerk asks why the man is returning the cat. Irate, the man shouts “You said this cat was good for mice! He just lays there! The mice run up and down him and he never lifts a paw”! The clerk smiles and says “Well...isn’t that good for mice”? Thats when the fight started...
  16. Still have it. A Daiwa Millionaire 3H. Got it sometime in the late 70s when I was a teen.
  17. I bought the Bass X from Academy lol. They do have a good selection of fishing gear there for sure. They just didn’t have the Bass X in ML so I had to order it. They do have All Star rods, but I thought I read on BR that they aren’t the same as past ones. Might not make any difference to me as I’ve never seen an old one lol.
  18. Well, if you go strictly by $$$, it’s the best rod I will own lol. But a lot of that depends on the user. You can tell just from BR that some love Rod A, others hate it and some think it’s ok but other rods are just as good. As long as I like it, that’s all that counts. I’m quite sure that, unless I hit PB or MM, I’ll likely never spend $250+ on a rod or reel. I’m sure they’re great, but I have other things I need $$$ for now or in the future. And my skill level probably couldn’t utilize the increase in sensitivity that a high-dollar rig would provide. If I find out this rod is meh (to me), I’d likely buy another Aird X or Procyon.
  19. I tend to simply buy rods in the price range I’m looking for with the power, action and extras I like. I don’t think you can really “pick” a rod and know it’s 100% for you until you fish with it. Some feel great in the store but not so great on the water, and vice-versa. Opinions from other anglers is a good start, but what I like, you may loathe. I will agree that sticking with one or two rod makers is probably not a bad thing. At least some things (power, action) should remain relatively consistent.
  20. Good to hear. I have issues tying knots when the line is very thin. Darn these eyes!!!
  21. IMO they’re worth the wait. They are great hooks for wacky rigs. I use O rings for Senkos religiously, but no need for them with Dingers.
  22. I like Yum Dingers. They’re tougher than Senkos for sure. They sink slower, which is sometimes not so good, but sometimes is great. It ain’t up to you on that point-it’s up to the bass! I found 1/0 Gamakatsu octopus circle hooks on Amazon. Not sure if they ship to you.
  23. I cancelled the order and started looking at other options. I decided to take a step up and ordered a St. Croix Bass X BXS610MLXF. Should be in my hands next week. I’ll pair that with my new Daiwa Revros LT2000. Now to decide if I should spool up straight 6 lb mono or go braid with a leader. If braid, I have 20 lb Sufix 832 on hand. That diameter would match 6 lb leader. Suggestions?
