Rod power for T-Rig and small jigs
The Champ XP was 30% off at TW and would have been hard to pass up- but looks like they've sold the last two 684's they had in stock since the last time I checked a few hours ago. Back to the drawing board...

Rod power for T-Rig and small jigs
I'm eyeing the Champion XP 684 that's on sale at TW.... also considering a 6'6" Abu Garcia Veracity MH that I found on eBay. It has to be less than 7' .

Rod power for T-Rig and small jigs
Haha I know the difference between the two but for some reason my mind wants to use action for both sides. I thought of people like you while making this thread so I wanted to be sure i had it right!

Rod power for T-Rig and small jigs
Hey just curious, why would you suggest a Mod-Fast action for this type of application?

Rod power for T-Rig and small jigs
Something in the back of my head says I should be using at least a medium-heavy power rod for any sort of texas rig (3/16-5/16 oz) or jig (1/4-3/8 oz usually on the compact side) since they are usually being fished around some cover, but does anyone go down to like a Medium for better feel? I'm not fishing in anything super thick or anything.

My review of the Abu Garcia Veritas PLX tournament edition casting rod
20 pounds for braid seems extremely light for a casting setup, especially combined with a Heavy rod. Also, that thin of braid can be difficult to handle on a baitcaster. 20 pound braid to me is finesse line.

My review of the Abu Garcia Veritas PLX tournament edition casting rod
That’s wild, and you don’t run into any issues? Throw frogs on that setup at all?

Looking for a spinning rod
I went with the 6'6" Medium action Tatula spinning rod. It came in yesterday and it's perfect. I had 3-4 other rods in prior to this that were returned because I felt they were too heavy. This is going to be ideal for a number of finesse techniques. Something I don't typically enjoy, but I paired it with a Tatula 2500 and I think it's going to motivate me to do a little more finesse action next year.

My review of the Abu Garcia Veritas PLX tournament edition casting rod
I'm not sure I'd call them true "micro's" though, would you @CrashVector ? They seem pretty standard to me. The fazlight guides on my tatula seem much smaller/flimsier. It's a fabulous rod, I got a 6'10" MH direct from Abu- the grip is super nice. I paired it with a Revo STX and I can't wait for the ice to melt. You're fishing 20 pound braid on a Heavy power casting setup?

New Curado 150 MGL
I live in Minnesota. I don't own anything green unless it's green pumpkin.... To each their own..... I generally try to avoid rods (like Dobyns) that have techniques listed on them.

Looking for a spinning rod
Dang... I have seen them, and would have bought one, but they were sold out. I just checked and now they are back. However, I have already ordered the 6'6" MF Tatula..

New Curado 150 MGL
Why couldn't they just make it gray!? I appreciate the pics though, thanks.

New Curado 150 MGL
I don't care how I look, but if I'm dropping $200 on a reel it's not going to look like garbage in my eyes, that's all. I have a few full combos that cost less than that and they catch plenty of fish... not really concerned with what anyone else thinks- I was just having trouble deciphering from the pictures.

Good Sportsmanship
I had to go look into this situation and all I can say is WHAT!? What a clown...

Chattertube?
Maybe a bit gimmicky and probably not something I'll try, but it makes far more sense as a chatterbait trailer than a spinnerbait. At least with the head shake of the chatterbait you'll get some action out of the legs...

Veritas 6ft10 med light casting...
I'm comparing the Veritas PLX MH to the Veritas TE and the Vendetta. TE and Vendetta feel like a standard MH to me, the PLX is way lighter. Compare all that to a Daiwa Tatula MH- that one feels like a Heavy to me. I use the PLX for trebled baits.

Looking for a spinning rod
Do you have one of those? That was at the top of my list when i started the thread. The medium power is rated 1/8-3/4. I have a casting rod in that model and it's pretty stiff for a MH compared to other MH I have. I'm a little worried about it being too heavy for this purpose. I don't see anything less than 7' in that model 6'9" medium looks promising!

Looking for a spinning rod
6' - 6'8" My ned setup is a Big TRD with 3/4" trimmed off so it falls right between a finesse TRD and big TRD and 1/8 oz ned head I also like to throw 3.25" swimbaits on a 1/8 oz or 3/16 oz head Less than $150 Any recommendations?

Veritas 6ft10 med light casting...
Hmmmm. I tend to think the opposite- I have a 6'10" MH Veritas that I think it closer to a medium. Perhaps being a 2 piece makes a difference?

New Curado 150 MGL
I don't get it?

New Curado 150 MGL
I prefer no color. Black, silver, gray... etc. That's why I was so excited about this reel when I first saw it- all black/gray. Then I saw the light pics with the green... major bummer
-
New Curado 150 MGL
Green is ugly. There are so many great options out there I don't see the point of spending money and putting something together that I don't like the look of. Was excited about this reel when I saw the first photos, but have since seen some in the sun and there's definitely a green tint. Pass....

New Curado 150 MGL
Anyone have one of these. Are they all black/gray or do they have a green tint?
