  1. Columbia makes some good stuff. I only have a pair of Magellan convertible short/pants combo but I need an upgrade.
  2. For $150 I’d say you will need to look for someone selling a used fishing yak. You’re not going to find much geared towards fishing for $150 or less.
  3. It was different for sure. But better than a simple phone call. And no need for masks lol.
  4. We had what we’ve had for years: Maryland crab cakes, green beans and macaroni salad with steamed shrimp. This is the first Christmas we’ve been apart from our daughters who are still back in Maryland. They had the same dinner and we dined together over a video call on the Amazon Echo they got us for Christmas.
  5. Daiwa spent some serious coin on that promo.
  6. So if you rig these up as a Neko rig, do you set the hook by reeling in the slack like you do with a wacky rig, or is it more of a sweep of the rod? I use 1/0 Gammy octopus circle hooks for my wacky rigs but I’m guessing this would be better served with a dropshot hook?
  7. I looks like it could catch a DD still in the box!
  8. Many thanks to @roadwarrior for my Fishmas gifts! I received them over a week ago, but I’m OCD about opening Christ(Fish)mas or birthday presents early, so I waited with baited (pun intended) breath until this morning. The Megabass Pop Max looks like the ticket for topwater on the ponds I fish, and those Daiwa/GYBC Neko Machos look awesome. Have to get some nail weights for fishing a (new to me) neko rig!
  9. Have to agree lol. Using knots you really don’t know how to tie (or tie well) is a recipe for disaster.
  10. Merry Christmas to all of you on BR.
  11. I like to use both. For weightless or weighted TR’s I prefer my baitcasters, but for wacky rigs I prefer my spinning rigs. I can’t skip worth a darn with my baitcasters but I can get a Senko far under the tree limbs easily with my spinners. It’s all good!
  12. My kids are 27 & 25. I’m likely screwed lol.
  13. Hey, I can’t argue the smallies are great. But I’m done with shoveling and scraping! ?
  14. You guys are reinforcing my decision to relo to the Houston area was a good one lol. I had the AC on in my car this afternoon. It was 80°.
  15. Using a MH, are you primarily fishing Senkos on a Texas rig? I use my MXF for wacky rigs and a MHF for Texas rigs
  16. @A-Jay @roadwarrior I’m never to old to try new things. I’ll give Megastrike a thorough workout. I tend to fish a lot of soft plastics so I’ll buy the large size lol.
  17. @A-Jay, I wanna be you when I grow up! Crap! I’m 60! ? I’m going to try a few of your selections (here cometh the Monkey again!) and see how they work for green bass down here in TX. As far as the attractant (I have some but rarely seem to reach for it), can you detect a difference if you don’t use it?
  18. It’s like asking how many .30-‘06’s or .45 ACP’s can/should one own? ?
  19. I’ve used XL a lot but figured for my baitcasters I’d give BG a shot as much as I’ve read about it here.
  20. Old thread, but what the hell. Easy question to answer for me. I fish a 2-3 acre pond, of which maybe 1/3 of it is easily accessible to fish from the bank. The remainder is surrounded by trees and brush right up to the water’s edge which makes it difficult to near impossible to fish. So I use a small inflatable boat that gives me access to the entire pond and lets me fish where other anglers can’t. It ialso gives me access to many lost lures lol.
  21. Are you going to fish or frame that? It’s definitely a objet d’art!
  22. As I’ve never used Big Game before, I picked up a 1600 yd spool of clear 10 lb for my baitcasters. Also going to spool some 6 lb XL on one of my finesse reels.
  23. Ummm, I think the taxidermist won’t be too happy!
  24. Fishmas loot should be there today!
